SRCW has been on my radar for a while now, just now about to take the plunge! Looks great.
One think I'm wondering. I don't see a window to track major current events - say "USA initiates arms embargo on Egypt" or "North Vietnam conquers Saigon region" or even just stuff like "UK & France sign trade agreement". From what little I've read & played to track any of these developments that you're not directly involved in, you've got to zoom out and manually scan the globe.
Yet this is info that would be gleaned from the front page of any newspaper. One of my favorite things in grand sandbox games is to play a small regional power and focus on those affairs, but also enjoy watching the world around me interact. As it stands all I'm seeing is a very narrow view if you play a small country, it's very hard to track the rest of the globe. Am I missing a setting or window here?
And my last question - does the USA/USSR campaign have content different than the sandbox mode? Obviously the experience of leading a superpower is a much more involved affair, but is there other stuff that sets it apart from playing those same nations in sandbox?
Thanks.
