((I would really appreciate it if someone was to point out where exactly I could read more about this so-called Equality Act. Thanks.))
The Equality Act

I: After the Civil War, an imbalance was made with the ministries of the state. This imbalance has destroyed the very meaning of these ministries, and thus, this proposal advocated for the destruction of the Minister of Flanders, the Minister of Brussels, and the Minister of Wallonia.

II: The Special Powers and jobs of the ministers shall be rolled into the Minister of Interior, and the Prime Minister, since their effectiveness has now been devolved and they are now something that divides the country rather then unifying it.
((Here it is.))

((Andre Massena, you might wanna edit your voting ballot, as far as I can see you accidently voted aye on the intervention against Bolshevism act :p))

Constitutional Incorporation Amendment: Yes
Intervention Against Bolshevism: No
Colonial Representation Bill: Aye
French Integration Act I: Abstain
Wallonia Reparation Act: No
Walloon Anti-Militia Act: Yes
Unity of Belgium Act: No
Equality Act: No

[BSU]

I shall be running leadership of the Belgian Social Union
, it's time to take a pacifist course after this devastating war, my platform is:

Full Citizenship/State Capitalism/Protectionism/pacifism/secularism

- Kristina van den Berg

I shall run for the leadership of the LDP and for the Ministry of Wallonia

Constitutional Incorporation Amendment: Yes
Intervention Against Bolshevism: No
Colonial Representation Bill: Yes
French Integration Act I: No
Wallonia Reparation Act: Yes
Walloon Anti-Militia Act: Yes
Unity of Belgium Act: No
Equality Act: No

((LDP))

I shall be running on a platform of rebuilding after this devastating war and bringing peace and stability to this ravaged land. While I do not agree with Communism I do not believe we must ignore the creeping menace of fascism either, and I do not wish to see us embark on another Great War because of either ideology. I do not normally believe in a large stake for the state in the economy but I believe the times warrant it. ((Platform: Full Citizenship/State Capitalism/Free Trade/Pacifism/Secularism))

Constitutional Incorporation Amendment: Yes
Intervention Against Bolshevism: No
Colonial Representation Bill: Yes
French Integration Act I: Yes
Wallonia Reparation Act: Yes
Walloon Anti-Militia Act: Yes((although I think it is defunct)
Unity of Belgium Act: Abstain
Equality Act: No

[SDP]

I also propose a "Dutch Acceptance act" which entails as follows:
Dutch Acceptance act
All citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands can claim Belgian Citizenship by either renouncing their Dutch citizenship or residing in the states of Wallonia, Flanders or Brussels for 6 months, any Dutch citizen now has the rights to reside in Belgium, but not claim benefits provided by the state. ((IG add Dutch Accepted culture))

Jean di Picardie, minister of Wallonia and Deputy of Artois.

Constitutional Incorporation Amendment: Yes
Intervention Against Bolshevism: No
Colonial Representation Bill: Abstain
- I do not oppose the sentiment, but I believe that this proposal needs a more detailed constitutional basis before it is adopted by this Parliament.
French Integration Act I: Yes
Wallonia Reparation Act: Abstain
Walloon Anti-Militia Act: Abstain
Unity of Belgium Act: No
- While I agree that this constitutional imbalance needs to be addressed, I do not believe this unilateral removal of these powers will provide meaningful and stable consitutional change.
Equality Act: No

[Liberal Democratic]

I would also like to announce my candidacy for the leadership of the Liberal Democratic Party. We are a beakon of liberty and peace in Europe, but we must not shirk away from leading the way. We must push for true equality under the law for all, such as making the voting ages for women the same as for men. We must lead negotiations for the foundation of an international body to mediate conflict and prevent war in a continent tired of conflict. We must strive to welcome those who find themselves as Belgian citizens and give them a say in their government as we afford other Belgians in theirs. We must, in short, continue to provide a strong, Liberal foundation for this society and not abandon our principles depite the chaos around us.

My prospective platform is as follows: Full Citizenship / Interventionism / Free Trade / Pacifism / Secularism

~ Adélaïde, Duchess of Benin

((TH, should we be voting on this?))

((Oh, probably. I'll get it at the next update.))

