Thread: APD 3.1.4 download/feedback thread (PDM for APD 2.31)

APD 3.1.4 download/feedback thread (PDM for APD 2.31)

    Download: http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/v...mod/45213.html

    Alt d/l: http://shareflare.net/download/18796...3.1.4.rar.html

    Checksum: OFMG

    1) Go and buy a copy of AHD.
    2) install it over your copy of V2.
    3) Patch it to 2.31
    4) Download APD 3.1.4
    5) Delete any existing PDM folder inside the Victoria 2\Mod folder before installing.
    6) Extract the zip to your Victoria 2\Mod folder.
    7) Download the Hotfix B file.
    8) Extract the zip to your Victoria 2\Mod folder, over top of what you installed previously.
    9) Go to the My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 2\PDM folder and delete the map cache there.
    10) Fire up the launcher, select 'A POP Divided' from the bottom-left menu, and press 'play'.

    Changelog can be found here.

    HOTFIX B:

    * Doubled MTTH on intensive farming
    * removed socialist/liberal/soclib mil reductions
    * increased country loan limits by 300% to discourage bankruptcy (banks will probably run out of cash before countries hit loan limits now)
    * fixed modifier lengths on new econ events.
    *Reduced reform mil some

Note: Hotfix B contains all of hotfix A, but overwrites some of the 3.1.5 files from the fileswap thread, so if you've downloaded those, re-install them after applying the hotfix.

For every subtle and complicated question, there is a simple and straightforward answer, which is wrong.

Click on the 'Free' tab. Tho I'd rather everyone used the primary anyway. Strategy informer gives better web stats and I'd kinda like a census; old-skool PDM 2.3.3 was still getting abut 20 downloads/week from there when I deleted it, so it may be interesting to get another look at our d/l totals.

Way too many revolts. Getting about one each month.
Fascist coups in the 1850's...in Austria, no less...
Austria is at war so I assume it's a break in the new fix for occupations during war.
Communists seizing power in Peru...in the 1850's...Peru is at war.
I see a common link here, folks.

Another edit, Transvaal had a Fascist coup and they aren't at war. Now I'm confused.
Some good news, though- the Heavenly Kingdom is putting up a fight against the Qing for once!
And the world is so torn apart...Philippines are independent, fascists and communists running around in the 1850's...it's pure chaos!

I received the "Shadow of War" event from Russian in 1955. I am a non-westernized Sikh Empire.

If you're getting fascists and communists that early, you have way bigger problems than too many revolts.

Can anyone corroborate this? And are you getting the correct checksum?

    Did you mean 1855?

And it's not impossible for you to receive the "Shadow of War" event. I'd need some information-- like what's happening in Russia? Who's it at war with?

Your patching instructions both in this thread and at the Strategy Informer webpage are for the previous APD version. I spent a minute looking for Hotfix A. :-p

Around 1860 now, no sight of any unusual rebel activity (except for those 150-300k rebels in Prussia or Austria that are still popping up from time to time :P).

    (1) The "Tax Reform" event does apply the modifier (+5% tax efficiency) for only 2 months. WAD?

    (2) During all my last Sweden games, the liberal revolution and springtime of nation fired, but ended quickly, with no reforms at all achieved. Isn't the trigger for the final event 10050 a bit lenient or the "springtime_of_nations" modifier application a bit too short?

    (3) The new intensive farming event seems a bit spammy. Maybe turn it into country events that target a state-wide scope of valid provinces?

    (4) In addition, the MTTH for event 876037 ("Exhausted Soils") feels a bit low. IRL effects of wrong or overly intensive landuse usually take decades until the first wide-scale effects occur. How about increasing the MTTH vastly (50 years), but make the negative effect also a long-lasting one?

    (5) I stumbled over an odd glitch in my Sweden game: I changed my immigration policy from "Quota" to "Naturalization" - and my upperhouse didn't went conservative. Instead I received some socialists and social-liberals (in 1860, way before the neither socialists nor social-liberals were enabled). ^_-
After passing some additional reforms it seems that every poltitical reform increases socialists and social-liberals in the UH. Savegame can be provided.

    (6) The "Change National Value" decisions tootlip modifers for REB are in event_modifers.txt, but not added to the decisions.

Economy is humming along quite nicely. No massive cement crisis in the 1890s. Copper seems to be in a better place - I haven't gotten all the way into the late-late game to see if that holds true or not though. . Really solid right now.

The thing is, there were no fascist or communist parties as far as I could tell, except in countries where there had been coups. I didn't have them, at least, nor did I have the rebels. There was an event that popped up which said "fascist coup" or "communist...something" (can't remember exactly). But it wasn't a normal rebellion.
Anddd I'm getting OFMG as my checksum, just like everyone else.

+1 on this, it pops up every 1-2 mins

Nope, got days/months muddled up. Fixed.

    (2) During all my last Sweden games, the liberal revolution and springtime of nation fired, but ended quickly, with no reforms at all achieved. Isn't the trigger for the final event 10050 a bit lenient or the "springtime_of_nations" modifier application a bit too short?
Hmm, not changed that in donkey's years. Ry, can you check over it?

    (3) The new intensive farming event seems a bit spammy. Maybe turn it into country events that target a state-wide scope of valid provinces?
No, it's province-specific (and limited to basic trade goods anyway). I'll limit it to non-colonial and double the MTTH.

It's intended as a minor threat to make you have to think about whether intensive farming is a good idea or not, rather than a dustbowl. The events should be 5 years of intensive farming, with a 50% chance that it'll cause soil exhaustion for 5 years. If we do a dustbowl thing, then that'll be considerably more severe, but also a late-game thing (you really need some heavyweight tech to fuck land up as badly as the Dustbowl did).

    (5) I stumbled over an odd glitch in my Sweden game: I changed my immigration policy from "Quota" to "Naturalization" - and my upperhouse didn't went conservative. Interesting. Possibly a side-effect of letting soc and lib reduce mil. Need confirmation from others - anyone else seeing this?

    (6) The "Change National Value" decisions tootlip modifers for REB are in event_modifers.txt, but not added to the decisions.
Blah, may have been overwritten by someone else's decision work.
