But then we need farmers, and the problem with them is that they aren't workers, thus they're enemies of the revolution.

How will we survive once the rest of world embraces socialism then? Shall we eat rocks?

People are cynical, they see good things and pick at the minor (sometimes major) Problems with the ruling party.

(Also this whole "Goldman" stuff reminds me of 1984)

Huh?

poll!

total vote: 62 - very good, the record is 70 so there might be a few more if we're lucky

1st prefs

M-Ls: 21 (still dominant)
Anarchists: 15
Revs: 13 (I'm still amazed how Sorel ran out to a large early lead and then his support collapsed)
Lux: 12
Dems: 1 (Bernstein thanks Keynes for his pitty)

2nds

Lux: 34 (almost exactly 2/3s of those votes are 2nd prefs)
M-Ls: 26 (I'm not sure if this gap can be made up with so much of the vote already turned out)
Revs: 26 (ditto)
Anarchists: 24 (VERY solid performance here, I wouldn't put it past Goldman to overtake the Revs and M-Ls for 2nd place)
Dems: 7

So it seems that Rosa is going to retain the Chairmanship thanks to her being the only person no one else hates. Sure she isn't as loved as Lenin, Sorel or Goldman but Right wingers and pro-Peasants hate Lenin, Pro-Workers and more traditional socialists hate Sorel whilst the long lasting loathing of the Anarchists by much of the Party has never died.

BUT! There is still time, it will just require a hell of a push by non-Luxemburgist factions.

Vote Revolutionary! Vote Sorel! You don't really want a faction that is coming fourth in 1st prefs to win do you? Sorel will solve all our ills! Sorel is the way forward!

Yes. Down with Sorel and his reactionary drivel! Vote Anarchists! Vote Luxemburgists! Vote for a coalition of freedom and progress!

The people shall judge us.

I think it's pretty certain that the Luxemburgists will win, since the prophet (Necazian) has voted for them. :D

Regarding the Farmer-question: is oil already discovered? If yes, then we could refine it into Twinkies and thereby solving our food-problem.

1. Revolutionaries
2. Marxist-Leninists

I know it may be a weird combination of choices, but I'm bored with pacifism. I want another war, and these are the only 2 factions that offer that. Remember the good old days when moderate factions like the United Front would support a good war every now and then? I miss those days...

When do the polls close?

Also are the revolutionarys popular among the people?

Tommorow at 3 PM UK time.

In the country? Very much so. In the cities? Not so much.

Remember that the Revolutionaries are essentially articulating long standing farmer greivances and mixing that together with Socialist thought. As you shall see by their new members on the CC their leadership is pretty varied.

winsington's vote has closed the gap between the Revs and M-Ls and Luxemburgists lsightly but either or both of those factions still need a decent push to overtake Luxemburg.

Look Tommy, this may sound unashamedly biased, but in an attempt to avoid being lead by a faction that came fourth in first prefs, could we have second prefs count for half as much as first prefs? Please?

EDIT:On second thoughts, having realised that would mean Lenin would win, please don't! I'd prefer Luxemburg to lenin any day, even is Sorel would wipe the floor with both of them.

I dont like that idea, people may not put there favorate party in the first pref because they dont think they can win.

Are you really so short sighted to change the entire electoral system based on the results you want for one election?

Introduce slavery. Problem solved. Enslave the farmers! There is no farming class, only the workers count! All else is gravel under the feet of the Party. We shall tread them; the path to a Worker's Paradise. How long did the farmers freely lend power to the kings and bourgeois, while the workers suffered under their heel? The farmers were accomplices, if not willing masters! Now is the time for retribution! Vote for Chairmen Lenin!

Honestly, you and your 'enemies of the revoloution'. The only enemies of the Revoloution are the capitalists, the aristocrats and all their lackeys. The producers shall own the means of production, and the farmers are the producers of food.

It's nice to see somone totally discrediting the Marxist-Leninist position.

I'd have changed it back!

Discrediting? I thought he was explaining!

He was. Its the same thing where the M-L position on farms is concerned.

The peasants may not achieve their rights this election, but the Long March to freedom is under way. The current revolutionary leaders may not be up to reaching the top job, but somewhere a future Revolutionary Chairman is already jotting down his thoughts in a little field-grey notebook.

That's crazy, and definately not a marxist-leninist position.