((TH, if we do ratify the full charter (once I post it,) will you handle the responses of the other major powers?))

((Sure.))

((Actually I was just bothering other people to support the idea IC.))

((Alright, my mistake.))

((Here it is.))

((Thanks.))

((The Acts with Walloon or Wallonian in them are intended for Wallonia ONLY, just to clarify. Although the Walloon Anti-militia act is defunct.))

((Okay, well, then consider them withdrawn for this cycle and we'll pick them up as Wallonia-only acts next cycle.))

Constitutional Incorporation Amendment: Yes

Walloon Anti-Militia Act: No This is madnes they are helping not the other way around.

[BNF]

I wish to run for leader of the Belgian National Front! I deserve it. The fascist needs a strong young hand to guide them and I will get rid of reactionary ideas in fascism and help the belgian people. We need Corporativism, to get rid of coruption and a militia to deal with rebels. I would not betray our cause. long live Belgium!

My platform is: Pluralism/Jingoism/Sate capitalism/Limited Citizenship/Protectionism

((Thanks for point that out. That would be quite difficult to explain ))

Constitutional Incorporation Amendment: Aye
Intervention Against Bolshevism: No - Whatever the merits or lack thereof, we are in no condition to go off on a military adventure in Russia so soon after the war.
Colonial Representation Bill: Aye
French Integration Act I: Abstain - I applaud the Act's intentions, but quite frankly think a much more robust legislative framework is needed to ensure it is implemented properly.
Unity of Belgium Act: Abstain
Equality Act: Abstain

I believe the merit behind the acts, particularly the Unity of Belgium Act, is sound, but we need a constitutional convention to deal with these matters, not stopgap measures.

[NDP]

((My platform for the primaries will be Laissez-faire/Secularism/Full Citizenship/Anti-military/Free Trade.))

((At this rate, it looks like every single member of the BNF will be running for leadership. Please actually make that happen. It would be hilarious.))

Vigor_Brown,_1910.jpg
Name: Count Samuel Wilhelm Marcu Vanderhoof of Ghent, 2nd Marquess of Vanderhoof ; Pseudonyms: Sam V., de Graaf
Date of Birth: February 9th, 1879 - May 8th, 1940 (61)
Hometown: Ghent, Flanders, Belgium
Ethnicity: Belgio-Romanian
Religion Catholic
Background: Born as the first and only son to long time politician Andrei P. Vanderhoof, Samuel was privately taught by Vanderhoof during his many years as Minister of Flanders. Under his tutelage he was taught much about how the world works, specialising in economics and geography. Samuel was instilled with a desire to be successful and earn money, lots and lots of money. Following his father's retirement from politics, Samuel worked hard at his father's long forgotten company to ensure that it stayed profitable and running through the war. Indeed he was one of the first in all of Belgium to advocate the use of women in replacement for men in the workplace, seeing a cheap and easy worker in which to use. His work got him promoted to Chief Operating Officer of NFG.

With this accomplished, Samuel turns his eyes to Belgian politics, notably local politics. For if he didn't defend capitalists and the economy, who would? In 1907, during the splurge of anti-Socialist violence, Samuel took the time to acquire fully the Ghent Daily, in order to properly record the mayhem in Belgium. He was elected Minister of Flanders in 1909 and again in 1911.

During the Belgian Civil War Vanderhoof was captured while remaining in the capital (true to Vanderhoovian form) and held by the fascists for the duration of the conflict, and was let go when the fascists fled to Africa.

When the ideals of a Republic were passed around the table following the Civil War, Samuel agreed to allow the Republic of Belgium to form as long as the Flemish Concessions were retained. Unfortunately for Samuel, while the NDP agreed to his conditions wholeheartedly, the BSU on the other hand had more devious intentions. When the issue of the Flemish Concessions came up, the BSU denied any promise and cut all the concessions out of the new constitution. Infuriated and betrayed, Samuel (already holding a very Vanderhoovish dislike of socialists) declared that he will not return to Parliament until the Concessions were restored.

