There was much more hard evidence for Dujic extradition (including order signed by his alleged arch enemy Ante Pavelic of safe passage of Dinara division through NDH to Italian border) then for Andrija Artukovic, only Dujic was smart enough not to mess with Jews (not many lived in Knin area anyway) and limit himself to Croats and communist of all nations - last one was very popular in post war US.

There were several more both ustasha and chetnik leaders who managed to get to US, some even joined US armed forces and fought in Korea.

Gee hopefully you won't be sacked because of this... Luckily I have my own company or I would have been sacked... I agree that Dujic was a nobody..but sometimes nobodies are very dangerous and lethal.(in fact mostly the case..look at some of the worst criminals in 3r.d Reich...nobodies... (I'm referring to camp commanders)

If you get the spare time for it then I sure hope you will join this happy little bunch with special interrest in Croatia/Yugoslavia of course....and pics is the point here.

Thanks for the info about the politicians. You see I cleaned the Leaque of Nations for over 500 pics of politicians,so far all of them (argentina, bolivia has come in use) so what I can tell you about the two you couldn't find is that they were both delegation members which signals some sort of influence.Unfortunately it doesn't say when they were delegation members...and the spellings lacks a great deal....I've had some smiles over that, for instance Giorgios(Greek) is constantly called Georges.. etc.So I kind of guess it is okay to use them as replacements.

One of the (later a famous bolivian philosopher had a past as a flyboy pioneer (imagine that....just wondering if Kierkegaard would have been the same had he lived-..... One died in 1938 but is in.no 4 was the least exciting, average politician it seems, and the the real goody for later use.(he is in now) du Reis.Imagine that this very active man participated in his last coup'd'attempt in 1980 at the grand old age of 92!!!!!!!!!.... He lived to be 101 btw.I've bookmarked him for further use when we are going to add the election events....

(I did actually take your list very seriously...
Would prefer both Ruge and Fleischer availabele from 38. The labour party seriously considered both for the post as minister of defence in 1939 when they wanted a professional man for the job after the outbreak of ww2. For some strange reason the chose Ljungberg instead. All three (at least Ljungberg & Fleischer was more liberal conservative than reformed socialists)

Agree that Terboven held the HOS position in real life, but if Norway should turn fascist without german help, they would certainly not ask a german gauleiter to replace the king. Would have used Quisling as both HOS and HOG

I think we actually have had Reichenau as Coa,,but he isn't now,,as for Hammerstein..well it was your own suggestion that he should be more to the right than PA and not NS so the only one left was FA... Actually his leaning towards NS/FA was probably the main reason he was never appointed to CoA.
Thought my idea was to make Hammerstein a COA if Germany should turn democratic. He was chief of the general staff before the nazi takeover and extremely hostile to the NSDAP. He was also involved in several anti-hitler plots. But it's your decision...

and now to a complete different subject which of the following Norwegians can we use as ministers minister replac. (and which are dead before the period) (some of them might be in already I haven't had the time to check that yet.

Alf Eriksen. Never heard of him. Could be Alfred Eriksen who was a MP before WW1. Dead in 1934

Carl Joachim Hambro: THE greatest norwegian politican of the period. He's already in. Could be used for all positions in a conservative government.

Erik Andreas Colban: Ambassador in London from 1936-45 (probably with some pauses in between). That makes him the most important norwegian diplomat. Could be used as a foreign minister replacement. Great Compromiser.....

Frederik Hagerup (he is in isn't he?): Don't think so. The Hagerup family has supplied norway with several civil servants, but can't find any reference to Frederik Hagerup...

    Frederic Beichman: Unknown

Fridtjof Nansen: Unfortunately died in 1930.

Gunnar Jahn: Leading liberal politician. An economist and head of the central bank. Minister of Finance and resistance leader during the occupation. There is a good picture of him here.

    http://www.nobel.se/peace/articles/c...bios/jahn.html

Should definitely be in (and I thought he already was)

    H.R.Mengert: Unknown

Johan Ludwig Mohwinckel: That is MOWINCKEL. Prime minister AND foreign minister in 24-26, 28-31 and 33-35. Chairman of the liberal party and a member of the coalition government after the german invasion. He should be in already as a possible LC prime minister...

Kristine Elisabeth Bonnevie: Norways first female professor and a member of the league of nation delegation in 20-24. Died in 1948 but not political active...

    Michael Hansson: Unknown

Nini Roll Anker: Female novellist. Didn't know she had a diplomatic career. But not politically active..

Otto Albert Blehr: Former prime minister who died in 1927

Paul Benjamin Vogt: Probably Benjamin Vogt. Conservative politician who was ambassador to london between 1910 and 1934!!! and then a international judge in Hague 1933-45. Died in 1947. Not impossible he would have received a post in a conservative government in the thirties, but he was an old man then born in 1863...

