Chapter 10: Goering's Finest Hour

Front Line Air command Base Northern France Mid November 1940

Goering: Men we stand at a cross roads in History. What we do now determines not just our lives but the lives of generations to come.

Ribbentrop: Well spoken Goering. Now It seems the Russians were determined to gab even more land snatching up Bessarabia from the Romanians who then tried to join the Axis and extended negotiations took place to determine if we should accept their offer.

hoi3114.jpg

Ribbentrop: While negotiations were continuing the Hungarians decide to make the most of Romania's weakness and force them to give Transylvania over to them. We elected to support the Hungarians in this move.

hoi3115.jpg

Ribbentrop: With Our support the Hungarians were able to force Romania to give in an secede Transylvania.

hoi3116.jpg

Ribbentrop: This of course delayed the agreement with Romania and in this interlude the Bulgarians made claims on a area of southern Romania called Dobrogea. With this done the Romanian Government was desperate for outside assistance to avoid being further dismembered and they were willing to agree to just about anything to join the Axis. We said that they had to provide fuel and oil from the Polesti oilfields and assist the German Army whenever Possible.

hoi3120.jpg

Ribbentrop: Grateful for our help the Bulgarians then began aligning towards us in order to possible become full Members of the Axis Alliance in the future.

hoi3123.jpg

Ribbentrop: Then Mussolini asked if we wanted assistance against the British. I asked how could he help us. He suggested that he could attack from Libya into Egypt and seize Cairo and the Suez Canal destroying the British ability to continue resistance as such moves would defiantly ruin British Moral and aid in the War effort.

Mussolini: And of Course My legions of Ninja are beating back the British forces opposing them with ease. Soon Alexandria and Cairo will be mine.

hoi3124.jpg

Ribbentrop: Seeing as we are at war with the Allies we felt it Prudent to conduct negotiations with the Chinese concerning the Possibility of an alliance against the Japanese although we would not provide direct assistance right away as we had other enemies closer to home.

hoi3125.jpg

Ribbentrop: This bolstered our support as well increasing the capacity of our spies and researchers as now we were trading intel with both Italians and the Chinese. However in retaliation for excepting the Chinese into an alliance the Japanese embargoed us. OF course this has no effect as we don't trade with Japan.

hoi3126.jpg

hoi3127.jpg

Ribbentrop: Then The British decided to attack the Fleet of their former Ally France Destroying it. The British are more foolish than it seems as this has only driven the Vichy French closer to us and If they join we'll be even stronger.

hoi3128.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also It seems that Mussolini may have overstretched himself as he has just entered a war with Greece while many of his forces are fighting a desperate war in Africa but I'm sure he can handle it well enough if he can get enough forces into Albania.

hoi3132.jpg

Raeder: The war in the Atlantic is going well we are now using the Ports in Brittany to extend our range out into the Atlantic and are now using the Medium range ones to cover the area closer to the British Isles while our longer range ones cover areas further away.

hoi3121.jpg

Raeder: We have also begun construction of large naval bases at the ports on the Western Coast of France to house the Wolf packs and give them a large base to hide in when Damaged. While we have been attacked several times we are still yet to lose a submarine group.

hoi3122.jpg

Beck: As well as starting the Battle of Britain and trying to disable the British air force.

Goering: Yes My finest hour.

Beck: IT would be but some of our squadrons are trying to find ways of flying pieces of scrap metal as our planes are wearing themselves into the Ground. IF we don't let some of the squadrons repair some damage they may simply no longer be able to operate as units.

Goering: I'll have to consider it.

Beck: Anyway we launched operation Weserubung and Marines invaded Denmark while Paratroopers prepare to fly to Norway.

hoi3129.jpg

Beck: Some Paratroopers landed at Bergen seizing it unopposed. Some then flew up to Trondheim which after several days of fighting by the outnumbered defenders resulted in them falling back.

hoi3130.jpg

Beck: During this time our Marines stormed through Denmark sweeping aside all resistance and then moved north to prepare for landings at Oslo.

hoi3131.jpg

Beck: While This was going on our Paratroopers at Bergen Then landed at the northern Port of Narvik capturing it after another battle with local forces. This combined with our landings at Oslo forced the Norwegian government to flee to Britain.

hoi3133.jpg

Goering: Since the last meeting we have formed four Paratrooper Divisions.

