Hello and welcome to my first attempt at a forum game in quite awhile. Since there seems to be a focus on political simulations at the moment i've decided to GM a war-game.

Our setting can be described as a action thriller. The game begins in twenty thirty nine and the Global Depression and Quantum Revolution have merged into tsunami crashing over the world. Players take on the role of the leadership in the private military company, Fortune Unlimited or "Fortuna" casually. Your characters are both leaders in combat as well as shareholders in the company. To this end you must all decide on what contracts to take on and agree on a plan of action.

How To Start Playing

First; create a character conforming to the character creation rules
Second; choose an available company of soldiers
Third; contribute to the game and storyline in a productive manner

Note: As you can see stats will be limited to units. As members of a PMC in the age of the singularity its a given that you will be augmented with quantum age technology but will not be represented in the stats unless for a special reason.

Numerical Bonus=if you have more soldiers on the field during contact you will gain a 20% bonus unless you have more than double the numbers, it then turns into a total rout or the enemy unit dies
Morale=5 is the best, 1 is the worse, once you go below 3 your troops will start to lose psychological health and make bad decisions
Movement Points=A platoon can move 2 MP a turn. Companies as a whole can only move 1 MP a turn. Sometimes depends on logistical situation and geography, 1 MP allows for the movement of a unit to an adjacent deployment zone.
Hacking=an engineer company can dramatically reduce an enemy's battle advantage in a zone for awhile, success depends on the enemy and the enemy can reverse the break as well

Elevated to the rank of commander of Fourth Company, call sign Spartans, 01.04.34. His early service record is largely redacted by NATO Command, though residual hacking shows Cutter served in Afghanistan and Iraq on tours in 2004-2009. Cutter earned a purple heart in Operation Iraqi Freedom and anomalies within his file suggest clandestine operations in Afghanistan which may have resulted in the deaths of several Taliban leadership.

Cutter enlisted in officer training school following 2009, being accepted at the United States Naval Academy. Cutter participated in campaigns in Ukraine, Syria and Alaska, earning a presidential citation and numerous commendations. Cutter commanded NATO forces during the Maryland riots. Though his command led to the dispersal of rioters and the arrest and deaths of many high profile terrorist leaders, he failed to stop rioters from penetrating Hillmere Shores, where he and his wife resided. In the aftermath of the riot, it was discovered his wife had been killed. The following year, 2029, Cutter resigned.

After limited success with various paramilitary organizations, John S. Cutter signed a contract with Fortuna, and in 2034 was instated as Commander of Fourth Company, The Spartans.

Manfred saw action in Afghanistan, and his actions as an Unteroffizer earned him the nickname 'Kaiser'. When he was 25, Manfred became disillusioned with the war, and resigned from service. After serving a career within the military, Manfred did what many military men do, he applied for a position within Fortuna. At the time of his application, the Commanding Officer of First Company died, and Manfred 'Kaiser' Becker was commissioned Commander Manfred Becker of the First Company. A few years after taking over, Manfred dubbed the First Company 'Der Kreig Teufel' in German, which translates to 'The War Devils' in English.

This man was born early in the 20th century in Batavia,Java in what was back then the Dutch East Indies.He fought in many a war across the globe untill he was called back by the KNIL to help fight the Japanese.After the KNIL lost the war he was captured and put to work on the Birma railroad, when he made his escape in late 1944, he was a skeleton of his former self, and fled to the USA.After WWII he fought in the Indonesian rebellion and lost his family, slaughtered by the insurgents.He took part in a few other conflicts, and retired in 1985 in his ancestral homeland, the Netherlands.What would have been his end proved different, as in 2030, when he was 110 years old, he was chosen for the deaging programm.So although he is 117 years old, He has the body of a 27 year old man due to this programm.After getting his de-aging treatment,he went off to the republic of Alaska, dissatisfied with how politics in the Netherlands were going.He joined up with Fortune Unlimited and in these 7 years, he has gone from engineering private to the commander of the 5th Company.Although he acts like a man from the 40s, he is up to date with modern technology.

A long-time member of Fortuna, supposedly tracing his employment there to the very first years of the company. Joseph Bigglestone is commander of the Second Company of Fortune Unlimited, known as ‘The Justicars’ to their peers.