Rolf Andvord: Norwegian ambassador in Moscow during the war, and a good friend of the componist Prokofjev. Could probably be a late war labour foreign minister replacement (but there is no chance in hell someone would have replaced the mighty tryggve lie by then...)

Valentine Dannevig (that surname made me smile... Yep, a lot of those offspring ended up in norway. We've got some Gyldenløves as well. But this one was a norwegian feminist activist which I think we can drop...

And that concludes the vote of the norwegian jury

BTW: You should probably include Jens Christian Hauge as Chief-of-staff from 1945. Hauge was the leader of the resistance and then minister of defence from 1945-52 and then minister of justice. A very powerful figure behind the scenes in the 60's and 70's. Perhaps he still is because he is very much alive and kicking. Should be school of psychology. There is a pic here:

    http://www.norgeslexi.com/krigslex/h...jens-small.jpg

And you could inlude this man as a head of security from 1945:

    Haakon Lie

    http://www.leksikon.org/art.php?n=1578

As secreatary general of the labour party from 1945-69, he did more than anyone to destroy the communist party (and more or less everyone else opposed to himself or the labour party). Extremely controversial (it wasn't popular when he was appointed an honorary member of the labour party after more than 80 years membership half a year ago) and he should be the perfect norwegian prince of terror. Think he is 98 years old now and still quite vigorous.. (The old policeman Bryhn is probably better off as a crime fighter)

    Intel and security

Probably best to repost the norwegian intelligence and security leaders:

    Military Intelligence:

1936-37: Alfred Roscher Lund (logistic specialist)
1937-40: Harald Wrede Holm (technical specialist)
    1940: Sverre Midtskau (naval intelligence)
    1941: Alfred Roscher Lund
    1941-42: Finn Nagell (dismal enigma)
    1942-46: Alfred Roscher Lund
1944-66: Vilhelm Evang (he overlapped Roscher-Lund for some time - should be political specialist)

    Minister of Security

1937-40: Tryggve Lie (minister of justice - man of the people)
    1940-43: Finn Nagell (Silent Lawyer)
1943-66: Asbjørn Bryhn (Prince of Terror)

Suggest you make everyone availabe as replacements 2 years before they actually took over the position...

Final suggestion to Birch (well at least for tonight):

Do you remember the group photo with the head of the pre war norwegian naval air force in a navy uniform? Why don't make him a replacement Head of Airforce with a naval aviation doctrine. Don't think he is in neither the leader nor the minister file, and it's a shame to waste a pic

Thanks....yes that is true, must have been real tired since it got to me...

Frodon:Okay we will make them available from 38 and add the others. And yes I have that naval pic...with a large txt attached to it.I intend to use it to the full.Guess I will make Norway today leave South America for a day ......wish I had Diesen...

and the other info is as always very useful...I did know that a lot of them was dead(like Nansen..just teasing you there... Dannevig btw.(or her ancestors must be offsprings from Frederik 6. btw...so alas none of the Norwegian women goes in...(well there weren't many female ministers at that time. Not that surprising since Nina Bang became the worlds first female minister in 1926 (Stauning's first government)as for the rest well the spelling on that LoN site lacks a good deal as said earlier. The main point is however to ensure that none who were dead goes in.... and this brings me to Brazil (Quite a jump)... Of the 9 politicians I got hold of one went out the window(died 1925) the rest is in now. They aren't that interresting as the Bolivians but there were two ex.presidents.da Silva Pessoa 1919-1922 left office somewhat abruptly, and kept on until 1952 as a special envoy and the living morale of Brazil. Was a very young president btw,Nascimento Paes was actually a foreign ministers in that period.Rodrigo Octavio was an very political active ex-general,could not find the reason he had left the army.Luis Pereira was president until 1930 where he was ousted because of corruption. However he continued as a very active politician, ran for president twice, and held several offices(and always got sacked...the remaining 4 was just politicians of higher and lower stature but are all in now. One of them interresting though,He became a left wing socialist and was assinated in 48...and once again I have to say that all the Latin American countries really takes good care of their past.So Brazil updated with 8 more politicians

Yeah I can't help but agree. I don't think the files were that good to start with but at least the HoI files were an attempt to get somewhat realistic ministers in realistic cabinets for the whole world. The work the everyone has made on files since the release have been amazing and the end result will be a collection of polticians that I doubt can be found anywhere.

Birch23 I have your files, but I haven't had time to check them. There is one guy who might be useful
I have visited couple of research libraries now and I have most of the missing politicians. Funnily enough there are no picture explainations (of who is who in cabinet pictures) even in official year books. The librarians didn't believe it until I asked them to look for it specifically. The Imperial army pictures are still nowhere to be seen. I will work on them once I have visited two more libraries. I should be able to send you good pictures of many pre-war ministers this weekend.

