I move that the VSVR moves to a federal system, where each faction can have a majority and rule in that land. Such as Anarchists in Brussels, Marxists-Leninists in Cologne, Militarists in Berlin. That way the people see which version is better, and they can vote with their feet. Faction homelands as it were. Each would send delegates to the constitutional assembly and to the Politburo. The Politburo would have one per homeland, and the Assembly would be based on population. So therefore if the Militarists and the Marxist-Leninists want war, they can use the Cologne and Berlin militias and not the Brussels and so forth. I think this would be fair.

When is politics ever practical?

Actually, practicality trumps idealism quite a bit in politics. People are very willing to oppose or support an issue simply to gain votes.

Sides?
It is not about sides, it is about whether we can allow Lenin to remove our rights, whether we can allow his tyranny to continue!
None of us shall survive unless we stop Lenin.

It's just semantics, would the word "cause" make you happier? Or perhaps "fight for survival?" That has a nice ring of propaganda to it ;)

We have our revolutionary, progressive cause and against this we have Lenin.
Liberty or tyranny.
Freedom or Lenin.

It is a fight for progress. To make tomorrow a better place.
A world without Lenin.

If politics aren't practical, they're useless. The poor masses of the world cannot live on words or ideals alone. They must eat, have shelter and security, and working social institutions through which they can influence their own lives.

On the proposal of a federal system, I'm strongly against. Such a system would lead to even greater division within the republic, and could act as a catalyst for in-fighting and the dreaded prospect of civil war. Furthermore, local polarization would hurt those of dissenting beliefs in the different regions of the republic, and thus hurt the pluralistic nature of our socialist democracy.

Yes, but the more important point is that the Independents are not actually Fascists in ideology, Tommy may make them Fascists in game terms simply because it gives them the ability to support both social and political reforms. However, he is worried (as am I) that some people will use the fact that the Independents are technically Fascists in game terms as a weapon against them and go around bad-mouthing them simply based on a gameplay mechanic. All this despite the fact that their platform won't be remotely Fascist and they aren't Fascists in AAR terms.
Well, he could just photoshop their ingame picture when he does the election report.
Just change the color so they look like proper socialists.
Voilà. :)

To all the bourgeois idealists and tyrannical murders of the Anarchist persuasion

Comrades! Have you listened to the anarachists lately? They seek to destroy the equitable distribution of wealth and the welfare state it has brought us, they seek to end state "interference" to make our factories safe and leave our workers with some leisure, they seek to openly allow capital and wealth influence over politics with their ideas of a so called free press, how I ask you may a press be free when it is chained by size of one's purse rather than the strength of one's arguments? And of course they seek to end the mighty Red Army, the great sentinel of the revolution, that guards us against the capitalist and spreads freedom and justice to the oppressed and downtrodden peoples of europe. Are these anarchists mad, are they naive to the extreme?

With the latest from "Comrade" Kadon, a threat of violence agaisnt any member of the People's Government that do not favour their own position, we have our answer. Kadon puts he and his cronies in the position of Monarch and Aristocracy, whose right to rule is intrinsic, indeniable and unquestionable! They are Counter Revolutionaries! Comrades I ask you, why should the People's Government, elected by the People's Party and the Proletariat themselves, be beholded to anarchists instead of their electorate? Why should these anarchists be deemed more worthy?

That these people dare call themselves the true guardians of the revolution is sickening, they seek only to guard their own pocket and are no better than the traitor Weitling, worse infact for they have done naught for us and are still here sapping the strength of the revolution and manipulating our own against us as we saw in Brussels. I would urge any member of the Anarchists who truly believes himself a guardian of the revolution to abandon their ilk, and any sane worker or party member to vote against the anarchists in the upcoming election, to not do so would only legitimise their aristocratic intent, and preferable vote one again for the Marxist faction as lead by Lenin.

And why not? Has not Lenin and his faction brought about the emancipation of millions more of our brothers and sisters, both within our own Republic, in the empires of Europe AND in the dark land of Africa? Has not Lenin shown to the world the great potential of a liberated proletariat, productively, scientifically and even culturally? Did not Lenin spare the ordinary worker the horror of war? Did not Lenin bloody the largest and most powerful capitalist imperialist power on the face of the Earth? Did not Lenin further the cause of communism than ever before? Now has Lenin performed faultlessly, perfectly, without a single error or missed opportunity? Of course not, for Lenin is a mere man. Would you rather a man or King, comrades?

Just got an article from JF as a response to Kadon.

Thanks :)

Someone had to defend Lenin.

Nice song Communard, catchy and Bolshie all in one :p

I wish I'd remembered it during the UF days, it would have made a fitting anthem :p

Comrade John Forseti: If we can be labeled as counterrevolutionaries because we support a free press, the abolition of the state and an end to war, perhaps you should be wondering what became of your revolution?

Abolish the state, the answer to anything. Imperialists threatening? Abolish the state. Trouble making ends meet? Abolish the state. Political disagreements? Abolish the state.
