Budapest, Hungary

With the Hungarian people and even the Ministers of Government at home with their families or at the local pub celebrating the
New Year, Admiral Horthy Miklos, Crown Regent of Hungary, is taken hostage by members of the National Socialist Party of Hungary.
He is then brought before Zoltan Mesko, leader of the newly formed Party. It is not known what happened to Admiral Miklos, but when
he stumbled into his office later on that morning everyone just assumed he had had a little too much to drink the night before.

Within Hours of his arrival, Miklos had wired Berlin requesting a Military Alliance of sorts. Three hours later while Miklos was
having dinner a telegram came directly from the Fuhrer's office in Berlin. Inside were instructions for Miklos to meet him at a Hotel in Dresden on the 10th of
January to discuss the terms of this new "Alliance".

Having left the night before Miklos and Mesko arrived in Dresden early in the morning on the 10th of January, both exhausted after the
trainride through Czechslovakia, proceeded to walk to the Hotel where they would meet the Fuhrer to begin discussing the future of their
two nations.

After a long day of negotiations, Miklos and Mesko emerged from the Hotel and hopped on the next train back to Budapest,
carrying with them the recently signed German-Hungarian Treaty of Alliance and Mutual Assistance, in which the two parties agreed to bacak the other in any military conflict they found themselves engaged in. The Germans also agreed to aid in attempts to modernise the outdated and obselete equiptment and training of the current Hungarian Army.

I will continue this sometime tomorrow, please tell me what you think of it so far.
Thank you to "AHomicidalMarshmallow" for helping me out a lot with this project so far.

Looks interesting as Hungary has the potential to become a big-ish nation by 1939.

Nice, I will follow this.

In the late hours of the night we received news from our Embassy in China that the nation of "Yunnan" had joined the Nationalist Chinese in their fight against Communism. Miklos was unsure why he was informed of this, Hungary, after all, had nothing to do with China.

His voice heard throughout all of Hungary, Crown Regent Horthy Miklos publicly promoted Major General Jany, Commander of the Budapest Garrison, to the rank of Lieutenant General stating that "In the years to come, we will need more great men like him."

During a meeting between Regent Horthy Miklos and National Socialist Party leader Zoltan Mesko, Mesko revealed his intentions to forcefully take back the Hungarian lands in Transylvania, now a part of Romania. After first hearing this Miklos protested stating that Hungary could not currently handle a war. Miklos, however, gave into the demands of Mesko after being reminded of their new ally in Berlin, and called a meeting of the General Staff to begin on the 20th of February.

Earlier today Miklos dispatched the newly promoted 'Chief of the Army' to Berlin, there he was to request military support for the future conflict against Romania.