Over time Vanderhoof, under the name Sam V. or De Graaf, became a noted political satirist and writer, notably criticising the Belgian Government during the Dupointe, the van Prinsterer and the Fontaine Governments as well as the 1921 and 1926 elections. However the incompetence of the Fontaine and d'Ursel administrations convinced Vanderhoof that he was needed in parliament, forgoing his promise to not return and once again be elected via b(u)y elections within Ghent,

Competitions

Military Shield:
Contested each year by the football clubs of our military's two branches – Antwerpen Royal Navy and Bruxelles Royal Army – the Military Shield is Belgium's oldest competition, first played in 1874. Matches are often closely fought and very competitive, with each side looking to win bragging rights over the other.

Challenge Cup:
Founded in 1886 by Jacques Dieric, Jean-Luc Poisson, 2nd Duke of Benin and Sir Jean-Camille Van der Wyngaert, 12th Viscount of Sint-Niklaas, the Challenge Cup is contested on a yearly basis by all member clubs of the FA.

Duke of Benin Cup:
Awarded to the highest scoring player in that season's Challenge Cup.

Chairman's Cup
Awarded to a player for exceptional sporting conduct throughout the Challenge Cup.

Football League
Inspired by the English Football League founded in 1888, the Belgian Football League was founded in 1890. An initial group of 16 teams compete (those who had played in that season's Challenge Cup,) playing a total of 30 matches across the season. A second division was added in 1896.

Britano-Belgian Cup
Set up in 1891 in an effort to further the development of international football, the Britano-Belgian Cup is a biennial round robin tournament that sees the Belgian national team face the British Home Nations' respective teams – i.e. England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The first competition was held in Britain in 1892.

The Belgian Football League Championship
Report upon the outcome of the 1907-08 Season

The Committee encloses the results of the 1907-08 Season of the Belgian Football League. We would like to thank all 32 teams, who agreed to rejoin the League after its 5 year absence. The congratulations of the committee go to our new champions, Antwerp-Zurenborg FC and SU Bruxelloise, who are now the first team to successfully defend the Championship (though the committee notes not technically in consecutive years). We also congratulate Brussels-Schaerbeek AA on their promotion. Our commiserations go to the two relegated teams, Nivelles St. Gertrude and Liège United FC.

The Honourable Louis de Lannoy

It was a cool day in Ghent, as men went about their business. Samuel had seen these men during the war, and saw the death in their eyes. The death of their compatriots, of their family and of their dreams. But today he had seen enough, talking to one of his workers, he gathered a small crowd and started speaking, a crowd that got ever bigger in size during his speech.

"Today we see an average day! Is that right? The milling and turning of boring monotonous life, where nothing holds a spark. Over there we see the forgotten, the malused and destroyed. What does a man have left, having lost his jaw to the Bavarians? What does a man have left when his right food is still in Picardie, or Kaiserlauten, or any other innumerable battlefield mount where our dead, the Belgian dead, the Flemish dead, lie? Shall we continue to live our life in such meaningless abandon, abandoned by our hopes, dreams and wishes? Is that what a Belgian is now, another meaningless ant crawling through the hill of our lives? Have we truly become the Lost Generation, or shall we become something bigger than that, something better?

I say we shall, reject the listlessness that has come upon us! Reject the violence spreading to our every faucet of life, hoping to kill more of our bright and our young. Today we shall embark on a truly wondrous expedition of rejuvenation. Let us bring Flanders into a new and bright future, away from the pain and death of the past. Let us work towards anything, work towards everything, in order to better ourselves. Remember not to be selfish, as we must think for our children.

Let us move past the war and the violence and embrace the Belgian Spirit. The one which has our young men go to the rubber plantations of Belgium in order to explore and expand our capacity for production. The one which can have a young 25 year old man become the COO of a major Flemish company through hard work and determination. The one where even the poorest and most humble can rise up and dine with the king in the splendor of his Palace. Let us aim for that, let us seize the day and fight back for our spirits. Let us show that we are the new economic heart of Belgium, of Europe and the World. That we will better ourselves, despite the infighting of our southern bretheran.

Let us take heart and soar under the wings of Peace, Prosperity and the Pursuit of Happiness. Let us become what our fathers wanted and our children deserve.

Vote for me as Minister of Flanders, and vote for a new dawn."

As Samuel stepped down, he felt refreshed. Today was indeed a new day, for him and mayhaps even for Flanders.
