Welcome to the game of Werewolf. No other experience will twist your mind and force you to look into the deep recesses of your own soul like the anarchy and chaos of this game. All are welcome to join, but beware: that haunting melody of laughter you hear dancing on the wind can quickly turn into the ferocious growl of a beast from Hell.

(Yes, there are seventeen people in that picture. Count again.)

Werewolf Lite CCLXXVI: The Magnificent Seventeen

Near the U.S. border, a Mexican farmer village is repeatedly terrorized by an irritable yet incompetent bandit by the name of Reis. Driven to desperation, the villagers head to southern Texas to try and find someone - anyone - who can stop them. They come across a heroic gunslinger, the fastest in the West, named Marty, and beg for his protection. He couldn't be bothered, but he said he could find a few guys that might do it.

Marty rounded up a ragtag, misfit, motley crew, assorted bunch, group of 17 cowboys, who headed out across the Rio Grande into Mexican, ready to do battle with Reis. However, unbeknownst to them, there are traitors in their midst. This was deliberately done by Marty partly for lulz and partly because the plot required it.

Will you be able to root out the infiltrators in time to defeat the bandits? Or will you succumb to treachery, and fail the helpless farmers? Only time will tell.

Rules:

There shall be seventeen (17) players. Special Roles will be handed out after the last person signs up.

The game will then proceed to a Night deadline.

The game is divided into two periods - night and day. For practical reasons these two periods take place at the same time, from one update till the next.
Each day, all players gather and decide to lynch one of the players - the person they think is most likely to be infected. Each night, the aliens decide who to kill. In each 24 hour period, the group will lynch, and the aliens will hunt. The scientists can try to lynch multiple people by creating a glorious, Lemeard-approved, TIE, and the aliens can also decide not to hunt anyone at all at night.

Winning:

The wolves and warlock win if they manage to reach parity with the villagers.(Hybrid
does count for parity)
The cowboys win if they manage to kill all the wolves.(Hybrid
NOT counting)

Possible Player Roles:

Pilgrim (villager): The simplest role, a cowboy knows nothing for sure, but can use the power of his vote to help lynch others.

James Stewart Stock Character (Seer): Can use his homespun, simple wisdom to determine once per night if someone is a Cowboy, a John Wayne, a Turncoat, or a Lee Marvin.

Turncoat (Werewolf): A former pilgrim who has been corrupted. Each night, the wolves hunt a player.

Lee Marvin (Warlock): An alien sympathizer, as his father was one, each night, he can block any other player from using a special role. If he chooses to block the James Stewart or the John Wayne, they cannot scan / protect that night. He does not know the identity of the wolves at the start. His powers will not block the wolves from hunting (unless he blocks the last one standing), in case he accidentally targets one of them. - Lee Marvin DOES count for parity, (he's Lee ******ing Marvin for Christ's sake) but cannot win alone.

John Wayne (Guardian Angel): The only cowboy to have brought a Winchester Rifle with him. Each night, the guardian angel can choose to protect a pilgrim from an wolf attack. He cannot protect the same pilgrim two nights in a row and he cannot protect himself.

Possible Role Set-ups: These are the possible ways roles will be distributed. I will randomly select one set-up; each possibility has an equal chance of being chosen. Once the set-up is determined, it will stay that way throughout the entire game.

Roleplaying:

For the purposes of this game, players are
very strongly encouraged to role-play according to the theme. Then again, you're cowboys. You're the baddest mother******s in the western frontier. I'm just some two-bit GM. What y'all doin' takin' orders from me?

The Deadline:

DEADLINE FOR VOTES AND OTHER STUFF IS 21:00 GMT

A vote posted at 20:59 will count. One posted at 21:00 will NOT!
Voting Ends At Deadline Even If Game Moderator Is Not Present!
(Unless stated otherwise by GM)

Other Rules:

§1A. - You sign up to the game by requesting so in a post in this thread.
§1B. - No new players will be admitted after the game has started, EXCEPT if substituting for another player.
§1C. - You may at any time be substituted out by requesting so in the thread.
§1D. - Players are responsible for any Private Messages (PMs) missed due to inbox being full.

§2. - Orders and votes submitted after deadline are ignored.

§3A. – Players will vote daily. Should they not vote, THEY WILL BE REPLACED. There will be no exceptions unless the Game Moderator states otherwise.
§3B. – Invalid votes (Voting for Game Moderator/Ghosts) will not be accepted.
§3C. – In the event of a TIE, ALL TIED players will be executed.
§3D. - The player(s) with the majority of votes at deadline is considered dead. He will not reveal any inside information after the deadline.

§4A. - SPECTATORS AND GHOSTS MAY HAUNT, TAUNT AND FLAUNT, BUT NEVER SUGGEST ANY COURSE OF ACTION OR REVEAL ANY INFORMATION. ANY ACTION WHICH CAN AFFECT TO THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME IS FORBIDDEN. ANYONE CAUGHT DOING IT WILL BE *PERMANENTLY* BANNED FROM PARTICIPATION. NO EXCUSES ARE VALID.
§4B. - When doing ghost/spectator commentary, please use a non-white colour.

§5. - Alliances and Feuds which aren't based on your characters or roles in the game between players are forbidden. Alliances and Feuds which continue from one game to another undermine the whole idea of the game.

§7A. – Forging PMs is allowed. Screenshots of PMs is not.
§7B. - Posting or quoting of PMs from the GM is not allowed - real or forged.

§8. – Voting must be done in the following way. Write "VOTE" and the person you are voting for in size 4 bold text. For example:

VOTE EUROO7

If you wish to un-vote someone, write "UNVOTE":

UNVOTE EUROO7, VOTE EUROO8

Any other type of voting will not be counted and will make you eligible for subbing. In case of re-voting without un-voting the original vote will be the counted vote. DO NOT EDIT VOTES AFTER POSTING THEM.

§9. - The GM can and will remove players if the GM believes the player is not participating at his/her full capacity. This will be done through the use of killing the player's role, or using substitutes, if they are available. All such decisions are made solely at the discretion of the GM. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE GAME IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE.

§10A. – Trust no one. Especially not the GM.
§10B. - Always Trust the GM.

This is a western, but not a spaghetti one.

Also, for the interests of immersion it'd be nice if everyone picked an RP character like EURO here has done.

Very good.

I see many old hands, I sew new blood.

In the words of vLN, the wolves had better stay away from us vets, lest this whole game descend into chaos. :shifty eyes:

Also,

I'll eat you tonight, Split.

This game is split entirely between noobs and vets. Kiwi, whilst still a noob, is probably the closest to the mean here.

Seems like this'll be an enjoyable game. Would love to join but I still don't have internet access except for some 3G on my phone so yeah... Next one maybe, or the one after it.

Well anyway, enjoy this game everyone and have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Also seems like I'm no longer the newerst WW player... Don't know if that's good or bad...
