Modern Days Scenario - Freedom Claims Europe back

So, I want to start.

1991: on 25th December, the red flag was removed from the hill of the Kremlin. That red flag, that was posed even over the Reichstag 46 years before, stopped to be the symbol of the Russian people. A change was made, under the pressures of the internal dissent due to the high poverty among the common people and in the rural zones, and of the whole international community. We all know 2 people who wanted the communism to fall and the dictatorship go away from the eastern zone of the Iron Curtain: Ronald Reagan, the republican US President, whose best speech is about the (in)famous wall of Berlin, was one of them.

He was the other one, we know about him. John Paulus II, the Pope of the time, who managed to make communism fall in Poland. The Soviets knew about the treat represented by a priest who wore a white dress, and tried to kill him in 1981 with an undercover operation:



But nothing managed to stop what was not stoppable: Boris Eltsin, despite more than the 66% (it is real, took from the article of an Italian communist paper, "Il Manifesto") of the nation still wanted a USSR as a federation, declared the dissolution of the Soviet state with the presidents of Ukraine and Belarus. Gorbacev resigned, and so, since 1992, a new flag was representing Russia.



2015: 24 years later this event, surveys make notice that 54% of the Russians "miss" USSR. The new Communist Party of the Russian Federation has the 20% of the places at the Duma, and enjoys a lot of consenses in the whole Russia. In Novosibirsk, it won the elections.



During this time, the tensions between NATO and Russia for the Ukrainian question increased. The Russian public opinion thinks that the USA have no rights to intervene in this dispute, among with NATO and EU. The relations between the new entities are at their lowest since 1991. And we all know about this.

The KPRF started to put the accent on the nationalism: they start to blame Putin's operate, they tell that he isn't doing everything in his disposal to win this dispute, that he is betraying the tradition of the Russian leadership of all the slavic people.
Riots and manifestations start all across Russia to claim more strenght and less sneaky actions: no diplomatic moves, but battles and making clear who is the strong.
A comitium in the Red Square on 25th of December, with Gennadij Zjuganov standing in front of Lenin's mausoleum, states even stronger these principles, while denouncing the "unacceptable differences between the urban districts of Moscow and St. Peterburg and the rural zones". He blames all the presidents of the Russian Federation, who care to make themselves rich with the new capitalistic system, while forgetting "who saved them during the black period of the German invasion".

Due to the massive presence of people, a division of paratroopers was guarding the Kremlin to avoid disorders. But then, one of the soldiers, named Vasilij Morozov, decided to leave his position to listen better. His superiors didn't stop him: more and more joined the young man, and went to listen.

It was clear that KPRF was getting more consense, and its ideals were circulating among the army.

Then, on 2nd of May, 2016, something changed. A new manifestation started, and more than 800,000 Russians were celebrating the 71st year of the conquer of Berlin. Pictures of Stalin were seen in the crowd, which asked to their politicians to take example. The crowd started to approach to the Kremlin. There were violent battles against the police, but the rioters were able to stand. The special squads, the "OMON", were called to bring back order, but no one arrived. It was a perfect mutiny.

9th of May. A week later, the crowd doubled with people from all Russia. Putin, blocked inside the Kremlin, ordered the intervention of an armoured division in Moscow, ready to liberate the Red Square with the tanks, if it was necessary.

10th of May, 03:35 AM. The tanks arrived, among with regular infantry. They just stop at the gates of the square, presumibily awaiting for orders.
The world follows the events with great attention.
EU starts to garrison the borders of the union, ready for the worst. On 8th of May, German tanks were crossing Poland in order to reach the borders with Belarus and Ukraine. Great worries are expressed not only by Angela Merkel, but also by the British Prime Minister and by his French collague.
USA puts DEFCON 3: the last time, it was more than 14 years ago, due to the collapse of Twin Towers.
China and North Korea give their "bless" to their red comrades.
Russian troops at the border with Ukraine are in stand-by.
UN, as usual, is divided, for this reason.
NATO warns that every action done by Russians against other countries "will have consequences".