Goebbels: While We have developed or advanced tactical air command, ground attack tactics, CAS pilot training, CAS ground crew training, strategic bomber armament, heavy tank brigade, carrier hanger, port strike tactics, naval strike efficiency, naval air targeting, schwerpunkt, NAV tactics, large bomb, NAV ground crew training, NAV pilot training and mobile warfare.

Goering: Beck et ready for sealion I have an Idea on how to do it.

Beck: Ok then Goering we'll be ready soon.

Chapter 11: Sealion Take 1

Goering's bunker in Paris Mid February 1941

Goering: How is every one?

Hess: Everyone seems fine except Raeder who has been crying for hours.

Goering: Oh that's not good we'll sort that out at the end.

Goebbels: We would be better except it seems your tastes for extravagant things are hurting the economy and the war effort.

Goering: Oh dear I'll try to cut back.

hoi3141.jpg

Ribbentrop: well the Bulgarians have joined with us.

Goering: Oh yeh more friends.

Ribbentrop: I doubt their real military capacity but I hope they'll be some use.

hoi3140.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also the Americans decided to give aid to the allies 90% of it and all the useful stuff was given to the Chinese the rest was mostly junk and ammunition for 19th century weapons. As you would expect of our friends they did this on purpose.

hoi3142.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also we signed a new deal with the soviets so that they give us more resources and we give them supplies. it's a good deal I feel and we may continue this for some time. We also solved a few minor border disputes in the process.

hoi3144.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also to try and help out the Italians in Greece who are failing we got the Bulgarians to attack them and we may need to do something about north africa as the British are starting to gain the Upper hand.

hoi3148.jpg

Beck: We began Sealion after we were forced to ground most planes for repairs and landed at Lowestoft and rapidly tried to get reinforcements to the paratroopers who had landed there.

hoi3134.jpg

Beck: With the Marines having landed we began pushing outwards to take control of the region and prepare for the inevitable counter attack. This lead to a victory at Ipswich where we defeated local home guard forces.

hoi3135.jpg

Beck: As part of this drive to take control of more land we fought a battle at Thetford and once again defeated the British.

hoi3136.jpg

Beck: Seeking to expand towards London we then took Southend after a bloody battle.

hoi3137.jpg

Beck: As all of our troops needed more supply than Lowestoft could provide we moved North to take Grimsby and won a battle at Lincoln before marching unopposed into Grimsby.

hoi3138.jpg

Beck: However we were forced to pull back from Grimsby with help from the navy and then tried to push for London but again failed to make enough headway and had to pull back once more. We then tried a second landing in Wales at Pembroke and pushed forward towards Cardiff hoping the Port could help supply our troops and won At Cardigan.

hoi3145.jpg

Beck: However we were stopped and forced to pull back and evacuate Britain and we were relatively successful getting all except one paratrooper division out of east Anglia but lost 3 infantry divisions in Wales.

Goering: Harsh Loses new troops will replace them But why is Raeder so unhappy.

Beck: He hasn't said but the report states that their is new escort technology in Britain but no U-boats have been lost so I'm not sure.

hoi3146.jpg

Goering: Raeder what is wrong?

Raeder: The fleet is gone.

Goering: You've lost your fleet.

Raeder: Well not all of it but all of the transports and screens. Only the 5 capital ships remain. During the Pull out of Grimsby we engaged the British and took out some destroyers.

hoi3139.jpg

Raeder: Then during the Wales operation we fought again and took out a heavy cruiser.

hoi3143.jpg

Raeder: Then as we were moving to begin evacuation we lost the first few destroyers and we also at some point lost more to air attacks but we did take out two heavy cruisers and a light cruiser.

hoi3147.jpg

Raeder: Then while we were trying to get more men out of Wales we lost more ships including two light cruisers and a few destroyers for the cost of 3 groups of american Destroyers.

hoi3149.jpg

Raeder: By the time we got back with the last of our men we could get out of their only the capital ships remained.

