I have a group that I play Paradox games with, and we are just getting into MotE.
I've tried to gather as much information I can from the AARs and other threads, but can't find a definitive answer.

What are some solid, balanced teams?
ex: Britain + Spain VS France + Austria VS Russia + Prussia + Ottomans

Just an example, I have no idea what would work out to an exciting game.
Anywhere from 4-9 players
Thanks!

I found that just by default Prussia/France tend to drift as well as Spain while Austria Russia England also make a formidable foe. obviously alliances shift depending on who wants to win the game and how they want to do it.

It depends how many nations are played by humans, but from my observations:
SPA + FRA , or
RUS + TUR + SWE, and total war:
PRU + AUS + RUS + SWE + ENG vs FRA + SPA

Awesome! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Would the UK fit in anywhere there, or are they essentially useless because of the low MP?

I think GB is essential for defeating any enemy(mostly France)
1. Almost unbeatable navy + Gibraltar
2. 383k starting manpower (after disbaning all armies) + 62k yearly = more than Sweden + Prussia together
3. Option to transport all troops in any place they want - espiecially effective hit and run tactics, or unload russian troops in Spain:)
4. Even if they don't have such big army like France, or Russia - they can easily store as many manpower is possible and attack damaged France arround 1810-12.
700k army in 1810 is really big force.

And I think FRA + GB in one team mean total destruction of any enemy - total domination in land , and sea. I saw many times in MP games, after players discovered " secret alliance" between them, they just resign...
