About liberating Germany. I think Nazi germany isn't under Revolt.txt, and Remble explicity stated, that there wasn't going to edit the game.
I was able to release nazi germany pupet after anexing it, playing as Romania if I own most of german privinces (or all of them), except Breslau, Oppeln, Kustrin Konigsberg, Memel. (the ideea was to keep in use germany tech teams which supply me with b.p., because romania have poor tech teams).
If someone else own other german provs. then I can release only FRG and/or DDR.

what makes researching advanced light carrier more important than the other techs? considering the time limit for the game, i think waiting for the advanced light carrier tech to construct it, doesn`t make any difference than constructing improved light carrier, in fact you will get improved light carriers earlier which makes them worthy.

and if you didn`t search advanced light carrier tech, what tech would you research? i think you have your own reasons and i`d like to hear that.

i believe South Africa is not well defended. After Madagascar, the time will come for them and even with two marines and a squadron of TACs, you can annex them soon :D

and i want to share this with you guys, i have no friends around playing this game and i want to talk about it:
i was playing the new Arma patch after a long time and for the first time i failed at Munich agreement and i had to declare war on Czechs, then Poland declared war on me, then France declared war on me and i was just building factories, i didn`t even upgrade the units and they were all in France border. i redeployed them to the East (France declared war after i redeployed my units ), Czechs got Berlin, Anzacs invaded Kiel and it was one of my best games ever :p i am playing in 2Xvery hard and aggressive for AI and normal settings for me. Remble, if it is ok for you, i`m gonna tell the rest in a few sentences. feeling that excitement and not to find anyone to share your feelings, thoughts is killing me. and don`t tell me about making an AAR !

thanks for listening, i feel better now :D

Wow harezmi, I never knew HOI could induce so much angst.

DW, I'm just kidding, I have the same problem actually. Still, you can always just use the regular HOI board to discuss it and you could always make your own AAR provided you aren't god-awful at it (much like myself).

last 20 pages have really only been aircraft flying around and destroying everything. I am not impressed

lol noes!!

Try to get to this point yourself and you will.

Beppo - Thank you. My advance has been pretty quick as is the nature of such things once the enemy has been broken. 10k supplies was quite a lot and is most welcome of course.

Raaritsgozilla, Murmurandus - Thanks. I have made some progress :)

Phax - Land connection with the East Germans is inevitable at some point but it will be my choice when to let it happen :)

FlorisDeVijfde, zdlugasz - I am forbidden from creating puppets :)

alan_le_cowboy - Most former German Allies are neutral. Sooner or later I will dow Romania as it is not Japanese territory :)

Sokraates, Thurak - Fleet presence is required as a battle ends. If there are combat vessels in the channel that blocks an island retreat then the retreating unit(s) are captured as the battle ends. No other checks are made if the unit(s) managed to begin a retreat and they would successfully make the retreat.

Thurak - Thank you. I think that is the second time an enemy Destroyer has managed to sink a Submarine that was with a massive fleet of mine. Shows just how easy Submarines are too sink this late in the War.

Nathan Madien - Poland is going through a failry turbulent period in it's history :)

Krogzar - I was aware of the possible penguin problem which is why I sent the Marines :)

EnglandWarrior - Poland yes, the Soviets have a while to go before I can annex them.

gooy - Roughly a dozen are left.

CaptRobau - Thank you and welcome aboard :)

Blackmamuth - My Submarines are pretty much useless but they can halt an invasion on occasion. The only Diplomatic option I am allowed to use is Annex (besides trade). I will always use it as soon as I can.

harezmi - Manpower constraints make me want to wait to construct anything which is why I chose to make further research in Light Carriers as I will need to build some more modern ones. I could probably get away without building any more combat forces but I prefer to have more than enough if possible. Light Carriers are pretty quick to build. I still need to research better aircraft and a few other things.

You have a very interesting game going on and they are always the best ones to play. Feel free to add more if you wish :)

Dele - Fortunately my aircraft did not rule the skies completely for the first 220 pages :) In the absence of any major ground or naval combat the airforce naturally gets most action unfortunately.

Update to conclude September to follow ...

The Imperial Japanese Navy typically utilised a swift island hopping process which captured as much territory as possible in the shortest time. This kept the invading forces vulnerable for the minimum period and prevented any response from the enemy if conducted fast enough.

sep19480500gr1.jpg

The advance through the southern Indian Ocean had certainly been swift and so far only a minor amount of enemy forces had been able to respond. The loss of the primary American Carrier Task Force to the north had reduced the risk of further operations to a minimum and Ozawa was confident of completing his little advance in a timely manner. The invasion of Madagascar went smoothly with no enemy opposition as Japanese Marines occupied the entire island. Imamura remained to garrison the port and airbase in the north but Banzai had another job to complete and would board his Transport fleet once again.

sep21480200gr1.jpg

The United States Navy could still cause harm to it's foe but only in limited circumstances. Japanese Submarines had long been ineffective as they invariably had to avoid most enemy fleets for fear of being sunk which was amply demonstrated by Admiral King on September 21st. His single Light Carrier, the USS Langley, sank 37. Unterseebootsflottille in less than two hours.

sep21480800gr1.jpg

Japanese air patrols continued across most sealanes and another small American Transport fleet was spotted heading towards the Persian Gulf. Clearly the United States Navy had not learned it's lesson very well.

sep21482300gr1.jpg

In the Aleutians another enemy fleet was detected by Ichimaru but it was not American on this occasion. Ozawa was a little concerned that the Canadian Navy had a more modern Aircraft Carrier than Japan could build, HMCS Warrior, but it was inadequately protected by only one other ship, the badly damaged Heavy Cruiser HMCS Kingston. Neither would be sunk during the brief encounter.

