With my first AAR (Castille) nearing its end, I want to start a new one but I'm stuck on what nation to do. I'm an average player and I picked the nations I feel I can handle. I'll be using 9.3v of Death and Taxes. Below will be the nation and the short-term goals.

Intro to AAR and Table of Contents

1. Portugal

portugalut.png

Get on Castille's good side, expand if possible and colonize everywhere!

2. Poland

polandvn.png

Form Jagiellonion Nation (core in Mazovia, Vilna, Pecs, Bohemia)

3. Timurids

timurids.png

Form the Mughal Empire (30 cores in Mughal Empire region, core in Delhi, ruler with at least 6 military stats)

4. Sri Vijaya

srivijaya.png

Convert to Sunni (have a province with Sunni Religion, 2 active merchants), Form Mallaca (Own Malacca, not a vassal, after 1402)

5. Hosokawa

Form Japan (control all of Japan)

I know this list is short so I'm willing to take up 2 more suggestions (please don't suggest a really tough nation :p). The voting will end in a week. If you have any questions regarding any of the above nations, feel free to ask.

Timurids please.

Could you please do an aar as Mewar (in India.) Simply because nobody has done it before and it will be quite a challenge.

The reason I didn't pick any Indian nations for the upcoming aar was that I'm already doing Bengal. If I do pick Mewar in the near future, it will be the 1399 start because there's just no chance of survival with the 1356 start (Delhi is too close and too powerful).

Play as the Japanese minor, but go beyond merely forming Japan, and try to conquer Europe, just for the sake of reverse imperialism.

Don't worry, forming Japan is just a short-term goal. I will be paying Europe a visit :p.

I would love to see the Timurids revitalize the Mongol Empire, or at least their own Empire. Another great storm against Eastern Europe. I vote for them, make Timur proud.

A minor update, I recalled something regarding forming Mongol Empire in the Death and Taxes forum. I used console and apparently cannot form Mongol Empire. Therefore, I'll be aiming for the much tougher Mughal Empire.

Looks like that's it. I take the lack of activities in this thread that people who wanted to vote have done so and rest abstained from voting. From the votes, it looks like I'll be doing the Timurids. Hope you'll enjoy!

We now begin with the Timurids still in their infancy (according to wiki, the dynasty began in 1370 :p) . I played through twice before and I find it very tough and lost pretty badly:(. I hope this time will be different since I've gotten lucky with the games I wrote AARs on .

Difficulty: Easy
Lucky nations: Random
AI aggressiveness: Low
All other settings: default
Start year: January 10, 1356
Mod: Death and Taxes v9.3

My goals will be split into two parts:

Part 1 - Forming the Mughal Empire
-regain all my cores
-get vassals to take land I have no cores and not in the Mughal Empire region
-control Mughal Empire region and wait for cores

Part 2 - Taking on the World
-challenge everyone else for control of Asia
-westernise
-do whatever I want

Rules:
-Expand without going infamy limit
-1 alliance only (excluding vassals and personal unions)
-no forced personal union (only ones through royal marriage allowed)
-no cheating (including no reloading)
-will only cancel missions if they are impossible
-did a little modification (crusades will only be 25% infamy and cleansing of heretics will only be 50% infamy)

I meant the Mongol Empire. Timur the Lame wanted to restore the Mongol empire but, since we cannot restore it in this MOD, we will have to make do with the Mughal Empire.

Oh,ok :D

Just a minor update. I've tried 5 games with Timurids at normal difficulty and I did very, very badly :(. In order to give myself a chance, I decided to change a few thing:

-the difficulty changed to easy
-AI aggressiveness to low
-One alliance only excluding vassals and personal unions
-No forced personal unions
