1. The Speech
January, 1933 - It's 7 am and the sun shines through the gray clouds that seem to announce rain or even snow, who knows ... Overhead, goes a bird ... Imposing, determined and master of himself. Now it's time to bet: Is that an eagle? A griffin? A single seagull? No. .. this bird is different, in It's body rather than feathers It has metal and it doesnt have normal wings, intead, It has a motor one of the great inventions of man, that continues to fascinate children and adults. This bird is a plane of the Royal Canadian Air Force and this is a routine patrol flight.
Near that site is the airbase Nº1, the headquarters of the Canadian Air Forces Command and the largest air base in the country. On that base works hundreds of people from the city of Vancouver and the surrounding villages, however, by that time, the available airpower was summed up in a small stale air squadron that was significantly weaker than the air force of most European countries and the American neighbors.
Aerial view to the airbase Nº1 - Vancouver
But that was about to change... when the President was visiting the base, He made an amazing speech:
"We are here today staring to our fucture action center. Are you asking yourselves why? The answer is simple ... We are commited to make Canada a great power of the air. Only with this effort its possible to protect our country, help our allies , and draw our flag in the clouds. The sky shall be ours. "
