I haven't heard back from steam regarding this yet

Make sure you reload the steam client as well to make sure it haven't magically been resolved.

My cd-key recently appeared on steam. Didn't restart the client or anything. I looked in the morning when i turned on computer and there was no cd-key, looked again now and bam!

For some reason I still don't see the key in my steam library. Steam has been rebooted and reloaded a few times since purchase.

When you view the game in your Steam library, do you have a CD Key entry at all? It is on the right side, under "Links".
