Well, if you don't want too spend to much time reading this wall of text, and has always been an explorator more than a reader, here is a summary. Quite usefull, I think.
Well, all of that is far from being finished, so this introduction is very temporary.
What I intend here is to collect all proper names, for every culture. This includes geographical names, as well as characters' names and surnames.
I also did a better French translation of the game, and used it to improve the translations of Greek and Arabic names and terms within the event (zinâ instead of zina, titles of the books quoted within the events and so on). And the same for most of Arabic and Greek dynasties. So, quite a few things I'll have to post here...
I did quite a lot of work before the patch 1.092, but this one took me by surprize, so I had to delay this thread, and decided to do all of this from scratch again.
All of this is intended to make a mod--after TOG has been released--adapted to vanilla. But don't hesitate to use it for your own mods if you want. There should be ONE with accented letters, and ONE with unaccented letters.
Another thing that would help a lot: I understand nearly nothing to the languages I used here. If you have suggestions or see faults, don't hesitate to post here!
So, for now: every cultural names for each empire and kingdom in the game, for all the languages I could read on Wikipedia (so Russian and Bulgarian thanks to the translitteration pages, but neither Persian nor Arabic...). When I spoke of faults and suggestions...
P.S. : There are a few question that may be asked the languages, so I'll try to explain here what I intend to do:
1) I believe it may be interesting to give the Latin names, in the case TOG make appear a Latin culture, of for the sake of knowledge. Dunno if this will be very usefull.
2) Some languages are completed with quite strange codes, For example #sco.scot.
This means 'Scots', being usable for everybody interested by that. This will be usefull for such cases as Cornwall: instead of Welsh names, you may prefer to have Cornish names for the counties and baronies in Cornwall, even if this is considered in game as being Welsh culture.
3) Icelandic has been included: this intent is linked to the two above. TOG will have a Norse culture, and it will be quite difficult to find names such countries as Mali for them. So, Icelandic being what's the nearest of Norse, from what I read... Well, may be usefull, no?
