So i am nearing the enddate and i have yet to see a war ,titled The great war.
I am playing as Germany and have just fought of France for humiliation. It was called the honor war...

You receive a popup that says that great wars are available. After you've received that, any war with more than two GPs is considered great, I think. Your war, presumably 1v1 with France (spherelings and satellites aside), was thus not a great war.

Were there any other Great Powers involved in your war? If it was just Russia vs France without any other Great Power intervention, then it's not a Great War.

The really odd thing about the invention of Great Wars in 1900 or so is that the first war widely known as "The Great War" finished in 1814.

Precisely. GP Russia and GP Germany vs. GP France isn't a Great War, it requires at least one more GP on France's side.