Frick: Well our spies have managed to find out plenty of intel on those american destroyers. They were right when they said they were obsolete 1000 years ago.

Raeder: What do you mean?

Frick: From detailed analysis of survivors descriptions of the Ships we now have a good Idea what they look like and here is what they have come up with.

Trireme-image.jpg

Raeder: You mean we were fighting ships used by the Romans and Greeks.

Frick: Well copies with a little more armour and rock lobbing catapults using slightly more modern technology.

Goering: Well as well as the 10 mountain divisions we have built we have also formed 15 squadrons of naval aircraft which will find vengeance for your lost fleet.

Goebbels: Technological improvements we have made are Strategic air command, fighter ground control, strategic bombing tactics, sonar decoys, tactical air command, operation Tannenbaum, under way refuelling sub, tactical command structure, ground attack tactics, CAS Pilot training, CAS ground crew training, Carrier AA armament, Carrier Engine, NAV Air targeting, Air launched torpedo, Naval Strike tactics, port strike tactics, Strategic bomber armament, combined arms warfare, NAV tactics, single engine aircraft armament, Large bomb and NAV ground crew training.

Goering: Wonderful what is our next move

Beck: Well their is the Swiss as well as trouble with Yugoslavia.

Raeder: What about my fleet.

Goering: Raeder when we have modern tech I will build you a carrier strike force to rule the seas with.

Goebbels: Where will we get the resources.

Goering: You remember Todt.

Goebbels: Yes vaguely

Goering: Well he's just the Man we need call him to see if he wants to be armaments minister instead of me.

Goebbels: Ok

Goering: Well everyone get moving we have work to do.

nice progress. do you intend to attack the soviets this year(1941) or leave it untill they are stronger?

I don't think I'll have finished Britain off before it's too late in the year to attack Soviets It'll be in a couple of years. They can't get that much stronger can they.

Chapter 12: Tannenbaum, Marita and the Mediterranean

Goering's Alpine base. Switzerland 50km east of Bern Early August 1940

Goering: Ok everyone this is Todt the new minister for Armaments.

Todt: Pleased to meet you all though I have deduced that Germany needs more industry to produce all of your demands so please limit them for the short term will you.

Goering: Don't worry only anything deemed vital will be put before your industry you say we need.

Todt: And I will use my skills to benefit Germany as best as I can.

hoi3150.jpg

Bormann: Well it's a shame about Hess.

Goering: If he was going to go and be an idiot like he was did he have to steal one of my planes couldn't he have made do with a civilian plane or a civilian boat instead. Of course he wasn't stupid enough to try and take one of the military ships but still did he have to take one of my planes.

Bormann: It shouldn't matter I'm more than up to this job.

hoi3153.jpg

Goering: What is this about Gibraltar.

Ribbentrop: We decided to call in the Nationalists to help us in capturing both the Belgium and French territories in Africa and Gibraltar. They have done the later with some help from us and are trying to do the Former.

Goering: Still it's helping to lift my mood.

hoi3152.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also Siam has joined the allies.

Goering: Ok then we'll not have to worry too much about them but the Chinese might.

Ribbentrop: Not really what does Siam hope to do a reasonably small army and navy and such. They may do okay as the Chinese are very busy up in Manchuria trying to drive out the Japs.

hoi3159.jpg

Todt: This has to be mentioned. I have been able to secure access to some Heavy Water from a Norwegian plant and have built a prototype Nuclear reactor. Goebbels has told me that many scientists who work for him are eager to use it to advance our knowledge and possibly according to them create a super weapon of unimaginable power.