10:27 AM
Molotovs start to be thrown near the gates of the Kremlin. Putins order "to open fire". A T-90 does so: the gates of the Kremlin are open now, and infantry starts to shoot against snipers guarding the palace.
From one tank, the commander exits with Zjuganov, who goes at the front and leads the crowd inside.

11:33 AM
A Mi-17 arrives to rescue the President, but it is shot down by a SAM of the rebels.

The red flag stands back on the roof of the Kremlin. 10 minutes later, Zjuganov calles the main televisions. Over Moscow, interceptors patrol the sky.

After being declared guilty for treason against Russian interests and towards his people, Vladimir Putin is executed in front of cameras. Zjuganov declares the return of the Communist regime back to the places that belonged to it. His second, Nikolay Kharitonov, is appointed as Chief of State. Zjuganov takes for him the place of Chief of Government.

They officially claim for themselves the territories of Belarus, Ukraine and of the baltic states.

NATO answers guaranteering the indipendence of the three republics and of Belarus and Ukraine. Belarus refuses and accepts, instead, the union with Moscow.

00:00 AM, 11th of May. Nothing happens anymore. It even looks like that Russian troops withdraw from the Ukrainian border and impose a ceasefire to the rebels.

Actually, it will be descovered that Kharitonov warned Zjuganov about the situation of the Russian army: outdated troops, logistics, navy and airforce. It was better to reform the army, rather than going immediately on the offensive.

7th of June: on the anniversary of D-Day, the new Communist Russian offers "guarantees" that no Russian soldier will trespass the borders of the federation. He then offers to leave the military control of Konisgberg/Kaliningrad in exchange of the guarantee that the new Russian government will solve the Ukrainian question alone, without any interference of NATO.
Obama accepts. Polish troops enter in Konigsberg, they find it empty of Russian people and the military base is a desert: no weaponary, no equipment, no balistic missles.

Later, it will be known that the Russian government placed those missles in Belarus and a rebuilding of the army was started.

The situations flows good until August of 2020. Russia seemed to get back to isolationism, the rebels in Ukraine surrended to the legitimate government. It even looks that, despite the trades are much less than in the past, Russians are still in a very good situations: they travel all across the world, and spend a lot of money abroad.
It looks that the industrialization plans led by KPRF are perfect for their country.

19th of August, 2020.
A guy writes on Twitter that "T-90s are heard all near Donetsk. What the hell is happening?".
It is happening that the FSB alerted the rebels and spies sent all over Ukraine to start attempting against the legitimate government, while troops are parrachuted over kiev and tanks are marching from east.
In just 3 days, a puppet government, led by Valery Bolotov, was installed. The only act was accepting the annexation of Ukrain in Moscow's sphere. Strong protests issued by Hillary Clinton, who went after Obama at the White House in November 2016. but nothing more than this. Kharitonov just did not care about them, answering that "NATO promised to remain out of the question, 4 years ago. Don't you remember that?". The whole US and Europe was astonished.

In 1st October, Russia declared war to its only neigbour that was not fearing their invasion, but was awaiting and gearing up: Finland.
But, as a member of the NATO (it entered in 2017), it was a declaration of war to the whole alliance.
Actually, not the whole. Turkey decided not to entervene, maybe fearing that it's too close to the communist giant.

