This has probably been asked before I have that feeling but really... Knights romanticism aside were the primary noble fighting force of the Dark and Middle Ages, yet this game has no knights... Why not?

They are in the mounted units you send to battle, they are in the Holy Orders you call to arms against the heathens, they are the mighty warriors with good Martial and the Brave trait... Why would you need a special unit called "Knights" to see them?

Being a Knight was a proper position of title and nobility... They were important enough it could at least be a trait.

Its one of the enduring mysteries of CK.

because this game is half done really.Instead of focusing on giving CRUSADER Kings II a real medieval vibe, with court intrigues, real religious disputes,REAL crusade sistem, they gave us an...Indian DLC.

I m sorry to say this, but Paradox either is incapable of creating mechanics specific to the medieval period,or they try to "milk" this game with Indian and Amerindian invasions of medieval europe...Anyway,CK II is far from being complete,we may still hope some real DLC s will fix or even add medieval mechanics to it.

Otherwise,we just have a pre EU IV mod, with portraits

Well, if you want nobles as knights just add a few (1-3) knights to each holding. Then you will always have a small elite group of noblemen fighting in your battles. :)

You can roleplay the educate child option as taking a kid as a page, then as a squire and knighting him at 16.

All european male characters in game are knights from 16. Even kings. Except peasants and lowborns.

Not every noble was a knight. Not every noble even strived to become a knight because being a knight could mean to bear expensive responsibilities.
I don´t know the english translation but in german a lot of nobles only were Edelknechte
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edelknecht

Right, because all of us know german and can understand german wiki entries. And as there is no english entry, mind elaborating?

Crusades shouldn't be a DLC... They re worked them around three times since 1.0. Do you really want DLCs for core mechanics?

And... India was important for the Muslims. And Muslims are part of this game too, like Christians.

On the list for other languages, it has English. The title of that article is "Lesser Nobility."

The English article isn't the same topic... The English article is about lesser nobility in Hungary. The German article is about Edelknechts. Squire would be a possible near translation.

Good God, you people just pop up everywhere, don't you. Every time someone asks a minor gameplay question, it's all "paradox are evulz mony grabbers with no soul who don't care about the REAL people, the westerners. Teh otherz are just weird spider-goblins added for flavour."

:p.