Prior to his involvement in Fortune Unlimited he is known to have served in the Special Activities Division of the Central Intelligence Agency as an undercover operative who specialized in independent operations conducted throughout the Middle-East. Following an unknown event, which has seemingly been purged from all databases investigated, Joseph Bigglestone went AWOL and disappeared into South America, with rumours abounding about his involvement with numerous Drug Cartels and Insurgents.

Bigglestone resurfaced years later in Anchorage, Alaska, offering his services to the company Fortune Unlimited. During his tenure in Fortune Unlimited Bigglestone has earned a reputation for reliability and honesty, traits that he drills into all who serve in his company.

South American Market

Argentina fractured into warring factions since 2025, Brazil dominates this region but is all but in name ruled by corporate and right wing factions, internal conflict rife, Bolivia and Uruguay remains stable but impoverished

African Market

Technocratic despots rule the mineral rich regions providing precious metals for cell phones, computers, and quantum age technology. Some progress in quality of life in the DR Congo and other areas like Nigeria and South Africa. Egyptian Civil War has left that country a shattered shell of its former self.

European Market

The collapse of the Euro Zone started the Global Economic Crisis in 2019. The UK, France, and Germany are governed by far right parties. Spain, Greece, Ireland, and Italy have been ruled by far left parties in quasi communist states. The European Union fell in 2027. Russia has become a rogue state ruled by Vladimir Putin who has utilized life extension technologies to reduce his biological age to twenty three. AEDU (Asiatic Economic Defense Union) dominates much of the former Soviet Union. AEDU is self-sufficient after pursuing their Ten Year Plans. Technological and cultural progress is stagnant.

Western Asian Market

Highly volatile but limited interest in intervention after the emergence of fusion energy batteries. The region is dominated by Islamic extremist organizations warring over the ruins of Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Turkey. Saudi Arabia successfully navigated its way into the Quantum Age by diversifying its economic decades ago. Iran is a Pakistan waiting to happen as its people are nearing the overthrow of the Islamic government. Pakistan is a nuclear wasteland after the Taliban captured nuclear weapons during the Pakistan Crisis of 2020.

Eastern Asian Market

China has used its massive population to produce the technological goods for the world. However the coming of intelligent automated machines to perform most jobs has led to a collapse of the economy. Chinese corporations like in America keeps a vast class of proles suppressed with limited work and draconian laws. So called "uplifts" are appearing in great renumber and are typically from wealthy families and groups.

Southern Asian Market

India exists as two countries. One country joined the middle class during the previous fifty years and enjoy a high quality of life in technological first world level cities. But many of its people remain poor and left behind waging religious war that have been going on for centuries. Indian corporations have grown more benign but still control the economy and people. Abroad however Indian corporations are in fierce competition.

Oceanic Market(s)

Mostly impoverished. Australia exists as a highly conservative, anti-immigration nation with an economy based on technology.

Biography: Served a short stint in the JSDF before quitting and becoming a private contractor. Constantly lazy, he manages to be incredibly useful and lazy at the same time by being very good at setting up automated defenses, after which he can just kick back and let the rest of the company do the work for him.

Biography: The only reason 6th company gets anything done. One of the physically strongest members of the company and not afraid to use that strength to knock the other three heads of the company, Adrian, Luke and Youji, into doing their jobs instead of exploding things, setting things on fire well exploding things, or sleeping respectively.

Commanders note: How again did I end up with half my company being Japanese and the other Scottish. This gives me an idea, Samurai vs Highlander, I need to make this happen.

Hello *encrypted*, as you can probably already tell there's a situation developing in the living quarters moving toward the downtown area of Anchorage. Of course I cannot tell you the details except that it does not look to be an invasion. Our data feeds picked up no communications between mobile devices or neural systems that reveal the origin of this "uprising". This leads us to believe that it is either a corporate attack and doubtfully a nation-state originated strike. A crime syndicate wouldn't have the resources to put something like this together.

