i advice you to play the first King Arthur before the second. For multiple reason. First one would be that KAII is still kind of broken...

Broken in which way? I finished and loved KAI. Sure, campaign AI is good at nothing, but the battles are just simply awesome. Battle AI is basic, yet good at what it's doing overall. I just love the strategical depth. So, I was considering getting KAII...
 
you won't. KA2 is made in such a way that it does not require having played KA1. Which is standard in gaming these days - rely on sequels (sequels are less risky than originals) but make sure that anyone can "hop in" at any point in the franchise life cycle. Sure, KA1 makes the experience more "complete" but it is vital only to completionists.
