What factors affect the speed of your retinue reinforcement? It seems to be related to the number of holdings in a province but I am unsure as to the exact relationship. Also, do retinues reinforce while on boats?

Retinues always reinforce at the same rate, which you set yourself using a not-slider. 100% reinforcement is 5% per month, 50% reinforcement is obviously 2.5% per month, and you can also set them to 0% reinforcement. Turning the rate down saves you money in the short-term.
