i dont know if this was the case in previous versions or not but in 1.08 paratroopers blocks retreat. even worse they annihilate any retreating army by prompt.

if you retreat from A to B and B is under airborne attack (but the province is not lost its still in your hand) there are two cases 1, if you ordered the retreat when you have org left the troops going to B get destroyed atm the airborne assault starts 2, when they retreated with no org left they "only" get destroyed when arrived.

this happens regardless of any other factors. 1 para can easily annihilate 100 full org inf set on vov, no matter.

i can descirbe in details with screenshots, if you wish and dont know about this bug already

Well spotted mcganyol; there is so much detail in this game. This outcome makes sense because others have previously mentioned that paratroopers making a drop are treated as though they are already defenders of the province, even though their enemy still holds the province. But case 1 should not have a worse outcome than case 2. Case 1 the retreating div is immediately alone attacking the paratrooper, but in case 2 the retreating division has no organisation available to make that immediate attack, so yes it is expected to remain on the map longer.

For case 1: perhaps there is a check to see if the attacking division has adequate supply to undertake the attack, and since the division is in retreat, it is out of supply, so its starts its attack on the paratrooper due to having the organisation to do so, but is immediately snuffed out.