Goebbels: Yes Todt you are correct we are for now calling the Program the Spandau Project.

hoi3154.jpg

Beck: After the Failure of Sealion mark1 the high command decided to Look at other possible plans to weaken the British to enable Final victory. We began with an assault on the British Island of Malta which came after heavy bombing raids on the Island neutralised the Garrison effectively.

hoi3151.jpg

Beck: We then moved to get the Spanish to take Gibraltar securing the Straits of Gibraltar for our fleets and conveys. We then Launched an airborne attack on Cyprus but were unopposed in this operation. After that in the Mediterranean we moved to Greece to support our Bulgarian and Italian Allies attacks on it and secure part of the Peloponnese around the Port of Patra after a fierce battle.

hoi3160.jpg

Beck: We then moved to secure other areas but the Greeks then refused surrendered to the Italians before we could consolidate our hold leaving the rest of the area in their hands.

hoi3161.jpg

Beck: At the same time we made an assault on the Swiss army catching them off guard with a daring full scale assault on their mountain forts.

hoi3155.jpg

Beck: The Swiss tried to put up a fight against us but were caught off guard and were outnumbered and attacked from all sides and we did face sizeable resistance at Bern the Capital which was fortified but was not enough to stop our forces. The Swiss government was somehow able to flee to London by Plane or something despite our forces utterly surrounding them on all sides.

hoi3158w.jpg

Beck: After Switzerland and Greece we launched our attack on Yugoslavia in order to crush the government which was opposing our plans. There had also been a coup of sorts which removed the leaders friendly to our interests. So we had to attack them after this direct insult to our Ideology which has I have to admit been reformed since Goering came in. The worst parts of Hitler's Ideas are now gone but still the Yugoslavs decided to launch this unforgettable coup against people of our ideology or at least leaning towards it.

hoi3163.jpg

Beck: We launched para drops against several major cities in Yugoslavia taking over them as well as an attack from the German Border. With our forces massed against them they soon collapsed in the face of our attack against them and the Government fled.

hoi3164.jpg

Beck: One other thing is that the British have ordered reinforcements to Africa after our intention to reinforce the Italians became clear. We are still working on a 2 corps force to seize control of Africa and aid the hapless Italians.

hoi3157.jpg

Raeder: To help improve my mood Mussolini offered 6 groups of Italian subs to assist in paroling the Seas to destroy British conveys. While I doubt their quality we decided to deploy them around the Home Isles as they are reasonably expendable to us. They may catch a few conveys.

hoi3156.jpg

Raeder: Then seemingly just to annoy me we discovered that the British were trying to work with the Americans to protect conveys. I was just about to insult the Americans before they told me they would only half heartedly protect the conveys and when they are at the end of their escort they would tell us were they are so we could close in for the kill.

hoi3162.jpg

Todt: While I have been in control I have only been able to pre build two ports for Sealion take 2, 12 interceptor squadrons, 3 infantry units and a Paratrooper unit.

Goebbels: We have advanced or developed in this time period NAV pilot training, strategic air command, fighter ground control, airborne assault tactics, spearhead doctrine, carrier hanger, radar decoys, sonar decoys, medium bomb, Operation Seelow (Seelion), singe engine airframe, light bomb development, small fuel tank, Naval air targeting, Naval strike tactics, Superior fire power, Port strike tactics, Advanced aircraft designs, Aero engine, Basing, Airborne warfare equipment, NAV tactics, Special forces, twin engine aircraft armament, Africa Korps, Strategic Air command, Airborne assault tactics, Trade interdiction submarine doctrine, Cargo Hold, submarine crew training, carrier AA armament, Carrier Engine, Radar decoys and Fleet Auxiliary carrier Doctrine.

Ribbentrop: One more thing Goering. We have managed to create a puppet state in Croatia which will help maintain local order for now. Eventually they will grow stronger and may help in limited Military roles.

Goering: Great people lets go.

hoi3165.jpg

How could Seelöwe fail?

Well one I was fighting Armour with infantry and limited air support and 2 I was having supply problems. However the British AI is broken at the moment. After Playing the next update I had a look at their build queue and they had no conveys but only 10 in production and 160 conveys in production with about 67 available. I'm thinking of giving them some conveys so my subs have something to hunt.

Chapter 13: Africa

Goering's Mountain Holdout in the Peloponnese. Late November 1941

Goering: What do you think of my base?

Bormann: It's quite impressive but do you really need massive death Lasers and impregnable force field generators which produce an impregnable shield.

Goering: Of course without them I would be venerable to attack by outside forces.

