Is anyone else seeing this? Just reloaded five times and keep seeing them make this choice. I want to play as British Raj but it's no fun with no war. :(

You either have extremely poor luck or there is something wrong with your event file, go check it out in order too see what's the chance of it happening.

Out of interest, does anyone have any UK/France strategies for dealing with Germany if they choose to leave Belgium alone? It appears that Russia is taking a pounding and won't make it to Christmas 1914 unless something is done. Ideas?

P.S. The Ottomans have stayed neutral.

So the only open front is through the Vosges? Ouch. The best option is to knock out the German Navy and station a blockade in Heligoland Bay. Check Wilhelmshaven and pray it's empty. Group your transports together and send the biggest amphibious assault mission you can--even though you don't have the tech to do anything larger than 1-2 divisions without a penalty it won't matter against an empty province. You'll have several relatively strong divisions and you can attack southward.

Another option is shoring up Serbia. It will draw away German divisions, but it's a bruuutal fight that greatly favors the defenders and doesn't threaten German industry.

Some interesting ideas here, thanks. I have been experimenting with attacking Gallipoli with a crap-ton of battleships and about 18 divisions. It's not really working though. :(

You are correct about Serbia. It is a non-starter since the CP already have around 10 divisions stationed on the border with Thessaloniki. To try and break through would likely be an expensive bloodbath and achieve very little indeed.

In my game it is February 1915 and Russia cannot last much longer. There have been several massive encirclements by Germany which have destroyed dozens of their divisions. The only real positive so far is that I have destroyed several hundred German convoys. Strangely, though, they seem to have more than they did at the beginning... Hopefully this means they have been spending lots of precious IC on building replacements (to carry out the important job of resupplying Samoa and Qingdao  ).
