New Tool: PEGasUs

It's time since I released first EU2 AI Editor, EU2 History Log Tools and EU2 Map Exchange Tools. I was working on enhancing History Log tool, then stopped cause of time issue. But I believe it's able to serve you, even when it didn't meet my (overestimated) expectations.

Here comes Pegasus - which is abbreviation of Paradox Entertainment Games' Utilities. It's not related to EU2 only, you can use it against HoI too, maybe other Paradox games with little tweak.

Features
- contains tool for filtering/further editing game history logs
- you can filter by country, messages or other words in log
- you can edit it using built in text editor (simple one)
- you can clean savegame files of history logs by simple click
New since build 48:
- Archiver utility (pegasusA.exe), checks for specified files and moves them to archive directory sequentially numbered

I figured out Archiver utility wasn't functioning as intended in its first release. So here is hotfix. Find link to it in first post.

HoI Leader Processor added to family of Pegasus tools. You can easily import and process leaders from HoI or its mods and result will be filterable, sortable and printable nice excel sheet. Like Extensive HoI Leaders List is. Enjoy!

I've realized (only now, me stupid dumb), there is one rather serious bug in installation. When you load, you get error that "data files are corrupted" or something like that. It is caused by wrong placement of data files in \db subdirectory. Here is patch, which shall sort that out:

1. Create patch.bat in folder where you have installed Pegasus
2. Copy and paste code below to that patch.bat and save it

mkdir db\eu2
mkdir db\hoi
mkdir db\vic

move db\*_eu2.csv db\eu2\
move db\*_hoi.csv db\hoi\
move db\*_vic.csv db\vic\

3. Run patch.bat. It should move data files in apropriate (correct) places so Pegasus loads with no problems.

I'll post this bat myself, as soon as I'm able to upload it

I don't know how CK history log looks like, but if it is similar to EU2 one, there shouldn't be problem. Did you try it?

I think the history log is similar to EU2. I tried it and got a blank file as a result, also none of the filters are working. Do I need to set up some directories for CK like the other games.

One more question: did you apply patch after intallation? for pegasus I mean

I used the 3 files in the first post and made a .bat file to avoid the "data files corrupt" error.

I'll describe a standard way how to process history log, let's say of EU2:

1. Run Pegasus (pegasus.exe)
2. Check Options (F4 or Tools -> Options), in Data Files for Game set "Europa Universalis 2" in Game combo box. Ok to confirm changes and close Options
3. Click on Manage History Logs button to start history log manager
4. First, we need to import history log from .eug file. This operation only reads .eug file, it doesn't change it. Press Import button in toolbar or select File -> Import... (Ctrl+I). Select .eug file you want to import history log from and press Open.
5. Now, if there was history log in that .eug file, you should see it's content in History Log tab. You can edit it there. It's not eug file itself, but your history log file (if saved), defaultly.txt file. Press Save in toolbar (Ctrl+S) to save history log.
6. To apply filters, you need to check Filter by ... check boxes in Filter tab and then define filter parameters (select countries, messages, date, chat). Be aware that filter is applied with AND operator between filter groups (countries, date, messages and chat) and OR operator within these groups. Thus selecting "England" and "Portugal" in Countries filter and "About rebels" in Messages filter will result in all logs about revolts in England and Portugal.

When you want to remove hisotry log from .eug file (to make it smaller for instance), select Remove History Log eug file in File menu.

1. Installation (setup)
2. patching (patch.bat)
3. above described actions

let me know. Just tell me what exactly you were doing (step-by-step, action-by-action). Then we might sort the problem

I've just imported a Victoria save. No history is displayed when I am in Victoria mode, yet in EU2 mode it works fine.
