Hi all.

When I´m playing ck2 and I try to save the game it makes a CTD and appears the following message.

runtime error.jpg

I use windows 7 professional edition and I have tried to install the following files.

I red the spanish forum where the same bug is reported and other user reccomends to install the following files:

http://www.microsoft.com/es-ES/downl...s.aspx?id=5555

http://www.microsoft.com/es-ES/downl...s.aspx?id=8328

http://www.microsoft.com/es-ES/downl...ils.aspx?id=35

I couldn´t install the first one because I have a more recent version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package (x86) and I could install the last two succesfully. Nevertheless the error still continues.

Thanks in advance for your kind support.

I am getting the exact same problem when I attempt to use the 2.0.4 beta version as I have old saves I want to play. The 2.1 version launches fine. I also attempted to download all the recommended files as I saw in another post on the steam community but as I installed them they all said I have newer versions of them all.

If you have Windows XP, or Vista/Win7/8 32bit, you may have the 32bit Windows memory problem. Try rolling back to 2.0.4 in the Steam beta tab; if that helps then do this Workaround:

1: Open Command Prompt (it's in Accessories in Vista)

2: Set it to be in Admin mode http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc947813(v=ws.10).aspx

3: Paste this in: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072

4: Restart

5: If you ever need to undo: BCDEdit /deletevalue increaseuserva

For XP only: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27...ry-errors-allow-applications-use-2gb-ram.html

Note this will NOT help if you have 2gb or less of system memory, only loading fewer DLCs will do that, or rolling back to 2.0.4 .

If you can play under 2.1.x but not 2.0.4, your problem cannot possibly be missing Microsoft modules. Nor can it be the memory issues in my last post. Frankly I'm not sure what it is, but it ain't those.

Thanks a lot mate. It really works! For a moment I thought I would leave my game with the Byzantine Empire after playing over two hundred years and acquire many territories by intrigue and marriages beginning as Alexios Komnenos.