Immediately Norway decided to send troops and whatever could help its Scandinavian mate to save him. They fought with great determination, but nothing could have been done: after an initial capacity to block their enemy thanks to the forest and hills, nothing could be done. on 2nd of November Russians were able to break through the central regions of Finland and the Finnish army, among a lot of Norvegian Reinforcements, were cut off.
Meanwhile, a blockade of the Russian navy managed to block the Baltic Sea. Only the Deutsche Marine was able to stop them by cutting off the whole Scandinavian Peninsula.
The defense of Helsinki was desperate, but on 16th of November it fell. The Russians stopped in the region of Alta. Meanwhile, Sweden was sitting in her isolationism, also for claims on Finnish territories.
On 1st December, their attention moved towards baltic regions. If Finnish managed to put a stand, The three baltic states could not. In just a week Talinn and Vinlius and Riga fell. Only a few Polish divisions could move in help. Meanwhile, a NATO coalition was sending to Poland an expeditionary force and fortifying the borders of Germany. On 11th December, the first US divisions landed in Hamburg. 100,000 men, but more and more were going to be mobilized.
The Polish gave to history a great proof of courage, by retaking immediately konigsberg and advancing in belarus...

- CONTINUATION OF THE PREVIOUS POST -

... but their generals made an unfogettable mistake by not leaving forces guarding their rear. The Russians managed to breach into a point of the front, and heavily penetrated into the polish territory. After few days, the German Navy, helped in her defencing role by the Royal Navy and some US ships, was defeated in the Baltic. It was the 20th of december. Russian divisions were landing in Danzig. On the 31st, Warsaw was surrounded. The Polish had no other chance but surrendering. Their fate was the annexation, and Russian divisions pushing on the NATO fortifications on the Oder line. In the meanwhile, Moldavia, Romania and Bulgaria knew that nothing could have been done to stop them, as they were out of the defensive lines and the other big piece of the Russian navy was in Sevastopol, ready to blast their coasts with shells.
Moldavia was annexed, as it was "part of our Union", while the other countries were spared and, for this, the governments became extremely loyal to Russians. Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia signed a non-aggression pact, proposed by Moscow itself due to "their brotherhood in the centuries". The same pact was proposed also to Croatia and Slovenia, but they answered "we have never suffered communism by Belgrade. We conquered our indipendece from Yugoslavia by giving our blood, we will die rather than kneeing in front of the bear". Immediately after, on 5th January, they signed a special pact with Italy: Rome would have granted their indipendece, and in case of victory they would have returned the "Venetia - Iulia" and Istria to their territory.

Italy showed a great care for the war. This has to be said. Their forces were garrisoning the borders, their partners, a task force was ready to help Greece and Malta. The ports were open for the US Navy and other ships who wanted to defend what remained of Europe.

For the whole January, the situation was a stalemate. Some Russian depot was bombed by NATO airforce, but satellites clearly shown that Russian ground forces were too much to handle for now.
The US Military staff proposed to threat the Commies with some nuclear gift, but Hillary Clinton strongly refused, as she knew that it just meant to put American and European people under a even worse situation, and the nuclear holocaust was worse than a Communist world.

On the 27th of January, the Russians striked against German territories. The only objective was Berlin. The battle of the Oder started.
Thanks to the million of American soldier, there seemed to be an effective resistance. The Abrams proved to be far superior to the Russians T-90, reduced to scrap metal also by the A-10 Thunderbolts flying over the battlefield.
Even the Czech Republic, in joint operations with Slovakia and Hungary to manage this emergency, was showing a great resistence, helped by the natural defences that are mountanins and hills, aided by the Italian mountaineers. Over the borders, there was a great battle.

The turning point was in the Mediterranean. On the 10th February, the Russian navy moved toward the Bosforo strait, and established a control of their sea. The little Greek navy could not do anything. Italy and her allies fastly moved, but it was too late: Romania and Bulgaria revealed to be wonderful puppets towards Russia, and they arrived in Thessalonika. In the meantime, Athens was occupied. Only the so-called "Dodecaneso" was spared, for unknown reasons.
The capitulation of Greece, on 21st of February, was followed by the immediate occupation of Albania and Kosovo. The situations was now dramatic, as Russia could easily face Italy.

This led to Rome to withdraw every soldier, in order to guard the coasts and to rely on the Alps for the north. The reaction of NATO was extremely harsh: Italy never provided a lot of fidelty, and was now left alone, under the eyes of the Communists, who always wanted to control the country.

