Land Seizure Compensation Act: No The farmers cannot pay for it.
Reclaim Our Youth Bill: NO We go in for sanity round here.
Equality Act: Yes
Industrial Encouragement Act: No I have already stated my opposition to tariffs.

I will comply, Mr President. May I remind you that the mapuche kids are being given a proper chilean christian education by our best jesuit monks? I will make sure Chile will be famous because of its quality education!

The Archbishop, minister of religious affairs

I am sure that you would be the first to complain if Chileans in Iraq were being given a 'proper Iraqi mulsim education' as they doubtless call it. Try and be a little more considerate to other cultures.

"Sigh...this republic...it weakens with every election. The foundations that were set by the forefathers of this nation have withered and died, and in its wake corruption and civil war have sprung. Never the less, the current government cannot possibly harm the people more then Andonists can, so I hereby SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT."

The navy stands for the government.

Land Seizure Compensation Act: Abstain. The Interior Ministry can use this for good or they could mess things up even more.

I am surprised nobody, other than the president himself, has asked for intervention in Haiti. The pacifist socialists have finally defeated the hawks in the right wing of the senate.

Mr Bevan these people do not know how to read and write, and only know the most basic parts of spanish. They do not know much of our industrial society and must be taught their rights so that they are not fooled and oppressed. They dont stand a chance in this heavily competitive market. If I didnt ask for their education, they would starve in the city slums.

As I mentioned before in regards to the Haiti revolution, I propose the following to prevent our allies being overthrown by radical governments

Allied Government Stability Act

1. The President is authorized to use Chilean Military Forces to intervene against rebels attempting to overthrow an allied government in our sphere.

2. Chile will also give military aid to allied governments facing a rebellion.

As chief of staff I cannot lead troops in support of the government, but the general staff are at the full disposal of the president and our commanders in the field.

At the news that men had rebelled in the name of Andonie, I felt a strange stirring and an urge to action. However the strange moment passed and I and all my troops completly support the Government.

The Mapuche peoples shall remain neutral in this era of internal strife. We hope however that the rebels can see past their short sightedness and reintegrate into Chile's peacefull democracy.

I meant they should not be taught that our way of life is the only way. That does not mean they should not be educated, indeed I would prefer for that to be taught to htem than they have no education at all.

Dear friends and allies of the Congreso,

I come before you today with an impassioned plea. As you may know, I introduced the controversial Industrial Encouragement Act earlier this term, and I am thrilled to see that it has garnered support among many. Unfortunately, I see too that the question of a tariff has raised issues among our liberal compatriots.

It takes not a genius to understand that the people of Chile yearn for the Government to represent their interests in the way they elected. Thus, to placate the disgruntled populace, we must lower taxes on every strata!

They note that Chile is a world power, but what is a world power if it has a dependent economy? One can ride from sunrise to sunset for a week and see not a fraction of Chilean lands! Surely there is enough in our beloved homeland to allow a subsistent economy!

Therefore, for the sake of Chilean independence and prosperity, I ask that those who abstain reconsider their stances! We are a beacon of light for the Americas, and we must be reliant on ourselves! We should be exporters of Chilean goods, not importers of English, Austrian, even French goods!

It is time that the Congreso truly concerned itself with the Chilean industrial complex, and not just the delicate and arrogant Europeans!

My voting will go as follows:

I am for the Government

Land Seizure Compensation Act: No, this act must first be amended
Reclaim our youth bill: Yes, the Comunistas must be disarmed.
Equality Act: No, this act must be amended to remove the clause regarding International recognition. You forfeit your aboriginal identity by requesting citizenship.
Industrial Encouragement Act: Yes

Faithfully Yours,

Senator Alejandro Ruiz de Escovedo

We should prevent importing by producing more, not by forcing Chileans to either buy nothing or pay far more foreign goods.

You make my point! We must make more goods in Chile as opposed to relying on foreign goods! The way to jump start our domestic industry is by raising the prices on European goods that serve only to make other nations stronger.

Our industry has grown by 33% in the first two years of my Presidency. One of the greatest industrial booms ever seen. I am not sure why it needs to be jump started as Chilean industry is strong and growing faster than ever before. Getting rid of the socialist government and a restoration of a free economy was the jump start our industry needed and it responded brilliantly.

1891 Land Reform Act

The Government of Chile will form a committee with the goal to create fair deals between the aristocracy and the peasantry over the land seized by President Gogolow. The committee's sole purpose is to create deals and contracts, not to seize land form either the peasantry or the elite. If a deal cannot be worked out, the aristocracy will be compensated with unused government owned land of the same value.

On the other proposals

Land Seizure Compensation Act: No
Reclaim Our Youth Bill: No
Equality Act: Yes
Industrial Encouragement Act: temporarily Abstain

On the last proposal, I want to discuss with my secretaries in the Treasury Ministry over whether to support such legislation (TH, can you give me a rundown of the economy?). once I have ascertained that, I will cast my vote. As well, I am still opposed to tariff increases.

I take offence to that, my good Sir. I did not seize the land, nor did I vote in favour of that act as there were a few things which I felt should've been changed. You may ask why I did not use a Presidential veto. That is because I respect the voice of the People and will not seek to overrule it.

President,

I grow increasingly concerned by the day. You must admit that it is common knowledge that unfortunately, the recent economic boon was by no means attributable to you, or anyone else in the government.

We must be responsible for ourselves! I urge you to support my bill, because it employs founding bastions of conservatism! You are one of the most well-respected presidents to ever walk the halls of La Moneda, and I truly need your backing here.

If we are to keep the policies of the status quo, what good was the Republicano platform upon which you ran and won?
