Problem being is that I don't recall if it's even in this mod. Might have been OSC.
I couldn't find an event similar to the one Malicite mentioned but I did a quick test and you can break a union by defining a new ruler for the junior nation. You need to simulate all the other effects such as relationship hits and alliance breaks though.

Divide et Imperia or Magna Mundi created PU between Poland and Lithuania by event (fired by decision). So it's possible.
Yeah ok, it seems the event I was thinking of is indeed part of OSC's whole Personal Union event line.
@up: Yeah- there was one ending union if someone had more than 1 PU.

I agree with this. I think the main issue with the way PUs are handled in MEIOU is that there are so many different ways to form them. The mission to enforce a PU on your neighbor is really a conquest mission, but it results in a PU, even though you have taken the crown by force. Add this to the 'usual' methods for forming PUs (i.e. marriages, claiming of thrones, etc.) and the PU becomes a lot more common. Since there are so many PUs(I usually have 3 or more at any time), these events become really tedious, firing every couple of months. It ends up in a game of 'send gifts faster than the events can fire.'
Well, i'll add a trigger for the not to happen if the nation already is in two PUs, and try to make it less likely if it has one.
