Uuuuuh. I don't get it. What do you guys want us to do in this game? Go to war for nothing?

Well I think/hope they're trying to make it into a more-than-just-war game, which it currently wasn't very much. Sure there is Trade, Colonialism and Infrastructure, but those were all just minor pieces in what many was basically treating as Risk with a nice coat of paint. I do hope this will become a step in the right direction.

They should probably consider fleshing out not-war before slowing down war, because slowing down the game without putting more depth and work into the part of the game that they're not nerfing just leads to sitting on speed 5. Not good gameplay.

Looks like Trade buildings will become even more of an interesting line to build.

About time ROTW got conversion bonuses.

Code:
- Neighbour bonus is now +5% per level, and can now reach up to 75% off, to let late westernisers have a chance to catch up.

YAY!!!

Now to discover the undocumented changes. I also noticed no real mention of AE. Does this mean that we will finally have stable AE, and not the changing ones we seemed to have been having.

I agree...

...but I agree here as well. These changes should happen at most at the same time as a peace time rework, not before. You open a hole before having the means to fill it.

- Enlightened despotism no longer gets -5% core cost, but instead -10% accepted culture threshold.
So does that drop it from 20% to 10% or 18%?

Call for peace is now applied to all attackers.
Even those that cannot make peace independently? (Coalition war/lesser partner)

Can no longer use Claim Throne on countries with a different dynasty.
Did you fix the tooltip this time or is it even more erroneous now?

Countries that are 50% or more apart in tech speed can no longer set each other as rivals.
Would it really have been so bad to use the same threshold vassalization/protectorate uses? Having to keep track of two separate degrees of difference just adds extra complexity.

Centers of Trade now provide 100% more tradepower and naval forcelimit.
Were the effects of the modifier doubled, was it changed to double all the tradepower and forcelimit of the province, or does it still give it's old boost and double those?

What exactly are people looking for in a peace time rework? Not that I am against adding deeper mechanics across the board, but lots of not-war stuff HAS been added and improved over time.

Province administration and improvement, factions and the centralization of power, more involved technology and culture.

Things that aren't "click this button to send a diplomat/colonist/missionary to that nation/province and watch a number go up over time" would be nice. Actual management of my nation (for example, allowing me to identify and react to rebel factions forming, and perhaps attempt to negotiate with said rebels instead of "Nah, we're rebels so we're gonna rebel and die for nothing because rebelling against a nation with 400k troops is a good idea. Promise."), more interesting and better diplomacy and espionage (being able to play nations against each other; strike deals with a nation to get them to attack another nation or to leave you alone (they actually took out being able to buy nations out of wars so don't count on this one); assassinations, etc.), and so on. Just more interesting peace time gameplay. I'm not going to sit there and try to play nations against each other while I'm at war micro-ing four stacks of troops while I guard my siege stacks, for example, but I will do what currently is in the game while I'm at war, because it's a heck of a lot easier to do static "point here, click button" than it is to do dynamic diplomacy where you get real responses relatively quickly that are formed in reaction to changing scenarios.

- Truce length now scales to the amount of warscore taken in the peace, from 5 years at white peace to 15 years at 100% warscore.
A big game changer.

- Fixed government change to NOT cost legitimacy.
- Legitimacy will no longer be set to 0 when changing governments.
- Removed the legitimacy penalty for changing governments.
Three same sentences, but worded differently?

- Fleets attempting to break blockades will if they retreat retreat back to port.
Wat?

Will there be any additional DLCs like music and new unit models along with Res Publica?
