I have one more map:

http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/m...nt=WWIHOI2.jpg

Basically a 1914-era Europe, made as accurately possible by the one and only.

Iberia/West-North Africa-
No big differences, except Spanish Morocco is diminished.

Low Countries/Britannia-
Britain controls all of Britannia. Some of Belgiums' provinces are under Dutch control, Luxembourg is under Germany's fist.

Central Europe/Central-North Africa-
Austria Hungary controls a province in Italy and controls some of the Russian Empire and Romania. Libya is still under Italy's control.

Balkan Territories-
Serbia is secretly fighting under-the-table for Montonegro and Romania's support for a war against Austria Hungary. Bulgaria controls some of Greece and the Ottomans plan to make some advances in this area.

Eastern Europe/Eastern-North Africa-
Britain controls Egypt and some of the Middle East, facing the world power of the Ottoman Empire. Russia and Germany split Poland down the middle, with Finland also controlled by the first. The Ottomans also have an important border with the Russians that may lead to future conflict.

Why not make the world like it is in DLL? Its the perfect Utopia if you are fascist (just ignore the Communist and Democratic parts-Europeans will never need to go there anyway).

Oh I see. If this were so, and your accusations proved correct, then it is a waste of time and energy on everyone's behalf. We all know that no player stands a chance against the forces of Democracy.

HoI II will never die, but HoI III does seem popular among the newer members of Paradox. I don't know, I think both HoI II and III have strong points and disadvantages, but I don't think HoI III, or any game at that matter, will ever pass my HoI II hours.

I havent played HoI 3 much, just the demo. But I find that I still prefer 2. BTW, does ARMA add much to DD?

Nice update TRP

Also I believe that we HoI2ers will get a great influx of new blood onto this forum with the release of AoD (which looks fantastic, especially for AARs) and all the no doubt fantastic AARs that will come with it.

Well, we could copy your postwar, but remember that this AAR is more ahistorical off the bat than DMLL: Vichy France, for example, was never an ally to the Germans, so there won't be a Vichy in the postwar, standard France will be resurrected under a puppet government. That aisde, Italy was never a part of the Axis, the UK aims to dominate half the world and Germany wants more land than yours took

Democracy? Hah!
In the end, Socialism always wins!

I'm not sure if we've mentioned this before, but me and Laurence planned a while ago that we're going to make a HOI3 mini-AAR later on 'Thirty days in Newfoundland- A Channel Pact AAR', based on a book in the Channel Pact Universe. It is our intention to use this AAR to link people back to HOI2 and inform the newer members that we are indeed still very much alive

And yes, we are all anticipating the first "complete" paradox game, AoD, ironically not even made by paradox.

AoD will revitalize the HOI2 community for at least a few more years.

It will take atleast some years, before hoi 3 can even be considered as a game eqal to hoi 2.

Well, I think people will quickly forget about HOI2 when AOD comes out. From that point on, 'HOI2' simply means 'Arsenal of Democracy HOI2'. I'm very anxious to see the release, everyting I've seen looks just right. It's basically HOI2 with every suggestion put in ever made by the fans (and fully ignored by the paradox team). Finally, a HOI made by a great team of developers

I rather think AoD as a game made by fellow gamers. They know what we want, how we want and why we want. That's why it's a wet dream for us HoI 2 fans. I for one see it as a saviour from the scourge that is HoI 3. If I had to put up with that modern shit till a new game came out I would probably forget about the series for good.

AoD is an addon for the game HOI 2 (Even if its called a stand alone). What you claim here is the eqialent of that hoi DD or ARMA would take over hoi 2.

Whilst DD and ARMA improved the basic HoI2 AoD seems to be a totally different game just with the same grpahics and basic of HoI2. It will be so much bigger and so much better

You couldn't be more wrong, and I'm sure that everyone will agree with us.

Ya tell that story to someone else. You are still one account TRP (Comon Laurence, now you suddenly edit the post lol, show some backbone). even if you represent 2 people. And AoD also doesnt change the essence of HOI 2, so its still more then MOD or addon then a stand alone, so you are wrong, if you want to be told this directly.

The developers describe it as 'Hearts of Iron 2 on steroids'. And, given the stuff I've seen, I'm inclined to agree

Why do you have to be so anarchistic on EVERYTHING ? AoD changes the whole concept of the game and adds a lot of stuff to it. It's barely HoI anymore, it's a game built on the same engine and a stand alone.

Also, didn't DD and ARMA take over HoI 2 ? Who plays vanilla HoI 2 anymore ?
