CORE 0.60 b/w graphics pack (with updated travel guide and new unit pictures), Sept. 12, 2012 version.

Alternate download, Sept. 12, 2012 version:

There is currently no colour graphics pack available. Installing the 0.50 colour graphics pack will ruin the graphics install.

This version should adress several of the tech tree issues that were commented on here, so please have a look and comment.

Alelujah! This incarnation seems to bare some very big changes! Firing it asap! Bit** is only that I have to be in bed at 22.00, daaamn.

models:
* tons of nation specific models by Dec (are not in the standard download, will be in the gfx pack)
Oh oh, so we will get extra graphical goodies sometime in the future!?

Edit: I believe in order to provide more clear info and to avoid confused reports I suggest that you clearly state on the first post what the proper in-game settings for CORE are:

Difficulty: Normal
Aggressiveness: Normal
Democracy can start war: Off
Teach Team takeover: Off
End Date: Use scenario info
Full IC Takeover: Off
Tech Team Take Over: Off
Enable historical leader deaths: Off or On?
Historical Events Outcome: Off

Think it´s optional. It´s the kind of setting that screws player and AI heh. The AI will assign leaders to units once the generals die.

Superb work there gentleman. This mod rocks (and yes it´s still better than HOI 3 hehe).

Teg received a CORE'd config.eu file that should contain proper settings for standard gameplay but I don't know if it's properly integrated (file seems to change if different settings are used in a savegame)

The settings anyone should play:

Difficulty: Normal
Aggressiveness: Normal
Democracy can start war: Off
Teach Team takeover: Off
End Date: Use scenario info
Full IC Takeover: Off
Tech Team Take Over: Off
Enable historical leader deaths:Off/On -> no problem with this setting
Historical Events Outcome: Off -> has to be Off or it spoils a lot of events with multiple options and AI decision events

Historical Events Outcome: Off -> has to be Off or it spoils a lot of events with multiple options and AI decision events
For the record: within CORE the first option is always the historical one, should anyone wonder. :)

When I get home I will check what you really get. The first thing I have to check is whether config.eu is in the installer, otherwise I might very well use the agreed file described by Denniss above and not transfer it into the installer.

started a game with JAP:
CHI war look very bright up to now...if you push forward early you have about 1/2 of CHI till Nov 37 (war started start of August '37) - seems a bit too easy. CHI has lots of airunits which I find astonishing. But they are so outdated they don't make things better for them ('30er planes against my '35er)

one question: there are a lot of "unrest in china" events. when you choose "send more troops" you have no negative side and you loos 0 manpower? that seems strange - do those events do anything at all? (I mean, if you "send additional troops")

OK, couple of points:

Yes, the installer transfers the config.eu which should have the right settings.

Japan winning easily in China: are you sure you are playing normal/normal?

Belligerence for Unrest in China event: would be a very dangerous tool, since belligerence triggers certain mobilisation events. Also, the world community did not care a lot about minor fighting in China, so the international perception of Japan would not be affects (and that is what belligerence is about). We even have the "Lack of concern over China" event that reduces Japanese belligerence.....

well, let's see if it gets harder in the second half of the conquest, but I don't see a lot of chances for CHI.
yes, I am playing normal/normal

the issues you mention about belligerence sound reasonable - maybe one could find another thing? I just mean: why should anyone should NOT send more soldiers is it's just about 0.25 MP???

edit: ok, as I supposed: CHI is finished on 16th May 1938. The last 5 month they didn't put up much resistence. My real enemys were the long marching distances and winter weather... sad thing CHI didn't use the time it had to put up some defences.
maybe it would help to increase attrition in winter & mountains even more (and give CHI and maybe FIN, SOV a good bonus to withstand?)
Or maybe a few fortresses in the south-western mountainous reagions would help them make a stand?

I guess GER human vs. SOV AI and JAP human vs. CHI AI suffers the same problems: quality of CHI/SOV units is very weak (which is ok, but maybe they should get a morale boost somewhere along the run?) and they seem to build things that would help in the long run (e.g. airforce)but makes them weak in the start. Plus maybe burnt ground needs another increasement if GER/JAP player is human.

I am very curious how GER AI will perform...I quite have some time to watch them now the war in CHI is over ;)

After the Suiyan campaign was fought (and lost!), I noticed that Prince Dextremelylongname's HQ was still in existence as a "Supply Depot" in my list. Perhaps when he gets annexed by the Holy See his supplies should go with him?

Well, the Vatican feeds the Swiss Guard of those supplies, so it is WAD.

Question but is it WAD that I can´t build rocket test sites by 1939 even with the right tech already?

Which country, what tech level?
