Twenty Thousand Leagues Over the Sea

It is the 21st December, in the year 2075. You are the crew of the new and cutting-edge stealth spaceship LSS Submarine, sent out by the League of Nations to search for coal in a nearby solar system, on the planet of Mnemosyne. Your surveys however, show that no valuable resources can be gathered, but shortly after the survey crews return to the ship, strange things start happening on the LSS Submarine. Reports of people being attacked by horrible creatures, whose appearances are but mere mockeries of a human, come in from all over the ship. Communication is lost with several sections, and a strange organic growth starts appearing all over.

It is now thirteen hours after the initial happenings. The crew has been decimated, and the ship itself is in bad shape. The strange mutant creatures roam free all over, and the organic growths cover vast areas of the ship. It is in this situation that you and the survivors of the initial chaos struggle to survive. However, many have designs of their own, and some are not entirely sane either...

Players: 15/15
Occupations:
1/1 Captain
3/3 Security
5 Engineers
6 Officers

The Game

This is Twenty Thousand Leagues Over the Sea. You are one of the surviving crew of the LSS Submarine. To join the game, you simply fill in the following character sheet to apply (with the exception of Items and Status):

Name:
Occupation:
Background:
Location:
Status:
Items:

The following occupations are available: Engineer, Officer, Captain, and Security
However, there can only be one Captain. Also, there can only be three Security. Due to this, you have to ask for approval to be any of these occupations, especially for Captain.

These different occupations have different skills and equipment, and they also have access to different areas. In order to gain access to areas that other occupations can access, you either have to be let in by them, or use their ID card (which you can gain in a variety of different ways...).
The following is a list of the areas that are only accessible to a specific occupation. However, do note that the Captain can access all other areas as well.

Engineer Access: Control Room
Officer Access: Officers Quarters, Computer Core
Security Access: Computer Core, Security Station
Captain Access: Shuttle Bay

Now, the point of the game: Each player is given a secret goal that they must fulfil. This goal is secret, and therefore you cannot reveal it. The point is to fulfil your goal. After you have done so, well, you can continue playing if you want to. If you choose to continue playing, you will receive a new goal.

The following list lists the decks and areas of the LSS Submarine. First is the name of the deck, and after that the name of the areas of the deck.

Crew Deck - Officers Quarters, Crew Quarters, Zero-G Cricket, Mess Hall, Shuttle Bay, Zero-G Golf
Engineering Deck - Engine Room, Fuel Storage, Control Room, Outside Access
Medical Deck - Security Station, Clinic, Research Wing, Zero-G Therapy, Cryogenics Lab
Hydroponics Deck - Wintergarden, Food Storage, Atmosphere Control, Hydroponics Control, Air Filtration, Refrigeration, Growth Chamber,
Sight Deck - Bridge, Atrium, Communications, Outside Access
Cargo and Weapons Deck - Brig, Cargohold, Computer Core, Torpedo Launchers, Missile Storage, Outside Access
Outside - Defence Turrets, Fuel Injection, Tanning Deck, Inside Access

Some of these areas might not be self-explanatory, so here follows a short summary of the stuff that is not self-explanatory:

The Security Station also functions as an armoury, and contains military-grade weapons and explosives.

Outside/Inside Access are mostly just small airlock rooms that leads to the Outside or the Inside of the ship.

The Control Room on the Engineering Deck is the Control Room for the Engines and related systems.

The Turns

This game is a turn-based one. Essentially it works like this: a player either makes a public statement or sends a private message to the GM (me) each turn detailing what they will do. If public, the statement must be bolded. The action, as it is described to the GM, must be as short and concise as it can be. Too long and it might get ignored.

Every turn is ended with a turn end post detailing the fallout of your actions. Changes in the status or items of a character will be bolded.

GM: Dyranum
Flavour & Lore GM: Tyriet

As a last note, please don't harass GMs.

Log of the Ship

OOC: This will be continuously updated as the game progresses as well - for now this is the beginning of the full backgrounds story. Your characters should be somewhat Victorian Age-ish, albeit since as time progressed, rights have changed a bit, and while aristocracy still think highly of each other, women for example have equal rights etc. The start date of the game is the 21st of December. I will finish this whenever i have time

Log of the Ship, 12th of March:

The Ship the League of Nations has constructed is truly a miracle of the industrialized world, the rump of finest British steel, the Krupp engines are the newest designs, the French Stealth device should make the journey smooth, albeit the American Blockade - and ohh - the cypress wood that makes up the interior design is ottoman and the coffee service has been sent straight from Vienna and should make this journey more of a holiday then a mission.

13th of March:

Finally, the crew has arrived on the ship and they all seem capable, showing the different talents this mission will require. Missions to space had been carried on quite often by the LoN, but when Wilhelm VI and Victoria VII met, just 2 days ago, they proclaimed that: "This mission is truly a hope, and it is one of the steps we are making to fulfill our civilization mission not only on our planet, but on all of the galaxy". As Captain of this ship, i am obviously informed that this mission isn't about civilization, but about finding out whether:
a) The American Torpedo bays really shoot down any international ships passing through the asteroid belt.
b) There is Coal on Mnemosyne
Coal; a resource the Imperial Nations desperately need in order to fuel the steam engines that terraform their colonies on Mars and the search had gotten desperate after some time, as the Americans, a nation declaring the League of Nations being a horde of hypocritical despots and claimed the resources of the solar system for themselves. While not using those resources themselves, they just constructed torpedo bases and made them unusable for other nations, forcing us to go on interstellar missions.