The leadership of this "uprising" is demanding the release of a hacker known as Rainbow Serpent but this particular hacker has been dead since 2032. 2. The only advantage the enemy seems to possess are numbers. Drones have counted five thousand marching from the south and southeast.
3. Organization seems broken and confused. Gang affiliation detected for 62% of the enemy.
4. We have reason to believe that this may be a distraction from the true purpose of this attack.
5. Currently no artillery or air support.

Deployment Briefing

1. Fortuna's designated deployment zones is a downtown/commercial area. Many software companies make their homes here. Streets are of course narrow and surrounded by tall buildings and skyscrapers.
2. The engineers to order a set up of obstacles and defenses so that our troops can take their positions as quickly as possible.
3. Mechanized companies will be deployed to the rear zones for now.

Deemed a terrorist by South African officials, Ignatius Johnson is technically a wanted man in South Africa for the role he played in the Apartheid Reemergence in 2021. Johnson led rebel fighters and stormed Pretoria, overseeing rebel occupation for six months before government forces were able to retake the city. Living in exile, Johnson served in several private military organizations in Western Asia before signing a contract with Fortuna three years ago. Several hours after accepting Fortuna's contract, his arrest warrants in South Africa were hacked and deleted.

Formerly a member of Slovakian Special Ops, Natia Khlebiov defected in 2029 when Slovakia joined the AEDU, selling closely guarded secrets to the highest bidder. Moving to the United States to escape AEDU agents, Khlebiov lived comfortably for several years before reemerging on the military scene. An adrenaline junkie, she opted to join Fortuna to sate her need for excitement in. Though reckless at times, Khlebiov is courageous and has a keen eye for battle tactics which propelled her in the ranks of Fortuna.

Little is known of Neo. His identity is a closely guarded secret known only to Jack Fortune and John Cutter. What little is known, is that the hacker known as Neo emerged during the 2035 G13 Summit in Toronto, Canada where CCTV and RCMP security systems were hacked and shut down in a unprecedented breach of security. Protesters infiltrated the summit and splashed many delegates and nation leaders in red paint as a form of protest.

Another cyber attack attributed to Neo was the breach of NSA servers in 2037. Numerous highly controversial and sensitive documents were leaked to the public in what became known as NeoGate. Neo surfaced again in 2038 when the debt of nearly 300 000 Canadian's was wiped clean in the Bank of Canada servers, sparking mass confusion in the a financial community in Bay Street, Toronto Canada.

Neo has alluded many attempts at arrest by Canadian and American authorities. His contract with Fortuna, signed last year, is highly confidential and a closely guarded secret known only to Commander Cutter and Jack Fortuna.

The newest recruit within Spartan Company. Fortuna scouts observed impressive performance while enrolled in the US Army training program and was approached regarding a possible contract with Fortuna. Stone agreed to the terms and was transferred to Fortuna where he graduated at the top of his class. From there Stone was sent to Spartan Company.

Nationality: Irish
DoB: 2005

Oslo is Cutter's eyes and ears on the front lines. He commands with authority and respect and suffers no insolence from his subordinates. Oslo oversees his grunts with the efficiency one would expect in a special ops military unit.

They killed them all and went on their way in the direction of downtown. I saw them take over the police weapons but whatever they're going or seems to be downtown. Right now as you can see everything is quiet except for the aircrafts"

After a stint with the Italian Special Forces, Alfonzo Vespucci was honorably discharged from the Italian Armed Forces, after receiving many accolades for his efforts in what is now known as 'The Venice Cris'. Alfonzo attempted to go to collage, but flunked out due to his inability to pay attention in class. With no other option, Alfonzo joined Fortuna, and was placed under Kaiser Becker's command.

Lieutenant Alejandro Rameriez

Alejandro was a drug dealer for 10 years, before he was betrayed by his cartel, and almost killed in cold blood. After this 'awakening', Alejandro joined the Mexican Police Force upon his release from jail, and busted his old cartel. Alejandro left Mexico after things started to turn south, and joined Fortune United, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant.

The Republic Of Alaska broke free of the United States during in the days leading up to the Constitutional Convention of 2025. Population growth has spiked with its open door immigration policy. Governed by transhumanist managerial types and is mostly responsible for the defense of the Republic and the control of international commerce and agreements. Currently disputing the independence referendum in Yukon where a campaign of drone strikes by Canada has stirred a revolution.

