By researching hangar tech's you can reduce a ship's visibility.
An aircraft carrier can go from visibility 100 to 60 from 1916 to 1947 tech's.
What impact does this have on gameplay? Is it worth researching these tech's?
Does someone have the gamemechanics to explain the impact?

Less visibility = less probability of beeing detected

also, it probably affects the ability of your enemy to hit you during a naval battle

that's my 2 cents

Think of this as representing improved patrols, both to eliminate (or drive off) hostile scouts as well as early detection (for the purpose of evading yourself).

I do know what visibility should be doing or what it's intended to do. The question is if it works? And or someone know the game mechanics.
I can remember a thread many months ago about only to invest in engine and AA tech for Carriers. As with toughness and defensiveness not working
properly, at that time, either. Maybe this was adressed in FTM.

Yes in 3.05 FTM carriers gain hull from researching armor techs so it's very worthwhile, in fact so much that it can make carriers with 1944 tech more durable then early models of Battleships.

About visibility I have no idea, it's a very strange game mechanic.

Carriers did not need hull, because they could not be hit if you had the proper speed escorts etc. Is this Fixed aswell

Ofcourse carriers always needed hull... Hull reduced ALL damage (including from hostile CAGs/NAVs).

A carrier with 2.00 hull will survive with 25% strength left in a situation where a carrier with 1.50 hull is on the bottom of the seas sunk by enemy Airpower.

This always baffled me. It's not like in WW2 they had any stealth technology to make a bigger carrier somehow less visible than a smaller one. The only ship in HOI that makes sense to be less visible is the submarine.
