This is my second post on this forum, I'd like to share this first attempt to mod a scenario, with the Crusader King community.

Crusader Kings
Version 1.5 (English)
1066 Scenario

I played/tested it in 4 different main roles:
Emperor(BYZA), to protect and try to keep together the Roman Empire (it often break/fall/collapse in this order, Iberia and Noricum first, Africa and Gallia later)
Caesar/Consul, as a member of the roman elite to get elected Imperator (from Senate with intrigue and assasination, from Military with conquest, as Merchant with gold and marriages)
Governor/Prefectus trying to break away and create a national kingdom/duchy
Barbarian to invade the Roman Empire

The idea is to do a AAR but also to just enjoy CK.

There are all 5 religions in the Empire: Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim, Pagan and Jewish.

Why that huge demesne allowed size? (only with BYZA indeed)
the worse is that I can't "Grant a title", revoke works.

PS I used the "light" culture tag Byzantine for the Roman culture, but then can I just add text strings to the character names file for Byzantine(Roman) culture? and what happens to culture-related events ?

I believe you have given yourself titles that in vanilla CK is used for republics. Correct ?

Republics are hardcoded to have no demesne limit and can't grant titles

That is the only thing I can think of

Yes you are right, I used the republican (modified) for many county/duchies/kingdoms the reason is to create this hierarchical order(for roleplaying purpose):

Empire (A)
Empire - Emperor
Diocese* - Consul
Province - Governor
Prefectura - Prefectus

Empire Federats (B)
[Kingdom] - [King] --- for external barbarians only
Duchy - Duke (and other religions equivalent)
County - Count (and other religions equivalent)

Empire eclesiastic holdings (B)
Papal State - Pope (in Rome)
Bishop....etc....

*(created by the Emperor Dioclezianus, the CK Republics)

It is good, now WAD, that (A) can't grant titles and (B) can, the only exception should be the Emperor of course but how? if BYZA go feudal again it will be

Help needed for a new event

To give special "powers" to the BYZA emperor, I converted all orthodox to catholic, and I'm using the orthodox religion for that, now only C496 (Byzantium) province has orthodox religion.

This event should check the religion of the actual emperor ( and of the next) and change it to orthodox, right? But the event doen't popup, I don't receive any error message.

the id number for the event should be high enough, the character with the BYZA tag is pagan

That event won't work. You can only convert someone to the religion of their liege not to the religion of a province.

for myself because I get lost in the many *.txt files :eek:o

  1. List and check events ID (modded)
  2. (List and) check text related to event ID
  3. (in game) test with F12 and charevent # or provevent #
  4. find a text file compare freeware software to list and explain main modification of Leaders of Roman Empire 1066 MOD Scenario
  5. reduce and remove unecessary characters (char ID, marriages, titles, countries), to reduce filesize and the need for a pruner

Single event scripting/mod 1st attempt

I'm trying to use the Iceland as a clock/check for events.

When an event triggers, a new tech is added and will stop the event from repeating.
So I will be able to have a single event for sure.

this mean I will try to unconnect it in the spreadneighbours.csv file and modify the advances_spread.txt file (to be sure that no research is done).

Does anyone know if it may works ????? ( I know that igorvragovic for his Mongol event has done something similar with the "Relic" tech).
