The Great March (a Communist China AAR, 1.05c, Hard, Aggressive, 1 Jan 1922, no time limits)

It is 1922, just a year after the Great Lieder of China Mao confounded the Communist Party and started the Real Communist World Revolution. The situation is dare, the handful communist bands are surrounded by the vastly superior Nationalist armies, morale is at all time low, supplies are exhausted, only one in 3 has a US civil war type rifle and a couple of dozens rounds.

All gathered on a big meeting to decide what to do to survive. Speaker after speaker come out and all speak of defeat, surrender and how they should beg for mercy from the Nationalist, but everybody knows that the Nationalist don’t take prisoners and everybody feels doomed. Then a young student from a peasant family Mao at last is let to speak:

- Comrades, we are surrounded by the blood sucking dogs of the capitalism, who want to take away from us the very little we have and add it to the mountains of gold, which they already own. They want to kill us, our comrades and to add our families, our brothers and sisters to the billions of slaves, which they already have. Their slaves work from dark to dark with blood on their hands for nothing; they suffer from hunger, sickness and die in utter misery, when the capitalists swim in oceans of luxury. Comrades, Brothers, there is no other life for us! Grab your arms and lets make the people of world truly free and equal as they are born, let's give our children a bright future!

The crowd roared and Mao was elected as a Chairmen and that is how this story begins.

Immediately Mao called a war counsel. None of his advisors and commanders has a skill level more then 1, but this is was not going to stop the revolution. The PLA (Peoples Liberation Army) had 1 mountain, 3 infantry and 2 militia divisions. Mao ordered the forming of 4 militia divisions from new volunteers, latter building militia turned out to be a bad idea and only infantry was made. The science and research ware very backward, nothing was researched in any technology, but Mao said we have a war to fight, when we liberate China then the science will receive its due and will flourish.

Mao decided to free the northern part of China with two sequential strikes southwest and northeast and broaden the Communist provinces. The offense started, 1 mountain and 3 infantry divisions attacked the province of Lanzhow and captured it on 25 June 1923 after long and bloody battles. The nationalist dogs counter attacked on all fronts. The loses ware huge and almost depleted PLA supplies and volunteers, but PLA kept its positions. Taking advantage of the demoralized from the defeat National troops PLA attacked Datong, which fall in the hands of PLA victorious hands on 24 Nov 1923. The Great Lieder Mao acquired his 6 skill level. 23 enemy divisions ware cut off and are doomed to be destroyed.

That was a great beginning. All the soldiers at started envisaging the victory to come. 6 months latter of non-stop bloody attacks from the Nationalist the North-West China was liberated from the capitalism, hundreds of thousands of volunteers lined to join the PLA mountain divisions. Mao liked the mountain troops because they ware enlisted from the tough mountain folk who fought very smart and brave. He had noticed that even if they start the battle with a lower morale then the normal infantry at the end of a long long battle they sill fight, when the infantry panicked and run away.

The glorious PLA captured the old capital Beijing in April 1925. A huge enthusiasm gave wings to PLA troops and they flue from victory to victory. Hardened from non stop battles PLA commanders clearly had the upper hand, they ware not parrots to copy the rotten western war concepts, but studied the ancient Chinese wisdom of Sun Tzu and applied them with a great success.

Dec 1925 started the mother of all battles - the battle of Nantong, which lasted half a year. At its end 48 PLA divisions participated and even more Nationalist ones. PLA never had such a bloody battle since then, many songs, poems and books ware written and many movies made about the battle of Nantong, but in my view they are not enough. Hundreds of thousands heroes, comrades fall in Nantong, but didn't gave up an inch of land rightfully theirs. All the future of the world depended on this battle. Many divisions perished, but new fresh ones took their place. Twice more enemy divisions ware destroyed. At the end the PLA superior commanders and especially the Great Leader Mao prevail. Although bloody the victory was sweet, the back of the enemy snake was broken, though it sill had poisons fangs.

And it was the battle of Nantong when the glorious history of the PLA armored forces started. General Liu Po-cheng, who is one of the closest and beloved comrades of the Chairman Mao and a great fan of the armored forces, suggested to build 3 armored divisions from expropriated trucks and tractors. It took half a year to build them and no other troops could be produced. All the 3 armored divisions charged bravely and died as heroes. It was pity to see the enemy laughing at the crude vehicles. Chairman Mao said: "A time will come when the world will tremble from fear from our tanks and will knee in front of the graves of our immortal tank Comrades."

Only the time start is set to 1922, nothing else is changed . It is bloody difficult game and i've got nice sreen shots.

PLA will conquer, Opps liberate the world , just need to write the story.
