RIght now I'm having a blast with a Prussia->NGF->Germany game! Finally managed to learn the ropes of the game.

One thing, however, has got my attention: I've sphered Luxemburg and when formed the NGF had it annexed. I am indeed happy with my acquisition, but since it was a satellite of The Netherlands, how was I supposed to be able to sphere it on the first place? I'm playing AHD 2.31... didn't 1.3 fix that issue? Odd...

Anyways, apart from that, great game! :D

If you want to have a country politically and economically dependent on you, conquer them, wait about 4 years for the truce to disappear. Release them and they are now your substate, then sphere them and they will be politically dependent and economically dependent on you, they'll need you for everything.

or you could puppet and sphere them, which costs almost half the infamy, and you dont take a prestige hit for it?

Still, I recall reading somewhere that you could not sphere puppeted nations... it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever, shouldn't this be impossible?

Not really. It's kinda the entire basis for how the Chinese substate system works, anyway.

Besides, what about when you have a satellite attached to a non-GP, or an unciv? The master can be SOI'd, but the puppet would be immune... which would be silly.