    A rare 1927 photo

The reason I put this photo here is because of the man sitting in front on the far right. This man is V. M. Orlov - Chief of Soviet Navy in 1936 (looks like full admiral on the photo?). If my memory serves me well, he is not in the ministers file, right?

    The rest are:
    sitting left to right:

Bazilevich Georgi D. (1889-1939) - finished Kiev military school in 1910; lt-colonel in WW1; joined the Red Army in 1918; 1925-1931 Commander of the Moscow and Volga military districts; 1931-1938 - Secretary of the Soviet Defense Comittee; 1935 - rank of Corps Commander (Komkor). Arrested in 11.38 Killed in 03.39.

Levandovskii, M.K. (1890-1938) - 1918-1921 Commander of the Red Army forces in Caucass; 1924-25 Commander Turkestan military district; 1934-1937 - member of the Military Council of the Soviet Defense Ministry (Narkom Oboronyi); 1938 - Commander of the Coastal army group in the Kiev
special military district; arrested 02.38; killed 07.38

    Tukhachevskii - ID 10248

    Voroshilov - ID 10270

Petin, Nikolai N. (1876-1937) - participant in Russo-japan war of 1904-1905 and WW1. In the Red army since 1918. 1930 - Commander of Engineers forces of the Red Army. Arrested and killed in 1937.

Kork, Avgust I. (1887-1937) - finshed Chuguevsk infantry school in 1908 and Nikolaev military academia in 1914. Lt.-col in WW1. In Red army since 1918. Commander of various armies and fronts during the Civil war. Later commander of various military districts, including Moscow military district in 1929-1935. Exceptional commander (I would rank him 4 in HOI terms) and military theory writer. 1935-1937 Commander Frunze military academy. 1935 - rank of Army Commander 2nd class (Komandarm 2-ogo ranga). 05.37 - arrested. 06.37 Killed along with Tukhachevski.

    Orlov, V.M. - sea above

    Standing left to right:

    Pavlov, A.V. - ???

    Viktorov - Id 10324

    Shaposhnikov - ID 10200

    Vekman, A.K. - ????

    Uborevich - ID 10251

Avksentevskii, Konstantin A. (1890 - 02.11.1941) - in the army since 1915; Lieutenant in the Russian army; in the Red army since 1918; Commander of various armies, fronts and districts, retired in 1931 due to bad health.

It is still very much in fore,Actually I have tried to apply it to the latest Costa Rica file. But it seems that the file the starts out with LC instead of PA as it should, before changing to democracy by the elections.(I will try and play a little more with that) I thought it was the president who lead to the poltical flavour...but apparently it is the HOG.
    This is how it works:

1)The Head of State determines the ideologies who are "tolerated". This is why Head of States have more than one ideology. Only ministers with a "tolerated" ideology are selectable for replacements.

For example, Azaña is ST, LE, LWR, RS, CE, wich means that ministers with those ideologies can be in the goverment. If the shadow commies come into power, José Díaz Ramos is the new HOS, and sice he is only ST, LE, the LWR, RS and CE ministers are dispelled from the pool.

    2) The Head of Goverment determines the ideology of the state. This is why they have only one ideology. If he is ST, LE or LWR the state is communist. If he is RS, CE or LC the state is democratic. If he is PA, FA, NZ, the state is fascist...

I think that the ideology of the HOS is of no consecuence for the ideology of the State. Taken to the extreme, you could have a ST, LE as HOS and a FA as HOG... and the government shall be fascist, but you could only have ST, LE ministers as replacements...

Ok, if this is a race to see who can send more photos... I said you I can't take books from the Library until July 7th... but then I'll stop researching and I'll send all the photos I can take, no matter their uselfuness or historical significance, if this is what you want...

If it is about making something that is historical consecuent, then if you have 2 people working with the spanish files you should put us bot in contact so can share our work.

I expect you will be pleased with the photos I send. I'm specially proud of the photos of Batet and the younger Galán. I find also rather cool the photos of El Campesino and Millán Astray that were in my enciclopedia.

I've send you also the famous photo of Llano so you can be 100% sure it is the same man.

If there is someone you don't know who is, don't worry, I'll tell you later.

Indeed! Finally a pic of Vladimir Mitrofanovich. He has been hiding from us for a long time.. And he's in the last patch, but as a replacement. Birch fixed that though.

By the way Dibo, do you think you can dig up anything on the VVS commander in '36. It seems he's name was general Alkinis, but I can find very little info about him and no pic. I think the starting Chief of Air (Golovanov) is the last minister that's incorrect.

    Cheers!

The only thing I know about him is that he is supposed to be arrested and shot in 1937 together with Tukhachevsky.
