1) CW - stands for Civil War
2) ROA - Russian Liberation Army (Russkaya Osvoboditel'naya Armiya) - a volunteer formation in German Wehrmacht composed mainly of former White emigrants and Soviet PoWs and deserters who agreed to fight againts Soviets.
3) Rating - the rating to estimate skills of leaders.
4) General of Infantry, General of artillery and General of cavalry are the ranks which are higher than lieutenant-general but lower than field marshal - in Russia army these ranks were called full general ranks.
5) AFSR - Armed Forces of South of Russia -ifficial name for Denikin's army.

Rating = he's not a sort of revelation, just a general with skills below good (satisfactory will do).
Mikhail Vasilievich Alekseev (1857-1918 d. naturally in Yekaterinodar) general of infantry
WWI: Army staff commander, Front staff commander, Front commander, C.-in-C. till 11 Sept. 1917.
CW - Founder and commander of Volunteer army in the South of Russia.
Rating = he is characterized as very calm, pious and cold-blooded person as well as very prudent and competent staff commander and front commander - i would estimate him as excellent leader with skills of a Defensive Doctrine.
Eris-Khan Aliev (1855-1920 exec. by Reds) general of artillery
CW: In Armed Forces of Denikin, artillery division commander; Supreme Ruler of Chechnya.
Rating = mediocre
Aleksei Petrovich Arkhangel'sky (1872-1959 Belgium) lt. general
CW: Ho, ho, ho! Mata Hari of White Army!!!!
Chief of HQ in RKKA (that is in Red Army) who worked for the Whites and sent them all information directly from the HQ of Reds (Dec.1917-Feb.1919); later Duty staff general in Vrangel's troops.
Rating = excellent and more! Should have skills of a Trickster!
Vyacheslav Grigorievich Baranov (1888-1964 Britain) Mj. general
WWI: 7th aviation division commander
CW: Inspector of Ukrainian Army aviation (15 Dec. 1917-Sep. 1918); later in Don Army under Supreme command of Denikin; chief of aviation of Don Army.
Rating = good commander, professional in his sphere - Superior Tactician
Ivan Gavrilovich Barbovich (1874-1947 Germany) lt. general (19 July 1920)
CW: Mj. general (11 Dec. 1919); commander of 5th Cavalry Corps and United Corps in Crimea.
Rating = average skills, nothing more than satisfactory grade of his skills)
Nikolay Adamovich Baftalovsky (?-1929 SU) captain
WWI: staff-captain, commander of 2nd Fighter Division
CW: Denikin's army, commander of 5th and 6th Aviagroups
Taken as PoW.
Rating = average skills

Rating = Relatively good leader, but gained nothing positive in actions
Nikolay Emilievich Bredov (1873-1945 arrested in Bulgaria after WWII and died in SU) lt. general

CW: Division commander, Army group commander; one of those unbending and firm personalities - thought that CW after 1920 should take latent character.
Rating = a lot of pretentions without good ground

