The great Fraticelli Britannic Empire, and the pope who wanna crusade my ass!

Yeah, took over the Norwegian Crovan family, (Duchy of the Isles). Thankfully my wife (Princess of Norway) gave me claims on both Norway and England(whom i helped Norway alot to gain!) (Explaining how i got England!)

Anyway, had just taken 1-2 counties (Dublin, so the Norwegian population didn't turn Irish!) Then my Court Chaplain discovered the teachings of Fraticelli. Now, i've been bored of this game for quite a while, so i thought, hell why not something different.
The ''Holy War'' casus belli, was really handy, and i must have had constant wars for about 50 years(attack is the greatest defense), to keep my flow of cash high enough to keep my merchaneries (who just became more numerous as time went by!)
The tactic was to unify Ireland/Wales, when England/Scotland was busy with a war. And then take a large part of Scotland when my army was strong enough. Worked out well, after all i took all the isles, (and took Britanny as well.) Then i turned my son into a welsh(poor kid, and future me that had to handle revolts from EVERYONE!), and when he inheritaged, i made the Britannic Empire. (And kingdom of Wales and Britanny, that i can't give away for some weird reason)

Now... something unforseen came up, i simply did not expect this. The pope, the 67 year old Zealous, gluttonous, shy, slothful and infirm scholar... waged a crusade on England! (Luckily in the middle of a large civil war in HRE!) (as if handling the holy orders in any normal war wasn't annoying enough!)

I'm honestly slightly impressed with everything, and i hope and feel, that it will not take too long until they overhaul the heretics system. (+ divorcing your wife for free, is AWESOME!) (Forgot to mention, this is on Very Hard!)

And yeah. I was also surprised when I learned that the Pope can crusade against Heretics. It's really neat.

Great work with England. I have ran out of pagan counties to start small holy wars against with Sweden. Maybe I should look west or south-west.

Crusades and jihads are easy to survive whilst you are your current size. Put all your troops into boats, and have them positioned in strategic locations, pick the enemy off piecemeal as they arrive and take your troops back to sea. Once you have dealt with 2 waves, you just sail a few troops to Rome and win the war.

I survived 3 crusades as Ireland controlling all of Brittannia, I got sick of them and installed my heretic anti-pope as the new Pope. No more crusades ever again . I was hoping it would make my heresy the new catholic and I could now go on holy wars with the other heretics but to no avail

How did you install your heretic anti-pope? Did you have 1 Catholic pope become antipope and then convert him?
Cause i kinda took the hole of Rome so i dunno how to ''win'' the war, if i were to try and install a heretic!

But it didn't work out? Pity, it should just automatically turn it into the ''Correct'' religion, after all, power is everything and the power lies in Rome!

Oh and yeah, i won the crusade, was just surprised and slightly afraid. Since just 5 years earlier i had a REALLY tough war with Norway who had both holy orders, i was afraid of meeting HRE and both orders at the same time!

I had an anti-pope created before I became a heretic, I then converted my anti-pope to the "true faith". The anti-pope keeps a claim on the pope title, which is then inherited by the next bishop. The claim never seems to die.

Seems fun, but i'm sick and tired of handling the Pope, so i'm just gonna avoid that son of a bitch!
