Thread: Man World in Flames AI is HARD.

    Man World in Flames AI is HARD.

    I threw in the AI from the world in flames mod and this is hard as hell. I lost in FRANCE first time, now I cant beat SU. It just seems like I get no ORG gain in enemy territory, and SU has limitless units. (they get around 400 with that AI)

    If anyone wants a challenge check it out.

    Looks awesome. Any Tips? Will WIF 2 work with AOD? Maybe I shouldnt have just thrown the AI in, its too hard lol

    Nope. WIF 2 will only be on DH 1.03.

    But at least he succeeded to run WIF1 on AoD apparently... no objections there. Should we try it?

    All i did was copy over the AI folder from WiF because I heard it was great AI. And I see japan and italy are WAY more potent on the ground, but I need help beating SU lol

    I did this with HoI2 DD and I just couldn't defeat the Soviet Union as Germany, and completely bogged down around the historical borders of Dec 1941. Couldn't land a damn thing in England, since their armies were too tough, and I TRIED! I had full air superiority, and was bombing the heck out of the landing zone. I also had a few Carriers, as well as Paratroops in 1941, and I still couldn't do it. So I just gave up and focused on the USSR, only to be stopped there. In 1944 it looked like I couldn't advance East or West, and foreseeing a never ending war I eventually gave up. That and I think the Ghost fleets began to make the game nigh unplayable, so well there you have it.

    Does WiF give the AI artificial benefits such as free divisions?

    I dont know officially, but it gives them a smarter build Que I have noticed. Your stupid italy and japan allies now almost always win in NA and china. Im gonna have to try to beat SU again, because im playing a USA game now and ai germany won! It took till 1944 though so both sides were completely worn down.

    The whole philosophy of WiF lies in massive "artificial" interventions to get close to historical results. Things like all of Spain getting lvl4 forts to make the Spanish civil war longer then deleting units and giving massive negative modifiers to the Republicans in 1939, massive negative modifiers to Germany in 1941 to prevent better than real Barbarossa etc. This is only speaking about events, apart from it the game is just done insanely difficult for the human player by giving him enormous negative modifiers to lower IC, combat effectiveness, slow research etc.

    Most of it already is. A lot of stuff which used dirty work arounds was hardcodded into the engine (like peace events, now te AI cedes provinces claimed by allies: you no longer need dozens of events to reshape Europe after the war).
    Wif2 is not a conversion but a step forward taking full benefit of DH resources (some of which are still unknown to the average modder).

    Why doesn't Paradox bring you into their team, Fernando Torres? They really could use a better AI in their HOI games. HOI3, even with the expansions is terrible!

    They already have people like Lothos taking care of HOI3 AI and making a good job as far as I know (but I am no HOI3 expert). Paradox has not suggested me any proposal and I could not take another full-time job anyway.

    Fernando: Are we going to get a listing of the new commands or "DH resources" you speak of. I know we got secederegion and secedearea, instead of the monotonous secedeprovince a million times over ... this was a GREAT help.

    All of them are listed in the events_commands.txt file.
    Then there are combinations of commands and actions specific triggers and decision syntax which I use in the mod. Possibilities are almost endless now.
