Werewolf Lite CCCXVI: Jeopardy!

JRLEiQ3.jpg

This… Is… Werewolf Jeopardy! It’s the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions, and you are the contestants. Most of you are human beings, armed only with your native intelligence and knowledge of numerous absurd facts. Some of you are not just human, though. Watson, the Jeopardy!-playing computer, has taken over the minds of a number of the contestants, in an attempt to assert the dominance of computers over merely human Jeopardy! players; each night, Watson will take over these players and allow them to dominate their competition without mercy. It is up to the human contestants to discover which of you are only artificially intelligent, and eliminate them, lest the machines usurp the rightful trivia dominance of humanity.

Thanks again to EUROO7 for helping with the theme.

The Set-Up:
There will be 17 players, no more and no less. Roles will be distributed following the signup of the 17th player and the game will proceed to night 0.

Possible Role Set-ups: These are the possible ways roles will be distributed. I will randomly select one set-up; each possibility has an equal chance of being chosen. Once the set-up is determined, it will stay that way throughout the entire game. Players will not be informed which setup is operative at any given time.

Fall Weiß
1x IBM Technician
4x Watson-controlled Contestants
12x Jeopardy! Champions

Fall Grün
1x Electrician
4x Watson-controlled Contestants
12x Jeopardy! Champions

Fall Gelb
1x IBM Technician
1x Electrician
1x Evil Programmer
4x Watson-controlled Contestants
10x Jeopardy! Champions

Fall Blau
1x IBM Technician
1x Evil Programmer
3x Watson-controlled Contestants
12x Jeopardy! Champions

Fall Rot
3x Watson-controlled Contestants
14x Jeopardy! Champions

The Roles:
Jeopardy! Champions (Villagers): Jeopardy champions, trying to defeat their more powerful computer opponents. Will band together to try to identify and eliminate computer opponents during the day.
Watson-Controlled Contestants (Werewolves): These contestants have been taken over by Watson, granting them superhuman abilities to answer questions, and even more critically, buzz in way faster than any ordinary person could hope to do. Can eliminate one other contestant each night.
IBM Technician (Seer): This contestant isn’t your ordinary Jeopardy! champion; he also has extensive computer knowledge, and can tell the difference between a real champion and one under the control of Watson. Every night, he may scan one contestant and determine whether or not they are under Watson’s control.
Electrician (Guardian Angel): Sometimes, a conveniently-timed power outage may be necessary to save a contestant from imminent defeat. If the electrician sees a contestant about to lose to Watson’s minions, he can pull the plug and save that contestant for another day. He cannot be on station to protect the same contestant on consecutive nights, however. (Translation: Chooses somebody to protect at night, and if that person is targeted by the wolves, he will survive that night.)
Evil Programmer(Warlock): Responsible for Watson’s newfound ability to take over human players, and wants to see his creations victorious over the human players. Each night, can interfere with one player’s nightly actions, blocking them from accomplishing anything. Will not prevent a hunt unless he blocks the last Watson-controlled contestant. Scans as human to the IBM technician.

Other:
The color #ADD8E6 (light blue) is reserved to the GM. Ghosts/spectators may not use it.

Roleplay:
You’re contestants on a TV game show, and you’re supposed to be pretty good ones, too. As such, you are bound to have quirky and bizarre personalities that should give you ample opportunity for RP, if you so desire.

Deadline:
The deadline for this game will be 19:00 GMT. Votes at any time up to and including 18:59 WILL count, while those at 19:00 or later WILL NOT.

How to Win:
The Jeopardy! champions win by eliminating all the Watson-controlled contestants. The Watson-controlled contestants win by reaching parity with all the other players, at which point the ordinary contestants are too few in number to stand a chance against their superior foes.

The Rules:
§1a. You sign up for the game by requesting so in a post in this thread.
§1b. No new players will be admitted into the game once it has started, except as substitutes for a current player.
§1c. Players may at any time request a substitute in the thread.
§2a. Failure to vote on a given day will result in replacement or autokilling of the offending player. The granting of any "grace period" or forgiveness for late votes is entirely up to the GM.
§2b. Invalid votes will be treated as a failure to vote, and may result in substitution.
§3a. You are responsible for keeping your private message inbox empty enough to receive private messages. It is your fault if you miss important messages due to your inbox being full.
§3b. Quoting PMs from the GM is strictly forbidden; violation of this will result in an autolynch.
§3c. Forging of PMs from other players is allowed.
§3d. Screenshots of private messages are not permitted.
§4. Orders not delivered on time will be ignored and possibly mocked by the GM.
§5a. SPECTATORS AND GHOSTS MAY HAUNT, TAUNT AND FLAUNT, BUT NEVER SUGGEST ANY COURSE OF ACTION, AFFECT THE GAME IN ANY OTHER WAY NOR REVEAL ANY SECRET/INSIDE INFORMATION. ANYONE CAUGHT DOING IT WILL BE *PERMANENTLY* BANNED FROM PARTICIPATION. NO EXCUSES ARE VALID.
§5b. When doing ghost/spectator commentary, please use a non-white colour.
§6 Alliances or feuds between players which aren't based on your roles in the game are forbidden. Alliances or feuds which continue from one game to another undermine the whole idea of the game.
§7a Voting must be done in the following way. Write "VOTE" and the person you are voting for in bold text, preferably separated from any other words in your post. I will attempt to count any and all votes made, but I am not responsible for failing to notice a vote if it has not been clearly delineated as such. Here is an example vote:
VOTE X
If you wish to unvote someone, write "UNVOTE":
UNVOTE X, VOTE Y
Capital letters are optional. Misspelled player names or nicknames are acceptable, as long as it is clear whom you are voting. If you fail to unvote before voting again, or unvote the “wrong” person and vote someone new, the new vote WILL BE COUNTED.
§7b Editing a vote after it is made is forbidden, and if sufficiently egregious, may result in autolynching at the GM’s discretion.
§7c At the end of the day the player with the most votes is killed (lynched). If there is a tie, all leading candidates will be killed.
§8 Players leading the lynch vote are considered to be dead immediately following deadline, and are to post in ghost mode from that point forward. All other players are considered alive until the hunt is revealed.
§9. - The GM can and will remove players if the GM believes the player is not participating at his/her full capacity. This will be done through the use of killing the player's role, or using substitutes, if they are available. All such decisions are made solely at the discretion of the GM. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE GAME IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE.
§10A. – Trust no one. Especially not the GM.
§10B. - Always Trust the GM.
§11. SPECIAL RULE FOR THIS GAME ONLY: At the start of every day, the GM will provide the players with a “Daily Double” answer. The first player to give a correct response (which must be given in the form of a question), whether in the thread or by PM, will have the option of making his vote count double for that day.

Does the warlock start in contact with the pack? Either way I think it can be a quick way for a JL to disintegrate to have an unscannable warlock; though if he isn't then there isn't much reason to have him.

No, the warlock does not start in contact. The warlock can also be hunted by the wolves. I think it's fair.

Does he count for parity? Because he will make contact the instant a wolf is outed.

Yes, he does count for parity. Might make for an interesting dynamic as far as outing wolves goes. Also, the Warlock might not even exist, so there's that too.

Also before making contact?

Yes.

Claiming my reserved spot as Alfred Yankovic.

Might you reserve a spot for AOK? I believe he expressed interest in playing a lite.