Rating = arghhh, sucks
baron Petr Nikolayevich Vrangel (1878-1928 Belgium) lt. general
WWI: Mj. general, Corps commander
CW: Division commander, corps commander, Commander of Volunteer Army, commander of Caucasian Army, Commander of AFSR and Russian Army.
Rating = excellent commander but to a certain degree, overconfident and risky - declined Pilsudski's offer to join efforts in the struggle against Soviets, took control over Northern Tavria and part of Donbass defeating Red Army, but after his landing in Kuban' was smashed - he had to retreat back to Crimea and then evacuate after Reds managed to overcome his defence lines. British advised him to use 11mln pounds of help for defence of Crimea, he didn't use this piece of advice, alaso Can be an adherent of Offensive Doctrine.
Vasily Efimovich Vyaz'mitinov (1874-1929 Yugoslavia) lt. general
WWI: 6th Army Corps commander
CW: chief of Army HQ, Defence minister in Vrangel's government, reserve staff officer.
Rating = professional but only good no that perfect.
Anton Ivanovich Denikin (1872-1947 US) lt. general
WWI: Chief commander of South-East Front
CW: Division commander, commander of Volunteer Army and AFSR.
Rating = ambiguously determined, on one hand he was pretty talented commander, but his foolish mistakes in commanding ruined AFSR and all of White movement; may be very good but closer to good than to excellent.
Svyatoslav Varlamovich Denisov (1878-1957 US) lt. general
CW: Don Army commander
Rating = could have been much better, only satisfactory grade
Mikhail Gordeevich Drozdovsky (1881-1919 died of wounds) mj. general (12 Nov. 1918)
CW: Commander of several divisions, one of the elite army formations was named after him after his death.
Very gifted, one of the heroes of Volunteer army!!! Made a tremendous march from Bessarabia to Don area.
Aleksei Maksimovich Kaledin (1861 - 29 Jan 1918 comm. a suicide) general of cavalry
WWI: Commander of 12th cavalry division, commander of 12 Army Corps.
CW: Ataman of Great Don Host.
Gifted in Offensive Doctrine, but unfortunately lost faith in Whites very early and very early predicted the loss of White movement
Mikhail Aleksandrovich Kedrov (1878-1945 France) vice admiral (3 Nov. 1920)
CW: Black Sea Fleet commander as a rear admiral
Rating = Several operations which gave Whites nothing of importance
Anatoly Kiprianovich Kel'chevsky (1869-1923 Germany) lt. general
WWI: 9 Army commander
CW: Chief of Don Army HQ; Defence minister in Russian Army government.
Rating = mediocre but very respected, i don't know why.
Vyacheslav Yevgenievich Klochkovsky (1873-1930 Poland) rear admiral
CW: Commander of Black Sea Fleet submarines, then migrated to Poland and served in here.
Rating = smart person, may be a good Spotter
Lavr Georgievich Kornilov (1870-31 Mar. 1918 KIA at Yekaterinodar) general of infantry
WWI: 48 infantry division commander; Corps commander, 8 Army commander, South East Front commander, C.-in-C. (19 July - 27 Aug. 1917)
CW: Volunteer army commander.
Rating = Being a very brave man he was not very capable commander. In 1915 taken as PoW by Austrians, escaped from them in 1916. Was very respected and odious, very risky and reckless
Aleksandr Pavlovich Kutepov (1882-26 Jan. 1930 killed when Soviets tried to kidnap him from Paris) lt. general (23 Jun. 1919)
CW: Worked his way up only during CW; division commander, Corps commander.
Rating = very smart and stubborn, very skilful at fighting against guerillas; in emigration continued terrorist war against Soviets in which he was so successful that riled up Reds to a last degree
Aleksandr Sergeevich Lukomsky (1868-1939 France) lt. general
CW: Chief of C.-in-C. HQ
Rating = A staff officer not very good at commanding some units, but a good staff tactician.
Vladimir Zenonovich May-Mayevsky (1867-1920 Crimea naturally) lt. general
WWI: Corps commander as mj. general
CW: Division commander, Army commander, then retired.
Rating = very moderate skills, very - and i mean it
Konstantin Konstantinovich Mamontov (1869-1920 d. of typhus) lt. general
CW: 1st Don Army commander, Cavalry Corps commander.
Rating = Very skilful!!! His cavalry troops exhausted Reds the whole of 1919, he was one of the most hated White generals. Can be Offensive Doctrine specialist - his raid in rear of Reds made a devastating effect!
Sergei Leonidovich Markov (1878-12 Jun. 1918 KIA) lt. general
WWI: Chief of South-East Front HQ
CW: Division commander, army staff chief.
Rating = Brilliant commander, brave, risky and impetuous. Offensive and Defensive master. His division composed of only officers even after his death (it was re-named after him) was the main target for the Reds - no wonder it lost its staff several times - almost all of it - just imagine for 2 years of existence his division lost over 30,000 people killed, PoWs and deserters - whereas there were 1,500 deserters, 2,000 PoWs.
Vyacheslav Grigorievich Naumenko (1883-1970 SU) lt.general
CW: Division commander, Ataman of Kuban Cossack Host.
Rating = He had no obvious success therefore Soviets allowed him to live in SU and not killed him on the spot.
Viktor Leonidovich Pokrovsky (1889-1922 killed by police in Bulgaria) lt. general
CW: Division and Corps commanders, Caucasian Army commander.
Rating = the same, no obvious striking talents, average general
Petr Kharitonovich Popov (1867-1960 US) general of cavalry
CW: Don Army commander; retired in oct. 1919.
Rating = Guess why he was retired? He was sucks!
Mikhail Nikolayevich Promtov (1857-1951 Yugoslavia) lt.general
WWI: Division commander, Corps commander.

Rating = For his "talents" was removed from the army into a deep reserve Average general

Rating = Good general and good at planning operations mainly.
Sultan Kelech Giray (?-16 Jan 1947 exec. by Soviets) mj. general
CW: Commander of Circassian division.
WWII: Very outstanding personality in Kaukasische Legion der SS, executed for this participation.
Rating = He was a pure highlander!!! Impetuous, brave and outstanding in geurilla warfares.
prince Nukh Bek Shamkhal Tarkovsky (1878-1951 Switzerland) colonel
CW: Commander of Daghestan formations; later migrated to Iran where formed Persian Cossack Division
Rating = average leader skills

CW: Commander of Elite Infantry Division "Gen. Drozdovsky" which speaks for itself - that means that he was very outstanding.
WWII: Colloborated with Nazis, commander of ROA Brigade.
Rating = Very good commander
Sergei Georgievich Ulagay (1875-1947 France) lt. general
CW: Division and Corps commander, Commander of Kuban' army during infamous landing in Kuban' in 1920 - was royally defeated.
Rating = Good general but sometimes very short-sighted
Aleksandr Petrovich Filimonov (1866-1948 Yugoslavia) lt. general
CW: Odious ataman of Kuban' Cossack Host.
Rating = not so good, maybe satisfactory skills?
Andrey Grigorievich Shkuro (1886-16 Jan. 1947 exec. by Soviets for colloboration with Nazis) lt. general (4 Apr. 1919)

CW: As mj. general Cavalry Corps commander and Commander of Kuban' Army.

Rating = outstanding character - he joined his efforts with Mamontov and together they raided the rear of Reds.
