If you ask for Idaho and fully occupy it, the warscore cost will go down. Some states, especially those for two-state countries, will need 100+, but that will go down.

I know, but 42?

Wisconsin in the Confederacy? :O Lets hope Mexico's newly reformed army will do the trick! Vamos compañeros!

Go Mexico-CSA unholy alliance!

It would be awesome if Mexico could "Manifest Destiny" in the other direction; as in, get free cores on the US.

I agree. After all, who's the one winning all the wars here? :D

Mexico has had a pretty good twenty-five years. It's risen to Great Power status and defeated the USA in several wars. What state are we in now? This at the new Year, so before the civil war.

(1) - My RP has boomed since 1836, it is now at over 16, which means I can research Level Two techs in a little more than eighteen months.

(2) - My militancy is very, very low, but I still have rebels organising.

(3) - I have a pretty substantial army ready to beat the stuffing out of America. We'll see if they do the business soon :)

Next, diplomacy:

v22p.jpg

(1) I'm allied with the UK!

Not much else to say, except Dai Nam has entered my sphere and I'm currently trying to get Belguim in as well (Haiti and Hawaii are in the US's sphere and they just keep knocking me down).

Now, the rankings.

v23m.jpg

My prestige and military have just managed to contain Bavaria's massive industry so far. OTOH, my prestige is holding me back from overtaking Russia.

v24nx.jpg

(1) - Nearly three and a half million people live in our fair land, nearly double what we had at the start of the game.

(2) - Craftsmen are less than 3% of our population, while farmers and labourers are first with 61% and second with 21% respectively. More.. industry...

(3) The amount of parties is ridicolous. What do you need six for?

v25f.jpg

(1) - That descision needs 4 militancy, but if things ever get that bad, I want State Capitalism!

(2) The Conservatives have collapsed from the heady days when they had over fifty percent, and the Liberals have lost ground too. The reactionaries are a little far behind though :)

(3) The oh-so-scary rebels.

v26nd.jpg

Uh....... I think I'll skip this.

v27v.jpg

(1) My seven most profitable factories all come from just three states: Mexico, Yucatan and Nevada-Utah (which unfortunately is on the border). And no, that wasn't deliberate.

(2) My winery in Mexico tops the output, profit and employment charts. Pretty cool, huh?

(3) Canned Food sucks.

More detailed production statistics:

v28r.jpg

Wine is unsuprisingly my biggest export, followed by gold and clothes. But I have to import lots of tea, fruit and grain, which goes under that 42% tariff. Minister of War on standby. Atjeh looks juicy.....

---------------------------------------------------------

And that, my friends, is the state of mexico. It was quite fun to write about this, and finding out what I need to do. Hope you enjoyed it too!

A stable situation, if not perfect. A victory over the US and some security will do some good I hope.

Have you considered sphering some other Latin American nations? I love going after Brazil, in particular, but Argentina is also a productive nation to sphere.

War against America at the perfect time hopefully you can make sizeable gains against them whilst they are busy with the CSA. An interesting overview too, Mexico seems to be growing rather nicely. Curse those canned food factories though!

The cost of Idaho will be halved if you fully occupy it, and getting 21 warscore doesn't seem too difficult, especially if the US are busy fighting the CSA.

I'd have been tempted to demand Missouri, which you do have a very small border with in Oklahoma. Holding Missouri would narrow the US's east-west communications to just Iowa, which could give you a much freer hand in subsequent wars.

21? If I get that far I'll add it.....

As for the east-west thing, to be honest that map's ugly enough already :)

A new update!

It's wartime again.

v21b.jpg

My allies line up behind me in a titianic struggle for North America, involving massive battle, daredevil force marches, audacious attacks and....

Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit. What this war actually involves is a lot of standing around and ocuppying. Apologies if this update is therefore a bit boring.

In fact, it's so boring that one of the most interesting things is joining another war:

v22z.jpg

I accept, since this is pretty much a phoney war. Okay, Russia has some land in North America. But they'd have to go through the USA, and the AI's just too stupid for that level of sophistication.

Proof of this is provided with the fact that when the Geneva Convention appears many countries refuse to sign it - and then immediately use the descision to sign it. Idiots.

v23nk.jpg

My people decide to put anarcho-liberals somewhere near power for some reason. Just cos I suppose.

v24mo.jpg

And finally something interresting, I win a battle (yay!)

v25l.jpg

And then another one.... kind of...

v26z.jpg

Okay, they withdrew because I had a big army on the way. But still, no way in hell was that a victory.

In protest at the losses, Partido Socialist forms.

v27j.jpg

(Yes the anarcho-liberals are in the upper house but don't have a party and the socialists aren't in the upper house but have a party. Sue Johan.)

And the USA offers me a deal to stop the boredom.

v28e.jpg

(For the record, I ocupy all of Oregon, some of Washington and some of Idaho)

I mull over it for a while. Should I ask for more? These are my two options:

v211.jpg

v212.jpg

I consider, but when you look at this:

v213.jpg

Yes, 24,000 troops reduced to 739. And hardly any of that was from combat. Most of it was just getting to combat. The choice is clear:

v214.jpg

Soory about the long gap between updates. School started again and am now a professional time-waster :)

Probably best just accepting the offered peace deal, especially considering the attrition you seem to have suffered! Good that you are continuing to nibble away at America anyway.

Hmph... I think you should have gone on regardless. Will you get as good an opportunity to destroy the USA again, I worry...