Relief forces had slowly made their way forwards in the Middle East which allowed Hata to order Kawashima to try and advance along the poorly defended Egyptian coast.

sep21481900gr1.jpg

He was counter attacked after arriving in Alexandria but would have no trouble holding his position. Support forces had already arrived in Port Said and other Japanese ground forces were advancing to solidify the new position.

Imperial Palace. Tokyo, Japan.

Minister Mamoru had decided to pay his Emperor a visit to discuss a change of policy in the Soviet Union. Apparently Stalin had decided to play a card he had used before to halt the German advance many years ago.

"What can I do for you today Minister Mamoru?" Hirohito asked.

"A minor development occured in the Soviet Union your Majesty. I thought you should be made aware of it."

sep22480000gr1.jpg

"Our enemy seems to have run out of trained troops and has ordered the general population to take up arms to try and halt our progress."

"Unfortunately for Stalin we control the majority of his population at this time and I think I would prefer them to re-align their patriotism towards Japan. Somehow I do not think this little trick is going to save him a second time."

"I agree your Majesty. As I said it is a fairly minor development."

"How are your plans coming along for our next little adventure?"

"I am about as ready as I can be your Majesty. Do you have some sort of time in mind for a start yet?"

"I am waiting for word from Minister Tanigawa on certain progress and I will know better once he provides me with the information I need. Less than a month for certain."

"Not long then."

"No."

Japanese fleets had moved forwards to assist with the next invasion in the Indian Ocean with the more modern Carrier Group D leading the way. Ozawa's main Carrier strike force encountered an enemy fleet in the South Macarene Plateau during it's voyage.

sep22480100gr1.jpg

IJN Zuikaku's aircraft decimated the American Transport Division which had been heading north east. These small encounters were something Ozawa preferred to avoid as it gave the enemy valuable intelligence on the whereabouts of his fleets but could not always be helped.

sep22480500gr1.jpg

The small American invasion fleet failed to gain entry to the Persian Gulf which was being blockaded by CA Division 3. None of the ships would be sunk but they would be forced to withdraw.

sep22480600gr1.jpg

More American Transport ships were spotted in the Mediterranean Sea at 0600 hours as Itabana's bomber wing conducted a patrol along the coast. It would be Sakai's wing that found the Transports, which were being escorted by two British Destroyer Flotillas, both of which would be sunk.

sep22481700gr1.jpg

The final island invasion in the Indian Ocean began at 1700 hours on September 22nd as Banzai led his Marines towards Reunion Island.

sep25480000gr1.jpg

He landed on the 25th and would be required to march to capture Mauritius before returning to Reunion to protect the airbase and port facilities. Japanese Tactical bombers would begin conducting Naval patrols across the entire region to detect any possible enemy response to the landings and to provide advanced warning to Ozawa of any impending invasions.

Higashikuni had been given little choice but to order some very long marches for his troops as he was required to secure as much raw material reserves as he could in his area of operations.

sep29480700gr1.jpg

General Asaka had been the commander to receive the orders to march into far northern Russia to secure the province of Vorkuta, which contained Oil reserves that were much better off in the Japanese stockpile than the Soviets.

There were no enemy troops left to prevent Hata advancing at will across what remained of the Soviet Union. The sporadic redeployments had stopped and very few new Soviet troops were able to be raised as it's Industry collapsed.

sep29482200gr1.jpg

General Yamashita was now on the outskirts of the new Soviet captial of Leningrad and would arrive on October 3rd unless the enemy managed to find some troops from somewhere. Further south the Baltic States were being occupied quickly to further reduce Soviet industrial capacity as the North China Army's Armour made it's way to the Finnish border to the east.

sep30481300gr1.jpg

The Central Asia Army's advance into Poland had also gone well recently and Hata had forces close to the border of both Breslau and West Germany. Mj. General Arikawa had captured Stettin and was ordered to move towards the East German capital of Stralsund in order to annex the Soviet puppet. This information had been high on Tanigawa's list of things to know and he would be required to inform his Emperor that Operation Influx could begin at 0400 hours on October 8th 1948.

Very nice job, but dont you think you are spreading yourself a bit too far with using 1 division groups all over the front?

And another thing, With Canada you should be seeing a battleship and 2 battle cruisers soon. Perhaps you should transfer a Carrier group to Attu?

So it is Operation Influx, then. A fitting name, considering the influx of West-German soldiers to expect. But don't let that stop you from keeping entertaining us. :D

Well-written, as always!

I was figuring (incorrectly) that you were going to avoid coming into direct contact with West Germany. I hope you know what you are getting yourself into!

-- Beppo

Well, it's not like he couldn't trade land for time LOL. worst case scenario is that he would spend around three months bombing germany trops to small bits, retreat to a defensive line in poland, and after germany troops are decimated then proceed to annex germany.

I had no idea Great Patriotic War would fire under these circumstances, but why not, it does make sense now indeed...

Weird sense you mean, as most of people under Soviet rule are Albanians, Lithuanians, Estonians plus some ugric and siberian tribes.

Well yes, if you take that into account... :p