Alaska is one of the few nation-states to reject corporate domination. Their hackers and defense systems are the best in the world and millions of immigrants arrive there every year. Anchorage is now a city of five million mostly prole people from across the planet, Alaska provides a monthly living stipend to all its citizens. Citizenship is notoriously easy to achieve if one joins the Alaskan military or becoming sponsored by a congressman.

Alaskan divisions are deployed along the Yukon/Alaskan border numbering approximately 25,000 early quantum infantry and 300,000 automated combat drones. Canada has the bulk of its military poised on the Yukon/Canadian border. Corporate stock in the Canadian military is rising on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Wall Street. Currently Altron Double Plex, Klugg Enterprises, and Google-IBM have at least 25% invested in Canadian connected military conflicts. What once was a dead market for those in the conflict business is now experiencing a boom.

NATO has issued a statement supporting Canada in regard to the Yukon crisis while AEDU is now moving forces to the Arctic Circle as a "precautionary measure".

Our experts estimate a 79% chance of a global conflict occurring if a compromise cannot be made in the coming summit in Toronto.

Diplomats from AEDU, NATO, and Alaska began today midst the largest riots seen in five years. Anti-corporate demonstrations were dispersed by tear gas and heat wave as Toronto police attempted to secure the perimeter surrounding the a hotel in the city where the talks were held.

Rioter #1: "End the occupation of Free Yukon! In the memory of the Cascadia Homesteaders!"

A crowd of 134,000 demonstrators assaulted the police lines in what became a pitched melee. Demonstrators fell back into the courtyard where gun fire broke out beginning a five hour standoff with riot police until the Canadian army provided reinforcements allowing for a calm landing for representatives.

Robert Price; President of the Movement For Socialist Canada (MSC) condemned the state's actions and called for the resignation of Prime Minister Ledson of far right, Canada First.

The Charon

A state of the art jet and the flagship of Spartan Company. The Charon is among the fastest jets in the world and is the medium for Fortuna to put boots on the ground when imminent action is needed. Clocked at over 5000 mph, the Charon is capable of reaching hotzones and delivering troops for rapid deployment. The Charon is used by Spartan Company and is a mobile base of operations utilized by Commander Cutter. The ship has a next gen suite of digital warfare units and AI logistical support. Retractable 360 Degree gun turrets are mounted along the top and bottom of the plane's fuselage as well as missile compartments for emergency defense procedures, although the ship is not designed for combat, it does have defensive capabilities for forced deployment and extraction.

With a capacity of one hundred and fifty troops, the Charon is the frontline mode of deployment for Fortune Unlimited to win contracts all over the world, and the means in which Spartan Company ensures their "first to fight, last to leave" policy.

Gentlemen,

I propose we lay out a coordinated strategy regarding the Alaskan contract.

As you can see above, the border zones A1, B1, C1, and C2 will be most susceptible to mob attack. I suggest Sixth Company prioritizes these zones for defense operations.

If it pleases Mr. Fortune, I submit that Spartan Company deploys first in Zone B2 for maximum mobility in interest of providing cover to Sixth Company as they operate.

Furthermore, I would like to have the Rules of Engagement made clear. With the encroachment of AEDU and NATO forces along the borders, it is reasonable to think state-sponsored terrorism is imminent. It is my firm belief, however, that the majority of the rioters are not privy to any clandestine operations and do not have malicious intent. I would like coordination between Anchorage Police and Fortuna to ensure that APD is on the frontline to administer non-lethal means of dispersal, and our company in place for lethal force, only when non-lethal force has failed.

Finally, I need clarification on the blue highlighted regions of the map provided by AIN.

A long-time member of Fortuna, supposedly tracing his employment there to the very first years of the company. Joseph Bigglestone is commander of the Second Company of Fortune Unlimited, known as ‘The Justicars’ to their peers.

Prior to his involvement in Fortune Unlimited he is known to have served in the Special Activities Division of the Central Intelligence Agency as an undercover operative who specialized in independent operations conducted throughout the Middle-East. Following an unknown event, which has seemingly been purged from all databases investigated, Joseph Bigglestone went AWOL and disappeared into South America, with rumours abounding about his involvement with numerous Drug Cartels and Insurgents.

