CONSOLE EDITOR
It is possible to open up the console to enter cheat codes or use developer tools. BE AWARE, you can really mess up your games doing this, SAVE FIRST
- "~" key, or "ALT 21" on numeric key pad- opens console command editor.
Commonly used console commands -
- "tag {xxx}" - allows you to switch countries while PAUSED in the console editor. {xxx} equals country code, example ENG=england, GER=germany, ITA=italy, JAP=japan, CHI=natchina, SOV=russia, USA=usa, FRA=france. Further country codes can be found on wikihoi3 site http://www.paradoxian.org/hoi3wiki/Main_Page
WARNING - unpausing while tag switching WILL mess up your game. SAVE FIRST!!! And after tagging, switch back to your country, save, exit, and reload save. Tag switching has been known to mess up the AI. But it is a good way to "assist" your allies in their build and tech choices, see what your allies are doing, etc.
- "debug fow" - while in console, this command will allow you to see everything and everyone. Consider it RADAR level 1000 This may slow your computer down.
- "tdbg" - this will enable province tool tip, which when scrolling over a province will show details includng province code. A godsend for modders.
- "noneutrality" - typing this in console will set player's nation to zero neutrality. For those who want to sandbox or play "what if?", especially with minor nations.
- "help" - lists the entire console command inventory, cheat codes, modder tools, the works. Use some of these at your own risk. As always, saving before toying with these commands is highly recommended.
