I've been playing dh for less than a year and half (I think) and there have been four patches. The devs are great. IMO, it keeps getting better.

I think DH is better than HOI 3.. Many players belive this.. So we have very good devs..

Oh for sure, just purchased it today. Have to say I am very impressed. I feel like I have got a ton of value from my purchase.

Patches are slow to come (Last one was April 2013) but they usually come packed with a lot of new features.

Pasha's right, and there is a new iteration in the works, but in this case the devs have indicated that it's likely to be more fixes than additions. For myself I'm very happy about that.

Supposedly, a patch would come at the end of this year. (will look for source post)

That option is moddable. I think it's in the misc. text. Not recommended for players who like to rename armies/fleets/air forces.