Ribbentrop: Any way after we finished Planning it turns out that a Finnish Liaison Officer in Berlin to the German Army found out about the plan and contacted his government. They then proposed that they could be part of the Plan to attack the Soviet Union.

hoi3166.jpg

Raeder: Whahaha.

Goering: Raeder is in evil villain mood right now. What's up?

Raeder: The Wolfs now have the ultimate bases to stalk their prey from?

Goering: Cool.

hoi3167.jpg

Raeder: I think I founf the British fleet.

Goering: You mean the rest of the fleet after I sunk those two carrier battle groups in port.

Raeder: In Alexandria.

Goering: Let me have a look. (looks at the report) This is a worrying development.

Raeder: What the fact that the bulk of the british fleet is still in the Mediterranean.

Goering: No That they are trying to convince us that there fleet is smaller than it is by naming more than half of it the 4th transport ship squadron.

Raeder: There is that as well.

hoi3169.jpg

Goering: Well the air campaign has restarted and are weakening the British by preventing them mining resources and flatting factories and destroying units and putting runways out of action. Every destroyed Unit is a bonus as the British can't build more due to the Fact that there build AI has gone wacky.

Beck: We have also deployed the Africa Corps to Africa using borrowed Italian transports.

hoi3168.jpg

Beck: We rapidly walked across the north African coast towards the Italian Front lines. We then charged to the Suez Canal. But in Deploying one of our infantry divisions we lost a transport. But they're Italian so who cares here. We then Stormed up to the Canal and took the Western Bank before crossing at the north. Here is one report of the Battles fought.

hoi3170.jpg

Beck: These victories gave us control over the Mediterrain as well as the Suez Canal. Bringing many benefits to the New German empire and the Italian Empire.

hoi3171.jpg

Todt: Well we have built 5 African Infantry and 2 African Motorised.

Goebbels: We have developed or advanced Naval air targeting, Naval strike tactics, Port strike tactics, Large fuel tank, Industrial Production, Light cruiser main armament, Nav tactics, Medium fuel tank, Operation Barbarossa, Light Cruiser AA Armament, Light cruiser engine, Light cruiser armour, Carrier hanger, Four engine airframe, Assault concentration, Basing, Small search Radar, Medium search Radar, Strategic Air command, Airborne assault tactics, Unrestricted submarine warfare doctrine and Brigade Herman Goering.

Goering: Good work People lets get going to do some more.

Very nice AAR. ;)

Fear the mighty 4th Transports!

Yeh that is a massive fleet they are tearing apart my Naval bombers like a wooden shack in a hurricane

Very nice AAR. ;)

thanks for the encouragement

Wow...The Brits are getting smarter, yet Germans outsmarted them :D

I'm not sure what you mean by getting smarter. They have what to a lesser degree is there entire fleet now stuck in the Mediterranean with the Only base up in Palestine. After that ALL their bases belong to me

Next step Kapstadt?

Yeh but might be a race against the Spanish or Portuguese. I'll need to call the Portuguese in if the Spanish are going to get there.

I'll probably give the British a pile of Conveys just to make the life of my U-boat captains more interesting they sink more conveys of British Allies than ones of the British themselves right now I think. Do you agree and if so now many?

Edit: Since I want to get this moving quicker I'll just add 2000. It shouldn't affect North Africa much but will help their resources slightly maybe. It should be plenty to keep them going for a while and their are using tons of the things.

Chapter 14: Sealion take 2 part 1

Goering's Paris Apartment Late January 1941

Goering: We have to move quicker Ribbentrop any thing of Note that needs to be mentioned.

Ribbentrop: The only thing of any relative note is that in an attempt to reinforce their lost holdings in north Africa they are trying to send more reinforcements. It's hopeless they should realize. Their forces are out of supply and doomed to be driven into the sea.

hoi3175.jpg

Raeder: I have nothing to report.