So it was. The Italian navy, outdated, was destroyed by Moscow. Then, on 5th of March, The first troops landed in Taranto, which was immediately abandoned. The same happened in Sicily and Sardinia. Neither the French did nothing. The Italians fortified the hills of the center and the mountains of the north, but the Russians were too strong for their little army. Naples, than Rome. Rome was spared only because every soldier, and the government, had fled away. Thenew capital was Turin. The Italian front was running over the borders of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna.
The withdarw of high specialized troops made the Czech-Slovak-Hungarian front collapse. There were great massacres in Prague, a city that never suffered Russian domination. On the 1st of April, even Vienna fell. This time, the Russian brutality was worse: the city was destroyed, and every inhabitant was killed. They wanted to lower the German moral.
Germany was surrounded. But they never lost moral, and the bombardments and reinforcements by the NATO forces ensured that the front did not collapse.

1st of April, 2021. It was not a fool the communication, from Alaska, of Russian troops. The same message came from Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec. It was a shock the fall of Canada, after 9 days of resistance, that kept only few troops to garrison the most important zones, while the main block was at the orders of the British in Europe. But the Russians didn't annex it. They made a puppet, maybe more humiliating than total annexation. At the chief, there was nominally the Queen, but she had even fewer power than in normal conditions.

In the meantime, US forces withdrew from Europe, in order to defend better their borders. Only a force of 50,000 men remained. It was clear that the Oder line was no longer covered by enough men, but the Germans, French, English, Spanish and the few of Portuguese divisions that were mobilized didn't want to put a step backwards.

So the 15th of april arrived. And the most feared thing of the whole Cold War was real: Russians soldiers on the US soil. The Main directions of the offensive were Chicago, New York and Seattle at first. In the meantime, Chinese divisions landed on the hawaii islands. The great extension of the US territory played both against the invaders and the defenders.
Russians cared to advance across the coasts and then to the main cities, while instead the Americans tried to break the russian forces into many small groups in order to encircle them. It wasn't wrong, but it completely failed when the Russians counter-encircled them. This was the case of the fall of New York, Washington and Los Angeles. The Statue of Freedom was destroyed, the White House was empty, with all the signs of people that suddendly escaped. The president moved to Houston, Texas. On the 11th of May, USA were reduced to the southcentral and midwest. Then the Russians managed to merge in Kansas, Okhlaoma, Arkansas and Colorado. Cut off, the US troops were starving. Hillary Clinton, then, decided to sign a peace. The United states broke apart, divided in one macro-entity and one micro-state. The islands were divided by Russia and China, instead.

In the meantime, war arrived in Berlin. The Oder line was destroyed easily by a Russian offensive, and the Bundeswehr had to defend their capital, for the second time in 76 years.

It can be argued if the Germans had even a possibility to do that. But I supposed that in these situations, you just do whatever is in your possibilities. Nowadays, Berlin is just a great merge of ruins. This is due to the encirclement of a lot of the German army. There were a lot of prisoners, but no one will tell you that. They were all killed by the Russian army.
Maybe just some hundreds saved.

What remained fell back towards the Maginot line. Heavy fortifications were built even in the Ardennes. The French learnt the lesson of Fall Rot.
This meant just a delay of what was inevitable.

24th of May. Russian ships landed troops in England. The British learnt the lessons of the Americans, and English troops were there to hail the newcomers on their coasts. And they managed, but this was just the first wave. Then Russia started to land also on Scotland. It was a surprise, and Scotland immediately fell. The English showed their virtue, but this wasn't enough against tons of Russian soldiers. London fell on 20th of June. The government and the Royal family escaped in Belfast. We don't know why, but the bear didn't care about Ireland.

The capture of British Islands, and the escape of the whole army in Gibilrar, left the whole north Atlantic sea ungarrisoned. And this led to the final act: the invasion, on the same time, of France and Spain. After a desperate defense of the coasts, Spain surrended, among with Portugal. France was left alone in this desperate struggle. Attacked by the south, from Italy and Spain, and by the north, the last free banner of Europe fell on 4th of August. Freedom was cancelled by Europe.

