Ah....Lil Goring sure is a cute furball....and so properly dressed with his Officer's cap and IC 1st Class. Not quite as rotund as the Reichmarshall....but surely wel fed!

Sometimes I wonder if the spies will disreard the warning (Spies Please do not Read!) as so much information is passed on in the WN&WR. Is this publication only sold to members of the Armed Forces?? Maybe it should be put into code so that a "decoder ring" has to be used......

Its distributed through the Wehrmacht Department of Recreation, so I think only Wehrmacht Members, government officials, their families and probably recruitment centers recieve copies, so I'm sure its pretty secure.

As to Generalmajor Ott - I wonder what the German word for 'stalking' is? :)

Thoroughly enjoyed the 'awards ceremony' for the invasion of Switzerland, as well as Paul's succinct "Osterbrook is a tremendous ass" comment. Is I. Alpendivision's insignia (or purported insignia - the workmanship is suspiciously poor) perhaps another contribution by Paul, to get back at the Austrians? ;)

Lil' Goring (although I fail to see what's so Lil' about him - he strikes me as a very <ahem> 'healthy', in a happy Buddha kinda way, cat) is impressive. And disturbing. I wonder if LG has some role to play in Oberleutnant Rohmann's current lack of career progress...

So good to see that Germany is very actively desiring peace through that old Roman saw, "If you desire peace, prepare for war". Clearly, the Germans really want to stay at peace. Especially when it comes to Poland.

The Germans get really peaceful with Czechoslovakia this issue! And Lil'Goring will appear again (at least, I know he comes up in one of the 1941 issues)

well give it Martin, I thought he'd reached new epic standards of brown nosing (or shirting?) in the last issue but that was impressive, as indeed was the uber-sturm kitten

Its good to see Germany still actively preparing for peace by invading Poland and that international opinion now seems to consist purely of Hitler?

and poor Paul ... well he'll have plenty to whinge over now

I'll draw a veil (so to speak) over the Julie Andrews references ... far too scary to contemplate

Oh, give it time...those will get scarier :) and really, if you have one world leader right there in your own country...I'm sure the other countries probably agree with his assessment right?

The contrast between the issue's headline of 'Poland seizes Czechoslovakian lands' and the map directly underneath is delicious. :)

Overall a very business-like issue, but I'm glad to see the occasional barb still makes it past the editors (the continued ridiculing of the Austrians, the somewhat 'personalized' assessment of 5. Infanterie-Division's insignia).

Good stuff! The Good Samaritans of the Wehrmacht stand ready to protect all the peace-loving people of the world (so long as they are German - but then, since all Germans are peace-loving, that must mean that not being German equals not being peace-loving) from the rampant aggression of the Czechoslovaks and the Poles. Germany clearly continues to desire peace most ardently, what with its fervent preparations for the unthinkable horror that one of its menacing Eastern neighbors will decide to take war to the peaceful, not-at-all expansionist, German people.

Excellent edition as always. That PanzerArmee has quite a punch to it, compared to the regular Infantrie Armee.....Does the Kriegsmarine not have any U-boats at all? Not even the old obsolete models from 1936? Just wondering if you will be building any U-boats at all?

There is 1 Med Range sub and 2 coastal subs that Germany starts with. They get split up between the SAGs, but only because I didn't see a reason to scrap them (they do play a rather unexpected role in the war though). In this timeline, the Kriegsmarine decided that submarine warfare failed in WWI and the only way to stop Britain from staging another deadly blockade would be to challenge them on the high seas again...so its a surface fleet only!

Mein Gott! I just hope that Sturmkoala is a disguised Sturmkitten because that animal isn't worthy to be pictured in this Proud National-Socialist Newspaper!

Polish aggression reaches new heights!

Here it is! Sorry for the delay...Playing April-July 1941 took much longer than I anticipated!

Polish aggression reaches new heights!

:D

I know, I know...the lead time between writing and reaction is so great...I didn't know the non-cat entries would prove so unpopular! There aren't many more (I think)

Nice maps and another great Sturmkitten! Meow heil!

It's been a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it! Paul Weiss's inane comment "You can tell I am an expert now because I use technical skiing terms"; Operation Broken Neck (surely it's just conjecture, a simple what-if scenario, in case the ever-aggressive Czechs invade the peace-loving German Empire), Lt. zur See Ritter's mindblowing comparison between civil war victims and fans of losing football teams, and of course General Ott's encounters with Kapitan Von Trapp and the mysterious singing nun/governess. The icing on the cake was editor Oberst Werner's heartfelt apology to 5. Division ("Since I've been ordered to do so:"). :D

It all adds up to a lot of loveliness. :)

poor Martin, the job of a journalist dedicated to the truth is never easy.

Stuyvesant seems to have covered most of the gems, but I'm glad (actually no I'm not) that the mysterious nun spends the winter inside rather than freezing to death.

And ... all those nasty neighbours with their highly aggressive schemes to invade ...

Paul looks like a women...

Also, finally a True and Worthy Sturmkitten!