Bigglestone resurfaced years later in Anchorage, Alaska, offering his services to the company Fortune Unlimited. During his tenure in Fortune Unlimited Bigglestone has earned a reputation for reliability and honesty, traits that he drills into all who serve in his company.

Intelligence Expert of Fortune Unlimited Second Company, 'The Justicars'

Grandson of Joseph Bigglestone, Lucas has an unremarkable history prior to his involvement with Fortune Unlimited. He attended a county school in Michigan, USA, before going on and studying programming at Harvard, a course he completed with distinctions. He ran into trouble not long after his graduation for being involved in the hacking and embezzlement of millions of dollars from the United States oil company Chevron. Joseph Bigglestone involved himself in the following investigation, with authorization from Jack Fortune, and successfully extracted his grandson from the United States of America, setting him up in Alaska.

Following his rescue at the hands of his grandfather Lucas began working for Fortune Unlimited, eventually earning the position of Intelligence Expert in the Second Company, 'The Justicars', after the retirement of the former Intelligence Expert Ryan White. Lucas Bigglestone is percieved by many to be lazy and arrogant, but he has shown a deep loyalty to his company and his grandfather.

Yuri Gorchev, Callsign 'Tsar'
Demolitions Expert of Fortune Unlimited Second Company, 'The Justicars'

Trained by the Russian Armed Forces since his 21st birthday, Yuri Gorchev was a Russian nationalist in every sense of the word. He rose through the ranks of the Russian Army as an engineer, eventually being given a command of his own platoon, until the Moscow Revolts of 2021. Ordered to fire on civilians that were peacefully protesting, Yuri refused and was court-martialled by his commanding officer. Yuri, rather than await his trial, killed his superior and fled from Russia to Sweden.

Whilst in Sweden Yuri Gorchev became a sympathizer of the Communist movement and joined the Communist Party of Sweden. As the party was outlawed, Yuri worked with the organization in attacking and weakening the state so that a proletariat republic could be established. He, and fellow conspirators, were captured in 2029 and were put on trial. During this time Yuri became disillusioned with the Communist Party, and the movement in general, as he saw his former brothers-in-arms testify against one another in a bid to escape execution. Yuri became a nihilist, and remained silent throughout the entire trial, being sentenced for execution in January 2030.

The Fortune Unlimited Second Company, 'The Justicars', had a contract that involved them in Sweden at that time and Joseph Bigglestone, for unknown reasons, freed Yuri Gorchev. Following the successful completion of their contract the Justicars returned to Anchorage, Alaska, with Yuri Gorchev in tow. Yuri applied for a position in Fortune Unlimited and was quickly accepted after he demonstrated his capabilities. He was soon appointed to the Second Company, where he swiftly became the company's Demolitions Expert, and has served loyally and ably since.

Yuri Gorchev is regarded as a rather strange man, with a dark sense of humour, and a tendency for alcoholism. Despite these less than endearing qualities, Yuri has demonstrated unwavering bravery when under fire, and stoic resistance to any psychological warfare employed by enemy operatives.

This man was born early in the 20th century in Batavia,Java in what was back then the Dutch East Indies.He fought in many a war across the globe untill he was called back by the KNIL to help fight the Japanese.After the KNIL lost the war he was captured and put to work on the Birma railroad, when he made his escape in late 1944, he was a skeleton of his former self, and fled to the USA.After WWII he fought in the Indonesian rebellion and lost his family, slaughtered by the insurgents.He took part in a few other conflicts, and retired in 1985 in his ancestral homeland, the Netherlands.What would have been his end proved different, as in 2030, when he was 110 years old, he was chosen for the deaging programm.So although he is 119 years old, He has the body of a 27 year old man due to this programm.After getting his de-aging treatment,he went off to the republic of Alaska, dissatisfied with how politics in the Netherlands were going.He joined up with Fortune Unlimited and in these 9 years, he has gone from engineering private to the commander of the 5th Company.Although he acts like a man from the 1940s, he is up to date with modern technology.
