From now on, this mod is officially dead.

Since the arrive of 1.04 I tried to update and add new features to it, but I experienced technical problems and really run out of time, so I'm giving up on all this stuff.

Anyone that is interested in take it on, or take parts of it, can feel free to do so.

  2. NOTICE THAT:
    • The mod is compatible with 1.03 RC3. There's no support for previous versions.
    • The mod is in the "beta" stage. I played some tests around and didn't find any issues. All looks working fine, but there are so many options to go with that I couldn't try all possible paths to follow. So, if something wrong happens, please, report it back.
    • I had to edit some aspect of the mods that I mixed together, for compatibility purposes and also for personal taste as well. ;)
    • I'm very limited in graphic editing/design, but I added some small improvements, like new transparent counters and load screens.
  3. INSTALLATION
    • I strongly recomend you to make a copy of the Darkest Hour Full folder, then rename it to something like: Darkest Hour Mixed.
    • Unzip the content of the ZIP file into that Mod folder, overwriting the original files with the new content.
      - Please, make sure you don't unzip the content in the main DH directory!
    • Play, selecting the proper mod version in the game launcher.

  5. CHANGELOG FROM BETA 9
    • Already done
      - Fixed a Panzer Lehr model that was lacking.
      - Added new ministers and leaders for Arab Federation thanks Xie.
      - Added Poland and Ukraine in the list of countries that Germany (GER) can liberate (due the Democratic Germany possibility).
      - Removed the Germany (GER) fascist intrinsic government type (due the same reason that above).
      - Changed the 3 options for the "hoi_counter_strip" file. After installation, look into the folder where you installed Mixed Mod/gfx/map and you'll find them. Just delete/rename the files at your will. The content is:
      - - hoi_counter_strip.bmp = Darkest Hour vanilla style, with the additions of the new units.
      - - hoi_counter_strip 2.bmp = Mixed Mod style, but without transparency.
      - - hoi_counter_strip 3.bmp = Mixed Mod style, transparent counters.
      - Small tweaks over here and there.

PS.: For Brazilians: ;)
- Added some historical unit names;
- Added new personalities for Getúlio Vargas;
- Corrected some unit names (i.e: now it's "Esquadra" instead of "Flotilla");
- You can build up Brasília;
- Your major ally might build up an airbase in Natal;
- Choosing the custom flag as Paternal Authocrat, you will be able to stablish a new monarchy in Brazil;
- If you loose the south territories to a foreign country, you might see the creation of the República Riograndense.
- All presidencial changes from the Era Vargas 'till 1964 (including the suicide of Vargas, the resignation of Jango and options to elect other presidents).

It works kinda the vanilla's "Invest in National Research" decision. But I've to tell you... it's expensive.
 
This is quite epic and can't wait for the workday to be over so I can download. ;)

I've tried to merge some of the minor mods in the past without much success...but I'm starting to learn that it has to do more with merging the events.txt files.
 
Did you do any with the units? I found myself having a lot of problems fighting Norway. I just can't seem to get Navrak. I'm using 3 Mtn divs without brigades and 2 inf divs with brigades.

Also for some reason the game CTD's while playing. I don't know what's causing it as it just happens with no warning.

No, I didn't change anything about units, but the name of some divisions in the file "unitnames.csv" into the folder "db" that was already part of the Communist Germany Mod. Try to check out the "savedebug.txt" file into the main DH folder. It might say what's going wrong in the last lines.

Finally got some off work time, and tried this mod. I said it seemed epic, and, well...IT IS EPIC! Ive been playing 1933-1939 with Germany, trying a democratic game (more on this later) and I have not encountered any major problem. I congratulate you, Arcanjo, this seems a great job. Ill make some critic with the pros and cons (very few) Ive encountered to help od development:

- PROS:

1. As Ive said, this mod is great. It adds a lot of depth to the game (as you can plan your mobilization events to match with election/worldcup/olympic ones that reduce dissent), and, of course, a lot of flavour. No longer prewar games are just a factory/units building race, now it seems the game is alive...as if you were actually living in that country.

