I have a question about the city and county of Genoa. Recently I manage to conquer it and add the place to my slowly growing Italian holdings. When I did I got the notification of an incorrect holding type. Now I can see that the main holding in the province is a city so it should have a mayor but what I don't see is the option to promote a new mayor who will be loyal to me. If I give the landed title of the county of Genoa to someone in my court will that make them the mayor and then still one of my vassals? My first thought was to give it to my unlanded youngest son but since he is a noble that wont work will it?

It should work, but it might make your youngest son unable to inherit any other titles (if I remember it right).

Hmmm? Unable to inherit? That might solve one of my other problems actually. My noble has two sons, the first is ok but he has three simple minded heirs. The second has the genius trait, stupidly high stats and just married a noblewoman with great stats as well. If that would work I could give Genoa to the older son so we could keep as part of the di Milano domains and hopefully let the younger, better son inherit the primary titles. :D I'll have to try that when I have time to boot up the game.