Beck: Ok then Goering Your going to like all the good news about Sealion. We decided to start with Para drops in Cornwall and deployed one of the Mulberry Harbours. However we then swiftly captured Plymouth with another Para drop.

hoi3172.jpg

Beck: Swiftly our forces at Exeter came under attack by the Brits but after a long and fierce battle drove them back while we waited for our transports to get round so they could transport the army across.

hoi3173.jpg

Beck: With reinforcements having been pushed in to hold the line we began expanding the beachhead and were able to drive British forces towards lands end after beating them back at Bodmin.

hoi3174.jpg

Beck: In order to try and expand our position more quickly a secondary assault was launched at Bournemouth. This also began to expand and managed to take after a hefty fight the port of Portsmouth. At the same time our forces also finally repelled a long running attack at Exeter.

hoi3176.jpg

Beck: After Defeating them at Exeter we took the offensive driving them back and continuing to expand the Bridgehead. This lead to an attack on Bristol to expand our forces access to resupply if more was needed. Around the same time we moved into East Anglia hoping to catch the British off guard and defeat them quicker.

hoi3177.jpg

Beck: After this we attack into Wales and pushed eastward and northward. We were able to reach the Edge of London and Dover and we were able to defeat British forces at Bideford resulting in about 10000 British dead and around 80000 captured.

hoi3178.jpg

Beck: We then were able to push around London and cut it off from the Rest of the Country. We then continued to press north Towards Birmingham and the other Ports of the North considered strategically important. We then began a siege of London and after much heavy fighting the local defence forces surrendered to us and the city fell to us.

hoi3179.jpg

Beck: We later took Dover while pushing further North towards the New Capital of Edinburgh We gained a strategic Bonus for holding the English Channel which help convince people that all was great and decreased dissent. We have heard that the new Government in Scotland is now known at least locally as the United Government of Scotland, Northern England, Northern Wales and Northern Ireland against the Germans. It will not last long as our forces are rapidly advancing Northwards taking over much of the Country.

hoi3180.jpg

Todt: Well all we have built is some industrial units and A unit of Africa Corps Panzers and 5 landing Craft.

Goebbels: We have only advanced or developed Mechanized Infantry, industrial efficiency, Amphibious warfare Equipment and Radar equipment.

Goering: Well Men soon the British will be crushed and this new government the UGSNENWNIATG will be shattered.

Chapter 15: Sealion take 2 part 2

Houses of Parliament London Late April 1942

Goering: Quickly Ribbentrop tell me anything you feel is important so we can get onto more important stuff.

Ribbentrop: Our spies have suggested that the Soviet Union was looking into the Possibility of a preemptive strike against us but they decided not to go through with it yet.

hoi3186.jpg

Beck: We continued to push northwards against the British. We were able to take the important port of Hull after a fierce battle.

hoi3181.jpg

Beck: We then continued to push north and seized control of Newcastle after another hard fought battle against dogged enemies.

hoi3182.jpg

Beck: Sensing victory was close at hand we moved against the replacement capital at Edinburgh and engaged tired troops and again drove them into the Country side away from the City.

hoi3183.jpg

Beck: At this point they fled into exile but the Italians for some reason were able to grab all the land in Britain we hadn't got to yet.

hoi3184.jpg

Beck: Then In order to finish off sealion we attack Ireland landing troops at Cork who then pushed their way up the country towards Dublin were they defeated the Local Irish Forces.

hoi3187.jpg

Beck: However before we could enter the city we came across more troops deployed against us but we again quickly put them to flight.

hoi3188.jpg

Beck: The Irish Government then fled to hide with the other allied governments in Exile.

hoi3189.jpg

Todt: We have built 4 more industrial facilites and have begun Forming a second brigade of the Großdeutschland division which you have shown interest in.

hoi3185.jpg

Goebbels: We have advanced or developed large search RADAR, carrier AA armament, Carrier Engine, education, Light cruiser main armament, Carrier group doctrine, Light cruiser AA armament, light cruiser engine, RADAR detector equipment, Russian railways, Large warship RADAR, light cruiser armour, airborne assault tactics, Basing, light cruiser escort role, Large U-boat conning tower, Nuclear research, Carrier Hanger, Medium air search RADAR, Small air search RADAR, small arms, Heavy tank gun, Winter clothes, Infantry warfare, Light Jagers.

Goering: Good Now leave people.

I love your AAR :)

Could you make an update about what is going on in Asia? I love the fact that you chose to side with N.China, which gives another taste to your story.

Keep on doing this great job!
