...I can't hardly have reactionaries in power though... could I? Surely they'd roll back some of the better reforms. On a similar note, what *would* fascists do in power, when they arrive on the scene?

I just had 50% plus reactionaries in my upper house through event, admittedly this was really early in the game though. Yes, they will want to roll back reforms but it doesn't mean you have to do it. I just ignored them when I saw the hammer and waited for the next upper house election :) If I can, I simply ignore any reforms I don't want, no matter who is in charge. I agree with you though, Conservatism is my preferred choice too.

Liberals will always vote for political reforms and they will vote for social reforms if there is a high militancy.

Socialists will always vote for social reforms and for political reforms if there is high militancy.

Conservatives will vote for both if there is high militancy.

Reactionaries will vote for rolling back all reforms.

Thank you, very useful info. I didn't actually know that about the Liberals, I thought they simply didn't support social reforms in the game full stop.

Why should you tax your rich at maximum? Shouldn't they be taxed the least to stimulate more production of factories?

After a certain point in the game, profits are high enough that capital is no longer the bottleneck for factory building, but rather number of employees and worldwide demand. I suspect he is at that point.

Also, if I am not mistaken, unequal tax rates cause militancy after a certain point?

EDIT.
Fascists will always vote against any reform if they aren`t in power. If they are in power they will vote for every reform.
So actually, there's no 'status quo' party? It's all seems down to managing militancy and conc, I suppose.

As that post said, there's nothing about the tax rate in particular that causes increases in CON/MIL. It's about access to goods and spending power. A pop who can't buy their life needs will become more militant, and a pop who can buy all their luxury needs will become less militant and more concious. In either case, the amount you tax someone doesn't matter as long as they can still buy the things they want to.
