    Please, remove spell from diplomacy

You can see in diplomacy panel what spell your opponents preparing. So you can check diplomacy panel each turn and you probably know spells your opponents have. So no surprises. Also it is boring to check the diplomacy panel each turn. But it is necessary for optimal playing.
    Counterspell can be reworked.

or maybe dont look at diplo panel every single turn if you want to be surprised? A Great mage should be able to know when other mages are calling on great powers and buying of spell regents. Part of the sensitivity.

The whole point of seeing what other players are casting is so you know if you want to counter spell it. Without it counter spell would become fairly useless as you would need to just randomly hope they are casting some important spell when you fire it off.

Until I read this thread, I had no idea what the counterspell was for or how to use it.

    This.

Harmonius, if you don't want a feature, I suppose the answer is not to use it, rather than removing that feature so others who enjoy it can't have it available. Just my two cents.

i was going to ask for a panel that showed what spell each mage is casting having to open diplomacy and then on each mage to see is annoying but then i figured well it kind of comes into play how much you really care about the mages casting spells at you or not...

Personally Id like to see some sort of addition to the front-end/map UI where you can automatically see which spells are being cast my another Great Mage there, instead of having to go to the diplo screen. Doesnt seem prudent to have to go search for that information if you want to counterspell someone.

That would be really nice! Possibly just unobtrusively put a spell icon next to the players color in a corner of the main screen, and have it so you can mouse over to see the details.

It's useful info to see anyways, not just for counterspell.
