I gave the Republic of China a shot. Is there any other path prepared by the AAR modders than to accept the 13301110 event? Cuz when I do, every single division of mine turns warlord. Then the peace treaty event happens and the warlord take some of my land. There's no CHC though, and I get back 27 of my divisions... in landlocked Yuling, surrounded by Xibei and Shanxi. Dafuq? Then Guangxi DOWs me and I have only those 27 starving divisions. WAD?

Err....CCIP doesn't have 13301110.

Fairly certain the current nightly works better.

If you wait a bit Limiths CCIP mod will be fully integrated, although a bit in beta form, to AAR which will greatly improve many Asian countries especially china. Otherwise there is not much in current the form of events for china.
It's technically in alpha stage, not beta. But most of the problems reported above should be fixed.

China. War goes on for a while, and then Nat China gets a "Order has been restored" event, and everything starts again. DOW, war, peace event, DOW...
Another thing - IC construction takes 4 years now?
Also: German HoS is still Wilhelm II, will Hitler come to power despite that?

I hope not. But he probably only comes along in the Weimar republic, and by choice event.
 
In other words: will my Russia-that-somehow-managed-to-win-WWI have any worthy oponent in the AAR event paths?

Both is intended. It's meant to simulate the ongoing war, and prevents the warlords from being overrun. In the next version, CCIP will be integrated into mainline AAR, so you can expect a great chinese civil war.

IC in HOI2 is war economy and heavy industry, when there is no major war and everybody is looking forward to a peaceful living armaments industry grows MUCH slower than during wartime. If this was not the case you(and the AI) would be able to construct insane amounts of IC in 20 years.

Also: German HoS is still Wilhelm II
that's a known bug, in time ministers will be fixed. However, unless someone decides to do election/political events for germany, this will not be in the next version of AAR.

Indeed, Hitler only emerges, if Germany has lost the war. Though, if you move your sliders to national socialist and somehow manage to become nazi-germany (tag = GER), you still can get him into power.

I'm also enjoying this thread (I read all fifty pages because I'm a masochist). I learnt quite a bit about the difficulty inherent in such an open-source adventure, and I want to help. I'm still a neophyte in modding (actually... a neophyte is more practiced than I), so assisting with the coding is next to impossible.

Still! I noticed while I was playing that, though you have in-game descriptions of the events (e.g. Hitler being arrested), they're at best dry explanations and at worst disjointed summaries. This is not a criticism, as I understand you have FAR more important things to worry about (least of which is fixing the of bugs of which thirty people have helpfully informed you − that President Wilson is still President of the United States in the thirties or that Wilhelm II is still chancellor of Weimar).

As I said, I'd like to help, and I'm a several times over published author. If you think it'd be helpful, I would happily re-write the new events, giving their current historical dryness a narrative edge.

And also, when I took this option playing the game, the national disension increases to 99%, but I don't see in the file the command that orders the dissent value going up to this level :S

I would happily do the same for Limith. I love East Asian history, it wouldn't be work for me...might find out a few new things in the process.

Just wondering though if there's going to be a choice between Chiang Kai Seck and Wang Jing Wei (I'm actually a fan of Wang, I don't see him as a traitor but as a man who made the best out of a very crap situation).


PS. Any new on the fate of Austria Hungary?
 
Event desc writing doesn't take that long (especially since I don't bother moving them into mods.csv for CCIP), I have to do the research anyway when making the event. Feel free to revise my descriptions, but I'd rather get help actually writing events themselves.

In the long term, I want to take a hiatus from AAR/CCIP sometime so I can actually sit back and enjoy a game/mod that is someone else's work instead of constantly coding (I haven't played a true DH game in....a very long while). Not yet though, probably around the completion of 1914-1936 events.

To be honest, I never really wanted to take on the mantle of CCIP in the first place (CG Mod was my first DH mod), it's just I got tired of not seeing CCIP being ported from ARMA and the ARMA dev seems to have moved on. ARMA and CCIP is more popular than CG, so its better for the modding community if I continued development on it. It's one of the reasons why I decided to ask Burning to merge CCIP into AAR so that if I do move onto other modding projects, there will at least be devs with access to the nightly code and can continue work on it.

You will have a choice between WJW and JJS in interwar. In WWII, the way I did it in discontinued CCIP was that WJW would takeover in Reformed Nationalist Government, Communists would assimilate loyalist KMT troops and territory, while JJS was assassinated (if Japan won). WJW is unplayable until then (just an event saying WJW defects). Main reason why I don't release RNG/Nanjing-China per historic is since the ai can't handle the puppet being in the line of supply (it creates all sorts of problems, Nanjing-China has claims, not cores, and it has +dissent events in CCIP, so it generally cannot supply Japanese troops, also something historic since the IJA had to supply collaborationist divisions) and that it is much better for the Japanese war ai to control the territory itself (when Japan still has not defeated the Nationalists). That, and historically it did govern the territory. It's more of a game engine limitation workaround than anything else.

For the time being, my free time is literally bleeding because of work. I suggest that you release the version and maybe release my event descriptions later as an hotfix. I finished the Austrian ones, so I can give you them, but I'm only half done for Hungary and I still have to do all Yugoslavia.

No. Everything past 1918 is filled with placeholder events to guide history and connect 1914-1936 per AAR manifesto. There are many many events left to finish writing between 1916-1920 as it is. (Hence why help with writing events > help with event descriptions)

Yeah, I was wondering why I couldn't release the reformed government in the original DH, I guess I know now! And I think the non-cores and communists taking over left over territory and troops is a great idea...definitely an accurate portrayal of that situation, seeing as some KMT defected during the civil war.

I'm so glad we can choose between the WJW and JJS...I'm assuming WJW will still be left leaning during this time, so a possible escape from civil war?