But somewhere in the world, democracy was still standing.
Japan, the Republic of China/Taiwan, Great Britain, Australia, New Zeland, Greece, Gabon, Djbouti, Central Africa, Chad. These states are still fighting.
The speech of the prime minister of GB was heard all over these countries, and a lot of tears were dropped.

"We can't surrender. We can't. I know it is insane, but we must stand. We owe it to every single soldier and state fell under the totalitarian madness. We owe it to our grandfathers, to the various Churchill, or De Gaulle, or Roosevelt. We owe it to those who, in 1789, claimed in the streets "Libertè, Egalitè, Fraternitè". We owe it to the Americans of 1776, who taught us to fight for freedom. If we surrend now, we will lose our identity, our history. Every conquest made in this centuries, everything we fought for won't exist anymore. Just think to your families: there will surely be one dead in some war, fought for the defense of our principles. If we surrend now, we will spit on their faces.
I know that it can be stupid for you, but we will never be defeated. We will be destroyed, maybe, but we will not be defeated."

14th August, 2028

The war goes on for 7 years. Nothing, after August 2021, happened. A great stalemate, that now is going to go away.

This is the situation of europe



As you can see, the whole Europe is under military control of Russia.
Only few countries still exists. Finland, Romania and Bulgaria live as puppets of Russia. The fall of Denmark gave also the territories of Greenland and Iceland.
Sweden and Ireland weren't involved in the war, even if they had pacts with their neighbours for mutual defence.
Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia were not touched for the "slavic brotherhood".
Switzerland, as usual, just cared about having enough money and being able to sell chocolate. Even if Russia is so belligerant that even Switzerland could DOW her.
Turkey remained out of war too, as I told.

Then you can see Canada and Quebec, a puppet state created "ad hoc" by Russia to further humiliate northern Americans.
But Japan is coming for help, as we landed forces in Miami.



The war in the pacific. As you can see (or try), Japan conquered some islands.

The resistance is active in the whole Europe. In every province partisan activity is extremely high.
In France there are "Les nouveaux maquisards", in Italy a raise of the extreme-right movements led to the "Black Shirts" (Camicie Nere), well known during Mussolini's time. In Germany there was the "Volkdeutsche armekorps", formed expecially by survivors of the war who managed to escape. In Britain, we have the "Civil Army". Just think that Russians now have forbidden songs like "La marseillaise" or "La marcia del Piave" or "Das Lied der Deutchland", as symbols of the resistance.
The most brilliant result was made in Corsica: the partisans were able to defeat Russian garrisons on that island.

In Asia, Japan is holding hard. After the fall of the USA, the US fleet and what survived of the US Armed Forces, was able to escape there. The General Petreus, called at duty again, gave a letter to the Empereor Akhito written by the president.

"Empereor Akhito,
we did a lot for your country after the war. We considered you as a friend, after 1945. We helped you. Now you have the task to help us, for something higher than respecting each other: the defense of freedom. Now you are the leader of the NATO. Use these forces at your own desire, but save us from Russia."

The Empereor accepted. The war was going on. And Japan had to guide the alliance for the rebirth of freedom and the death of communism. He had only to choose where to start

The first step was changing the policy. There is a war that we have got to win, and so we have to change some things. (To be honest, I used "freedom" because some options had to be adapted also for the history). So, the empereor promoted a series of reforms, which were approved by using the reason of "homeland in danger".



We mantain our culture: still a democracy, much more oriented toward liberal ideas rather than socio-democratic ideas, and we are not yet the most open society for foreigners. Expecially, we shall never give democracy away: we are superior than Russians, and "who sacrifices freedom for security does not deserve one and the other thing". But now we are at war, so we don't need ideals, but concrete actions, and this brought us towards "Hawk Lobby". And, expecially, we can't win this war alone. We need as more allies as possible, so we must go out from our traditional isolationism.