2. Seven techteams; I know others mods, and even DHFull offer this possibility, but I love it when it happens.

3. Very nice events and decision texts: not only you feel in the game, but you enjoy reading the new decision or events descriptions. I dont know if it is your work or it was made by the premodders, but anyways it is enjoyable.

4. New type for Getulio Vargas...I was always amazed how this man managed to be in nice terms with almost anyone, and u reflected it in his minister type,hehe.

- CONS: They are little things that i didnt like, but dont make me wrong: it is a very good and solid mod, and this are only minor aspects:

1. I dont like the new counters. I know you probably worked hard on them, but I kinda didnt get used to them, and it also was a little difficult to click on them. Perhaps it is just a matter of personal taste but, please, and dont get offence, could you tell me how to use the vainilla ones?

2. Changeflags: It is a nice addition and works very well, but once you change your flag, you cannot revert that change (the decision doesnt reappear). I remember from Communist mod that this was possible, so maybe, IMO, it would be a nice addition. Also, some information on the decision text on the flag you are about to create would be great (eg: "preweimar black and red flag" instead of "socialiberal flag").

3. I have a little issue with the Anchluss. I chose a democratic path with Germany in 1933. In 1938, i annexed Austria via an automatic triggered event, bt not the "usual" one, I think. Later on, I could not launch the decision "Anchluss officially proclaimed" as I could not fulfill the Seyss-Inquart/war/alliance condition. However, i launched via console the event 2003009 and it was solved without any problems.

-MY GAME:

As ive said, Ive only played for some hours but Ive quite enjoyed this mod. To try something different, I started a democratic Germany path, trying to play a very unusual game. I will try to behave like a "true" liberal democracy, trying to expand via alliances and intelligence actions. I wont declare war on Poland although Ill try to coup them when the time comes. However, I dont discard declaring war to the USSR in the future, although with a demo Germany it seems very difficult to me...but in a RPG view, it would be nice as a crusade against the only non-democratic power in Europe.

Its 1939 now, and Greece, Romania and Hungary are now part of the Democratic Axis, also known as Mittleeuropa ;). The german Foreign Minister Wirth plans expanding this alliance to Bulgaria, Italy and even Persia. Also, our master spy Gessler dreams on turning Poland and China into loyal allies someday. Here is a little screeshot of the D.Axis in 1939:

Hey AZ I have a little feedback for you also. I have played two games as Germany to summer 1939 and May 1940. The first one I did not even click on the Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement. I just dowed Poland early to see what would happen. The Sovs dowed me anyway as I was trying to put down the Allies in the west. So I started a new game which is going well. I did not dow Poland, Yugoslavia instead. The darn Allies just dowed me anyway as I was trying to finish off Rumania who have about 40 divisions. The game is working well with no ctds and I am very familiar with the Demo/Commie Germany mods so I have a pretty good feel for how things should go. So I think you did a great job integrating all those mods. The Grand Campaign is trying to do something similar but they are really big mods and it is not easy. If I had only one little request it would be to be able to start Germany as a monarchy. No big but please give it a thought. Great job,

Tks for feedback, Nachopontmercy. Some of the odds and adds are from mods that I've integrated. For Dem Ger, all the texts aren't mine. I'll taking your suggestions in account for future changes I'll do to the mod. Just some considerations.
About the Anchluss, I think the Dem Ger Mod works exactly that way, I don't know really though. I'll giving a look.
About the Changeflags it's WAD to avoyd AI to changing flags all over the time, but it might be solved for human player. The only issue that will be difficult is to describe as the flag looks like, it won't be possible, unfortunatelly.
About the counters, make the following: delete the files "...\gfx\interface\select_counter.bmp" and "...\gfx\map\hoi_counter_strip.bmp" and you'll revert to vanilla ones. :)
ps.: it looks like a great game as Dem Ger.

Tks, Delanonne. I'll think of what I can do about monarchy, but I know that's already a path to it when you choose the Dem Ger. I think it's linked to the Zentrum, but I'm not sure now.
 
Oh,and Have one thing,can I recreate the Brazilian Empire?Kingdom is too weird. :unsure:
