I wanted to play Syria but I think they are a part of the Ottoman Empire at the start, so I will play Persia instead.

I'm not sure if Syria is releasable but if it is, you can just start up at OE and release them.

The Third Reich used the pre-existing concept of Greater Germany as pretext for invading and annexing Austria, so in a way, yes.

Possibly Sweden or Bavaria.. or maybe CSA.
For once I don't want to be a colonizing power, any good ideas?

Depends on your type of playing. I respect the history as it was, in a way, for example, if Austria had no colonies, then I wouldn't colonise anything. If Austria conquered Bosnia, I'd conquer it. So I'd give Austria a go in that way.

Prussia with no colonies to go Grossdeutschland. I'll probably with for PDM to come out so I can Blitz russia in a great war though.