15th of March:
The launch was a full success, and straight as possible, we sailed towards the black void that is our universe. The instruments were all working and through the Marconiphon we had gotten message: "Your height is closing in on the 20,000 Leagues above the sea required for the second stage, course is steady - good luck sailors and bring home some good news."

I'm also obviously in, since i only write flavor stuff

Name : Lt. Amelie "Crystal" Helmholtz
Occupation : Officer
In revolt of her German Families tradition to be excellent physicians and engineers, Amelie signed up for the "Kaiserliche Luftstreitkräfte", the Imperial Air Force and Later joined the International Space Mission. Her name is a reference to her obsession with trading stimulants and amphetamines to the crew, sometimes also other things, and while this is technically not allowed under the Prussian Codex, it has become something widely spread in some circles of the fleet.

Location: Growth Chamber, Hydroponics deck.

Name:"The Watcher"
Occupation: Security
Background: No one really knows where the Watcher comes from. Only a few things are known or thought to be known about him. One thing about him for certain is that he's the best shot in the world able to hit an American at 3 Kilometers easily while being able to hit anyone else at 2.5 Kilometers. The other thing known about him for certain is that his absolute hatred of the Americans is eternal and he can smell one at 4 Kilometers away and upon doing so will track them down and kill them. Beyond those two certain facts and a few facets about his personality, that he's clearly lost his mind and is utterly paranoid as well as being extremely quiet, nothing is known for sure. Rumors about him are rife though with everyone who has met him even briefly making up increasingly bizarre ideas about who he is and where he comes from. Some say he's a Canadian who was the last survivor of the so-called Epsilon 15 incident and lost his name at the same time. Others claim that he was an orphan who never learned his own name and grew up tough on the streets of the cities of Europe. Other less sane people claim he is an immortal mythical figure who has appeared through out time and that he developed his hatred for America while fighting, after a bizarre string of events, in the American Civil war on the side of the Confederates and never had a name to start with. Though everyone who believes in this theory has been officially declared insane. Regardless of his unknown origins and the fact he has no name the League of Nations drafted him in to provide both effective internal security as well as a bonus deterrent to American infiltrators who have in the past found themselves at the mercy of his massively over sized weapons that make up his personal arsenal.

Name: Jeiro Carlos Veloz
Occupation: Engineer
Background: Jeiro was born in the Dominican Republic, and managed to leave the country before the American invasion. His mother was shot by American soldiers, his father died when the ship they were travelling on was sunk by a submarine. He managed to save hisself, but nobody knows how. He never told anyone, and this is a topic nobody touches when speaking with him. Despite having had a difficult childhood, he is very out-going and optimistic. He studied at the European Space Academy, and his hatred for americans is second only to the watcher's. He is a very skilled military engineer and actually he designed the Defence Turrets mounted on the LSS Submarine, and also he was in the team who designed the Torpedoes.
He is known because of his ability to repair everything with electronics in 10 minutes, provided he has the necessary components. However, mechanical parts to repair are not his favourite job.
His best friends are Thomas Fraser and Alexander Ponomaryov, with whom he shared many drinks.
His secret: he hid a weed plant in the hydroponics deck. He also has a reserve hid somewhere in the ship, along with Thomas and Sasha's alcohol premium reserve. This has never been found, and they say it's utterly impossible to find if you don't know how to get there.
Location: Crew Quarters, Crew Deck
Status: Speaking with Scruffy, while he is in the toilet next to him, and rolling a joint.

Uhm, LSS is a starship classification that stands for League Spaceship. All military starships owned by the League of Nations are prefixed with LSS. Just rename it to something like "European Starship Academy". Except for that nitpick, approved.

KeldoniaSkylar: Approved, I assume that with Security Control you mean the Security Station.

Name: Nikolaus von Khur (Goes by Niko)
Occupation: Officer
Background: Born into the Prussian Aristocracy of Germany, Niko comes from a family who have been an integral part of the Imperial Air Force for almost as long as the Luftstreitkräfte's existance. Starting his career as a pilots within the Kaiserliche Luftstreitkräfte, Niko quickly gained recognition as one of Germany's best pilots, and was soon chosen to move on to pilot their growing Space Fleet. After being caught with his pants down in the same room as the Air Marshal's wife, Niko had found himself disgraced from his family and on the verge of being dishonorably discharged from both the Luftstreitkräfte and their Space Fleet before being given a position as the LSS Submarine's pilot, far from the Air Marshal and well out of the public's eye. Though not as luxurious as his former position as captain of the ISS Bismarck, Niko jumped at the chance to save his career, albeit for however long the trip to Mnemosyne would last.
Location: Atrium, Sight Deck
Status: Attempting to rewrire some of the ships Anbarics to remote pilot with the Bridge now controlled by the crazed Chang.

Name: Thierry de Chamoy
Occupation: Officer
Background: A Frenchman of noble descent, Thierry has always considered himself a highly cultured man. He tolerated the lesser peoples at the European Starship Academy so that any worlds the League of Nations decided to colonize would have some hope of being anything more than barbaric and uncultured cesspools. Sadly his talents are being wasted in yield-less scouting missions such as this one, and he's considering to send a strongly-worded letter to the League of Nation's directeur des missions on how frivolous he is and why the League should replace him with a proper Frenchman (such as Thierry himself). He is often seen telling lower-ranking crew how to do their jobs, and has gotten into numerous arguments with Alex Hamel & Scruffy the Janitor.
Location: Officers Quarters, Crew Deck
Status: Annoyed at the obvious lack of intelligence his crew-mates had to have left the ship's doors open on an uncharted planet.

OOC: How "long" is each turn? I can't imagine that buckling you shoes and running the length of the ship both count as equal turns.