Second, we need as much manpower as possible. We will need soldiers but also workers for our military production.



Third, we have got to make our industrial production more rational. Time to adjustate slides. No comment about the production, I'll let it go without touching it. I think that I'll need everything in order to garrison my annexed territories in the future. I also order the building of radar station, in order to set my airplanes on "air scramble" (I mean, interceptors)



Our technological progresses for now are excellent. Now I'm focusing on Heavy Carriers, where Japan is surprisingly in a very bad position.

While I was adjusting, I had a notice. It wasn't good:



This makes me also think that I'll have to deal with Russian garrisons and even SSA troops. The SSA can rely over their full industrial power, it will be an extremely hard war. However, I always thought that what was made in that savegame was fool, and I used it only to gain this precious information for my real offensive.

Then, I started looking for alliance. We must put Russia under pressure somewhere. So, China is an ally of Russia and I want to make China feel not so safe. What about India?



India can rely on massive manpower and a massive army. I also have very good relations. But the chance of Indians as ally is 0. Can someone tell me how to increase it?
Near India there is pakistan. I just want to make China have to worry about something.



This time things went good. A new allied for the cause of freedom.



On the top, the results of my recuritment campaign. Now we can reinforce our divisions and carry on the heavy industrial production.

So, landing in Russia or in China is a suicide. And I need as more allies as possible. It's time to free the USA from their Russian exploiter. And to give Canada back to the queen.




Some islands of the Pacific are already under our control. We must get towards the Haiwaii, occupy them and then preparing a D-Day against the SSA. My landing zones are going to be the key territories of California, in order to annex it and to have a "head of bridge" (hope you understand what I mean) on the American soil. For that time, I hope to have Mexico in my alliance too. The relations are very good, they share my ideology but again chance is 0. It would be very good to keep the pressure over Texas.

In order to do this, we must reorganize our navy, by also using all the US forces which managed to escape after the defeat in 2021.
I chose to use, for this "WWII reverse campaign" (I'll do island by island... All those Makin, wake, Midway, everyone of those islands, a century later, will become again theatre of war), the "Naval Primer" suggests. So, I started to build Marine Transport Task Force, with hybrids of Transport vessels and DD/frigates joint with Carriers and BBs when I'll have them. Then, I'll produce also some Surface Action Groups.
It will be a slow period guys, but we must be sure of what we do.

Actually, I know nothing about Japanese culture (I'm Italian) or political situation or these things, I chose it because it is the only faction that has a reasonable chance to win this war.

Again, I'm sorry that the AAR is going very slowly, but all of my forces are busy for the war against maths and chemistry (I'm studying to become an engineer)

Not for now man... as I wrote, invading Russia or China is a suicide for now.
If I invade China, it is a too large territory to conquer and the partisans would be a serious threat. There will also be the Russian intervention in defense of their comrades.
If I invade Russia now from Siberia, even worse as I'll be "entre le marteu et l'enclume"



It can be a good idea when I take back Europe to put more pressure, but it will be something extremely far, I suppose. And I hope for that time that Pakistan and maybe India will be helping me against China, or it will still be very complicate.

The whole situation is very difficult, so I need to put all my efforts to liberating US and Canada for now. Then maybe I can land on UK to give 'em support in retaking the home islands.

I always seen acceptall as a "dirty" cheat... "freedom" just lets you to edit some slides, acceptall instead makes things too easy... I think that I'll use it, for when I'll liberate USA or Canada or Spain or France, then making them puppets andò then making them free states in my alliance. If I trigger it now, I could also ask smaller nations military access andò it would ne very unrealistic. So, I'll rely on my forces and "I nave my selful confidente that if I'll do my duty, and nothing is neglected, I'll be able to defende freedom and to ride out the storm of war, if necessary for years, if necessary alone"
