Solitude comes
AARs pile a foot high
Near by bed.

To this tale of Japan,
Slow as meditation
Welcome, my readers.

I’m not the first one
To AAR in haiku…
Evoke memories.

EU-2 version 1.07:
Over vastness of planet
Dreams wander on.

Latest patches applied:
Improve the essence of game…
Savour delicacy.

Normal/Normal.
Simplicity
Is seductive.

Join me, to paint
Word pictures so clear, so sharp
Like katana blades.

Dew drop falls from a
leaf-point: indeed, how slowly
A mountain stream starts.

A Japanese Haiku AAR? Looking forward to it, we have too few poetry AARs here. :)

*arilou scared*
Mostly because I can never remember how many syllables it's supposed to be :O)

From every direction
Cherry blossom petals blow
Into Lake Biwa

Gaijin went mad
And is spamming the webspace
With his AARs.

:)

With more friends
Replying to this story
I bow to the screen.

Intention matters 95%
Method matters only 5%
Complete tolerance.

:)

A map of dew drops.
And in every small droplet
a world of violence.
Samurai.jpg

A learned samurai:
Comes our first diplomat…
Utter aloneness.

By blooming peach flowers
And by the lantern of moon
He goes to China.

Thunder and lightning.
The startled Chinese receive
A statement of war.

Nothing in the cry
of cicadas suggests they
are about to die.

Manchu from the North
Daiviet from the South, and we
from the Eastern seas.

Even the strongest
Oak tree breaks when it is
Bent by tsunami.

The war rages on...
Under dead soldier's helmet,
a cricket sings.

A proud Mandarin
brings us a scroll, and in it
three provinces. Peace.

I’ve used liberally inspirations and direct quotations from the great Basho.

Isn't that the picture of the "Warrior Code" improvement from CIV2?

Nice first installment, Gaijin! Exactly how far into the game have you progressed?

And I wonder how long it will be before M-T pops in? ;)

A very unorthodox AAR which you seem to be handling very well! But why should I be surprised? :)

Five sylables good
Seven more even better
Five ends poem for all

But I think Sasha is going to be more liberal.:D

Joe

Like misty moonlight
Is exquisite and dreamlike
The haiku spirit.

Counting syllables
Like counting stars in the sky,
Mystifies your mind…

Reply in haiku
Charm yourself with elegance
Enjoy graceful game.

Elegance achieved
In form, speech and contents.
To read it: joy.

This is amazing. I've always admired people who can write any kind of poetry, probably because I've never been any good at it!

And it is interesting to see the Chinese provinces in Russian. It's already difficult enough to pronounce anything from China, then I have to consider all the intricacies of Russian pronunciation. I've come to the conclusion that the Russian and Chinese languages are best kept apart.

×æýöçÿí??!!

Keep up the good work!

change is a constant
though in spite of such courage
Words may fall silent
